Trump Picks Stallone and Kiss for Kennedy Center Honors
President Trump selected the country music artist George Strait, the disco queen Gloria Gaynor, and the glam rock band Kiss as his musical honorees, rounding out the list of recipients with Michael Crawford, a British actor decorated for his stage performances in musicals like 'Phantom of the Opera,' and Sylvester Stallone, the American film actor best known for portraying the boxer Rocky Balboa in a series of eponymous films and the mercenary warrior John Rambo is a second franchise.
Mr. Trump's announcement, which he made from the Kennedy Center, is his first since he purged the renowned concert venue of its Biden-appointed board members, making himself chairman.
The Kennedy Center Honors ceremony is traditionally held in December. Mr. Trump said he would host this year's event himself.

In the Thursday, Aug. 14, Instagram post, the Big Little Lies actress began with a selfie posing with all three children. The text overlay read: 'Someone asked me what raising three kids and building a career in Hollywood looked like…' 'It looked like spending a lot of time in trailers together," she wrote on top of a selfie of her and Tennessee smiling in what appeared to be a trailer together. She continued sharing images of herself with each of her children, highlighting different and unusual elements of being a mother in Hollywood. Her next photo was a throwback selfie of her with Ava and Deacon in the back seat of a car. 'It looked like always being on the road together," The Morning Show actress wrote. She then shared a screenshot of a cheeky text between her and Ava, when her daughter informed her that she 'butt-dialed an Instagram live.' Witherspoon joked, 'It looked like my kids constantly giving me career advice!' The Oscar winner then confessed that 'it looked really hard sometimes.' 'I'd cry working 14 to 17 hours, sometimes all night long and still woke up early for carpool. I was deliriously tired,' she wrote. 'It looked like trying to say something positive about work when I got home at night. So my kids would know that my work was meaningful to me and could be fun!' As she capped off the post, she included a final throwback image with Ava, and wrote, 'In conclusion, even though it was challenging at times, having kids gave me perspective about what was important in life.' 'Nothing was better than getting to come home and hug them and hear about their day!' 'Grateful to stand alongside other moms in this beautiful, messy journey.💕,' she captioned the Instagram post. ‘And Just Like That …' Series Finale Recap: My Everything
Season 3, Episode 12: 'Party of One' Of all the mind-boggling choices the writers of 'And Just Like That …' have made this season, perhaps the wildest is forcing us, the audience, to watch a disgusting toilet overflow in the ostensibly final moments of this decades-long franchise. This week's episode — which, as we learned only a few weeks ago, is to be the series's last — was a cool 34 minutes. That's comparable to the lengths of the original 'Sex and the City' episodes and down from the roughly 45 minutes most of this season's episodes have clocked. I've noted in previous recaps that the shorter, tighter episodes are better paced, but this time things felt rushed, as if all the characters and their story lines needed more time. Everything and nothing happened in this episode. The finale of 'Sex and the City' included a romantic Parisian backdrop, a long-awaited confession of love, a bewildering slap and momentous lines like 'Go get our girl' and 'Carrie, you're the one.' This finale, which ended not only the series but also, most likely, the entire story, included no such pivotal moments. Instead, it simply tied up most of the conflicts in neat little bows and faded to black. In some ways, the ending was satisfying; there are no loose ends left. But what could have been compelling plot points are barreled through, check, check, check, like items on a to-do list. Taking place on Thanksgiving Day, everyone, for the most part, could be thankful for a happy ending: Seema, in the course of a single conversation, dismantles years of programming that made her believe she wanted marriage. She relaxes instead into a relationship with the wedding-averse Adam and enjoys gluten-free pie with his family while wearing jeans. Lisa puts the kibosh on the illicit romance budding between her and Marion, and despite acknowledging the patriarchal structure of marriage, she decides that is OK, and performs an impromptu vow renewal with Herbert in their bedroom.
