FORMER Manchester United star Marcos Rojo is a free agent after his Boca Juniors contract was terminated.
The defender now finds himself with a club just days after the Argentines were dumped out of the Club World Cup.

Rojo, 35, didn't play a single minute in the US as Boca failed to win a single group game.
After a 2-2 draw in their opener against Benfica, the Buenos Aires side lost 2-1 to Bayern before being held to an embarrassing 1-1 draw against semi-pro Auckland City.
Heads are sure to be rolling at Boca, winners of 35 league titles and six Copa Libertadores.
And one man who has paid an immediate price for their failure is Rojo.
The centre-back joined them from United in 2021 and went on to play 133 times.
But Rojo immediately fell out of Miguel Russo's plans when the gaffer took charge in May.
And despite still having six months remaining on his contract, ESPN claim Rojo has now been let go.
Indeed, it's reckoned the defender will not even return to Argentina with his side, who are midway through their season and sit joint-top of the table.

Rojo could now be eyeing a return to Europe, having also played for Spartak Moscow and Sporting Lisbon.
United paid the Portuguese side £16m to sign Rojo in 2014.

And the defender became a hit as won the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Europa League in his first three seasons.
However, a cruciate ligament injury in 2017 marked the beginning of the end of Rojo's Old Trafford career.
Having played 95 times in the first three years, the following three saw Rojo feature in just 27 games.
But he turned things around at Boca as he led them to title glory in 2022, playing 44 times that year before suffering another decline in form and fitness.

And that's despite him and his family actually having a soft spot for the Partenopei. Scotland hero McTominay joined the Naples side from Manchester United for £25.7million in the summer and finished the season with Serie A Player of the Year honours. Tartan Army pal Billy Gilmour played a crucial role too, as did another ex-Chelsea star in Lukaku. The Belgian was the team's top scorer but it's hard to argue with McTominay being the linchpin of the side. Indeed, the mercurial midfielder forced manager Antonio Conte to deviate from his usual formation to ensure he made the most of the Scot's qualities. However, for new Gers head coach Martin, it was Conte's pragmatism that left him somewhat unimpressed whenever he turned the TV on to see Napoli play. The veteran coach is known for his defensively-minded approach and it showed, with Napoli conceding the fewest amount of goals in Serie A last season. But despite topping the table, five teams scored more goals than them across the campaign (runners-up Inter Milan scored 20 more, with third-place Atalanta scoring 19 more). In an interview for Coaching Club, Martin acknowledged the importance of winning but said he would prefer to see it done in a different way. Martin said: "My family are all Napoli fans, I've tended to watch a bit of them as well when I watch Italian football. "That's been really interesting because they've changed their style a lot over the last couple of years because they've changed their manager a lot. "I don't particularly enjoy watching them at the moment under [Antonio] Conte. "But they are excellent at certain things and my son was excited watching them win the league." He later explained what he prefers in a team saying: "My philosophy has been shaped by teams I enjoyed watching the most. "So [Pep] Guardiola's teams, Barcelona mostly, and then recently [Roberto] De Zerbi's stuff. I love the way his teams play football so I watched a lot of him at Sassuolo and then he came to the Premier League with Brighton, and I'm from Brighton so that was exciting for me. "I like teams who try to be as dominant as possible and try to do things in a different way by trying to dominate possession. "I think over five years I've found a way to adapt but the one constant is to try and dominate territory and the ball, and be aggressive with the ball in the opposition pass. "And sometimes that can take just one pass, sometimes it takes 20." He added: "We won't always do patient build-up. "If the opposition comes with a high press, we'll try and play forward quicker. "It's about where is the spare man, are the opposition paying us respect or coming too high, so can we hit them in behind? "However you play, as a coach you need to try and guess the problems that the opposition will have. "My job is to prepare the players for that." Erling Haaland hits 300th career goal as Man City make statement in Juventus thrashing
Erling Haaland scored his 300th career goal as Manchester City thrashed Juventus 5-2 to finish top of Group G at the Club World Cup. Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden and Savinho – with a long-range stunner – were also on target as City produced an outstanding display despite both sweltering heat and a torrential downpour in Orlando on Thursday. City were pegged back after Doku's early opener when Ederson gifted a goal to Teun Koopmeiners but their lead was restored when Pierre Kalulu turned into his own net at the Camping World Stadium. Haaland, reaching a notable landmark in senior football for club and country, came off the bench to bundle in the third and Foden and Savinho made victory certain before Dusan Vlahovic's consolation. The result means City progress with a 100 per cent record from their three group games and should, in theory at least, have a more straightforward route through the knockout stages. Juve beat City 2-0 when the sides met in the Champions League in December but this was a far different side than the one that won just once in 13 games in a dismal run late last year. It was also a notable shift in gear from City after opening the competition with two straightforward wins against Wydad Casablanca and Al Ain. With Ballon d'Or winner Rodri making his first start since September, City were fluid and energetic. They made a fast start and Bernardo Silva had a header saved by the feet of Michele Di Gregorio before they took the lead in the ninth minute through Doku. Summer signing Rayan Ait-Nouri slipped him in with a fine throughball and the Belgian tucked home after cutting inside Kalulu. Juve responded immediately and City failed to make the most of a reprieve after Vlahovic scuffed an effort wide. Ederson carelessly gave the ball away from the resulting goalkick and Koopmeiners rifled a shot past the Brazilian. City dealt well with the setback and Tijjani Reijnders, Rodri and Omar Marmoush all had attempts blocked. The pressure paid off in the 26th minute although they benefited from a huge stroke of luck as Kalulu diverted Matheus Nunes' ball past Di Gregorio. The ferocious sunshine gave way to heavy rain just before the break but City were not deterred as Savinho shot at Di Gregorio before the keeper pushed away further strikes from Ait-Nouri and Marmoush. Marmoush was replaced by Haaland at the interval and the Norwegian soon made an impact. Reijnders played in Nunes, who rolled a pass perfectly into the path of Haaland in front of goal. His connection was hardly the cleanest but such was his positioning he could hardly miss. Ederson denied Vlahovic as Juve sought a way back but Haaland created the opening for the fourth when his pass was picked up by Savinho and powered in by Foden from close range. Savinho added another in style when he thundered in a shot off the underside of the bar from distance after 75 minutes. Juve were well beaten but Vlahovic battled on and pulled one back six minutes from time after good work by Kenan Yildiz.
