CLOT and adidas Bring "Patchwork" Detailing to the Superstar
WhenCLOTandadidasannounced themselves as partners once more, the two quickly made it clear that they had plenty of ideas to work with. However, the sheer output from the two in less than two years has been impressive, especially when considering that they've continued to rework just three sneakers: theSuperstar,Gazelle, andStan Smith.
The duo introduced theStan Smith Espadrilleearlier this month and now we have a preview of their next remix of the Superstar, a 'Patchwork' colorway. This new composition for the shelltoe sneaker sees it pair various patterns and textures together, including houndstooth, suede, and corduroy. Its color palette shifts between forest green, orange, off-white, and various brown hues while golden nods to CLOT come courtesy of the midfoot's lateral text and the shoe's heel branding. Meanwhile, the stitched sole unit features the duo's ripple sole finish, elevating the sneaker.
At the time of writing, neither CLOT nor adidas have discussed their upcoming 'Patchwork' rendition of the Superstar sneaker. Stay tuned for updates, including official launch details, as we expect it to arrive on shelves by the end of the year via adidas, JUICE, and select retailers.

This Retro-Inspired Bob Adds Movement, Shape, and Just the Right Amount of Drama
Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. If there's one haircut that proves the power of a fresh makeover, celebrity endorsement, and impressive PR, it's the bob. What was once a daring—and universally feared—style has become the most-requested cut of the year, with everyone from Hailey Bieber to Zendaya experimenting, and a never-ending list of bob trends taking over (see the hydro bob, myriad baroque iterations, and the blunt bob 2.0 for proof). The next installment, according to hair-trend forecaster Tom Smith, is the bell-bottom bob. 'This new cut has minimal layers; it's flipped out at the ends and can be styled with or without bangs (fringe),' he says. 'It's cut either with perfect precision or a more undone texture and is slim to the head near the parting before flaring out with volume at the ends.' Beyond the aesthetic itself, the real point of difference from the sea of bob trends flooding your Instagram feed right now comes down to its inspiration. The silhouette, Smith explains, is modeled on the flared cut of bell-bottom jeans—the equally nostalgic '70s favorite—which has also been enjoying a resurgence lately. Offering a more dramatic look than your standard blunt or classic bob, Hailey Bieber, Daisy Ridley, and Anok Yai are among the famous faces who have been spotted wearing the flicked-out bell-bottom bob. Better yet, it's versatile when it comes to styling. Case in point: If you've taken the plunge and opted for a micro-bob, simply flick out the ends to create the bell-bottom finish with a curling iron or a wide-bristle hot-air brush (the new BaByliss Air Wand includes the perfect attachment). Likewise, you can wear it with either a side or a middle part. 'If you want to showcase a more symmetrical face, opt for a middle part and a perfectly sharp flip at the ends. If you prefer a softer look, try a side part with less-precise flicks and tuck one side behind your ear,' Smith says. For a heatless approach, Smith suggests 'gently pre-drying the roots of your hair in a downward motion, then using a small round brush with a dollop of styling mousse, or a heat-protectant spray, to flick out the ends.' For staying power, he recommends wrapping the flicked ends in a small Velcro roller while they cool to set the shape, then finishing with a strong-hold hairspray. 'For a softer, more wearable look, shake your hair out after styling and mist on a texture spray for an undone finish,' he adds. Whether you opt for a messier bell-bottom style or perfectly placed flicks, heat-styling tools, or hardworking sprays, expect to see this trending hairstyle—in all its many guises—cropping up everywhere this summer.

'Star Wars: Starfighter' casting news: 'House of the Dragon' star is officially teaming up with Ryan Gosling
The good news keeps coming for "Star Wars" fans — after the exciting announcement that superstar Ryan Gosling would be leading the beloved franchise's upcoming standalone film, "Star Wars: Starfighter," the cast has just gotten an equally exciting, and fiery, addition: "House of the Dragon" star Matt Smith. The British actor already knows his way around a major genre franchise, from his role as the 11th Doctor in the BBC sci-fi classic "Doctor Who" and Daemon Targaryen in HBO's fantasy drama "House of the Dragon." Now, he'll be joining the "Star Wars" universe, according to a Deadline exclusive, though details on the villain that Smith will reportedly play are scant. It's a bit of a full-circle moment for Matt Smith, who was originally cast in 2019's "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," though the part didn't make it onscreen. "Starfighter" will take place approximately five years after the events of that film. 'We were close to being in it, but it never quite happened. I think the thing they were thinking of before. Eventually, the part became obsolete, and they didn't need it. So, I never got to be in 'Star Wars,'' he told the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast in 2021. Though he played coy on exactly who he was meant to play in "The Rise of Skywalker,' Smith added, 'It was a really groovy part and concept. It was a big thing, a big story detail. A transformative 'Star Wars' story detail. But it never quite got over the line. It was a big shift in the history of the franchise.' Looks like he'll get another chance to make a mark on the fan-favorite franchise along with Gosling and previously announced cast member Mia Goth in "Star Wars: Starfighter," which will be helmed by Canadian filmmaker Shawn Levy ("Deadpool & Wolverine", "Free Guy"). With a screenplay written by Jonathan Tropper ("Warrior," "Your Friends & Neighbors", "Starfighter" will reportedly not be connected to the nine films that make up the franchise's ongoing Skywalker Saga, and will serve as a standalone film. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. "It's not a prequel, not a sequel," Levy announced in April at a Star Wars Celebration panel in Tokyo, per The Hollywood Reporter. "It's a new adventure. It's set in a period of time that we haven't seen explored yet." Follow Tom's Guide on Google News to get our up-to-date news, how-tos, and reviews in your feeds.
