Murphy magic conjures up late winning scores as Dundalk side Naomh Moninne crowned county champions
The Argus
Ahead 2-12 to 1-9 at the interval at Integral GAA Grounds, Drogheda on Sunday afternoon, St Fechins looked to have one hand on the Paddy Kelly Cup and set to make it a remarkable five Louth senior hurling championship titles in-a-row.
However, no one expected what came in the second half as Dundalk side Naomh Moninne restricted the Fechins to just 1-2, hit the post, had a goal disallowed and then scored 1-1 in three minutes of added time to win by a single point and claim their first county title since 2019.

Louth GAA: St Mochtas manager Steven Poacher's focus turns to the championship after league victory
Cardinal O'Donnell Cup Final The Argus Today at 03:52 Having losing last year's Cardinal O'Donnell Cup final to Ardee St Mary's after topping the Division 1 table at the end of the league, St Mochtas manager Steven Poacher cut a happier figure on the pitch this year after Saturday's game as he congratulated his players and took the plaudits from supporters. Asked for his assessment of a game Mochtas dominated for large parts and won comfortably he said: 'We obviously knew that we could get a grip on Joe's kickouts. They've a young lad in goals and obviously the game has become very much about kickouts as Kerry showed in the All-Ireland Final.
