Brandi Glanville Goes Back To Dr. Dubrow To Fix Her Facial Disfiguration

Brandi Glanville Goes Back To Dr. Dubrow To Fix Her Facial Disfiguration

Yahoo29-01-2025

Dr. Terry Dubrow is one of the best plastic surgeons for a good reason, and Brandi Glanville has learned firsthand that he is the right man to trust.
The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" alum has been plagued by a mystery illness that caused her face to swell and disfigure her beautiful features. She initially believed her symptoms were stress-induced and blamed Bravo for it.
However, Dr. Terry Dubrow caught wind of her situation and advised her to seek better help from a professional like himself. Brandi Glanville refused his offer because of its long recovery time but quietly changed her mind sometime last year.
Dr. Dubrow recently shared news about Glanville's facial status, revealing she had been under his care, but they had not found a permanent solution to her problem. He explained that she still experienced uncomfortable symptoms from her mystery illness, forcing them to go under the knife.
The plastic surgeon noted he would perform a surgical tissue sampling on Glanville, which would hopefully unveil the root cause of her facial issues. As for why the former Bravolebrity trusted Dr. Dubrow after initially turning down his services, his expertise came through.
Glanville felt much better after receiving the doctor's recommended treatment last December. She even flaunted the fantastic results on Instagram days earlier, rocking a hot pink bikini while looking better than ever as she sipped on a cocktail, per TMZ.
Glanville sang Dr. Dubrow's praise, noting that working with him was a no-brainer given his expertise in plastic surgery and medical mysteries. On that note, she stressed her willingness to work with qualified individuals who could provide a definitive diagnosis of her illness.
Glanville's complete 180 was shocking as she previously implied Dr. Dubrow was not the right man to fix her face. Last December, The Blast shared that she turned down his offer to help because it involved a five-year recovery time frame.
She claimed the recovery time was too much for her to endure, confessing on her "Brandi Glanville Unfiltered" podcast that her facial problems had significantly impacted her social and sex life for over a year. In her words:
"Five years is way too long for me to wait. I have sh-t to do. I have places to go, people to make out with. I have not had sex since last October. I haven't kissed [or] made out with anyone. I haven't socialized, really."
Glanville praised Dr. Dubrow as a "lovely man;" however, she believed he was not the right doctor for her. She expressed interest in a second opinion, noting she wanted a more in-depth medical assessment to understand the cause of her facial problems.
"I want to run tests, and I wanna get another MRI and another CAT scan and do all the things. I wanna get to the bottom of this. I just don't wanna guess at what it is," Glanville explained. She confessed that she had seen multiple doctors but was no closer to finding an answer to her mystery illness.
Despite feeling frustrated about her facial issues, Glanville did not regret publicizing the problem. She went public with her swollen features in 2023, believing it stemmed from stress-induced angioedema.
Last December, she blamed Bravo for symptoms, claiming it stemmed from eating bad food on the show.
When Dr. Dubrow offered to help Glanville fix her face, he argued that her problem stemmed from something that entered her bloodstream through an injection.
The Blast reported that he believed her distorted features could be the work of two types of microorganisms and implored her to seek immediate medical attention.
He described her face as a "ticking time bomb," noting the longer the microorganisms stayed in her system, the more damage Glanville would suffer. Dr. Dubrow explained that if the organisms were not removed quickly, treatment would become difficult.
According to the plastic surgeon, untimely action could result in more scars and nodules in Glanville's body. On that note, the "Botched" star offered to do his best to assist the former Bravolebrity if she could not find a reliable doctor.
Dr. Dubrow's comments about Glanville's facial problems stemming from microorganisms sparked various fan theories on X. Many suspected her disfigured features stemmed from poor life choices, with someone claiming, "These are effects of cocaine … soon her nose will collapse!!!."
Another theorist argued, "It's simple … she puts poison in her face." A third supported the cosmetic surgery claim, noting: "Don't put shit in your face. Easy fix." The theories continued, with an X user sharing Dr. Dubrow's suspicions, writing:
"Looks like more than a parasite to me."
A critic mocked Glanville's swollen features, claiming she "looks like she got whacked with an ugly stick." A fellow troll echoed similar sentiments, noting the media personality had a "butter face." What will Dr. Terry Dubrow discover once he performs surgery on Brandi Glanville?

The Complexity Of Ageing During The Airbrush Era

Photo: courtesy of Soaliha Iqbal. Snapchat and Instagram were my main social media platforms growing up in the 2010s. Most photos from my teen years are filtered or edited in some way, and as I scroll through them, it's been really disconcerting to see how clear my skin was, how small my nose was, how big my eyes were — but were they? Right now, I'm 26, nearly 27 (which my 18-year-old sister tells me is basically 30). My skin isn't as resilient as it used to be, and I'm feeling the pressure to use retinol to banish any fine lines (so far, I'm successfully resisting — but only just). I've gone up two, sometimes three dress sizes in recent years, my eyelashes are not what they used to be and while I have no evidence of it, I'm convinced my lips have gotten smaller. 'Is it a lack of collagen production as I age?', the skincare-pilled part of me asks. The piece of me that knows this is a damaging line of thought for someone in their mid-twenties throws her phone into the bin. I know that certain brands want me to feel insecure, that this dread and anxiety in my chest powers a multi-billion dollar beauty industry that needs me to run into its arms and ask it to fix me. I know this in my head, yet I can't stop my hands from picking up my phone and scrolling through my Instagram photos from my high school and uni days. Despite my efforts, I end up comparing myself to when my skin was smooth and my lips were fuller and I didn't have the same lines around my eyes. I think back to the days when I was pretty, goddamn it. Why have I changed so much? Here's the thing, though: that photo with me throwing up peace signs? I wasn't wearing any makeup that day. I added eyeshadow, lipstick and long lashes via the Airbrush app. And don't forget the features where I could smooth my skin and enlarge my eyes. In the Krispy Kreme photo, I made my eyes bigger, my nose smaller, my face slimmer and edited out my eyebags and any of what I considered "skin imperfections". In fact, almost every photo I posted of myself between the years of 2016 and 2020 are heavily edited in some way. As I go through ' second puberty ' and feel my body and face mature to that of a woman in her late twenties, the temptation to compare myself to the 'old me' is becoming harder to resist. This self-flagellation is a feeling I'm sure many women are familiar with, but the dysphoria is particularly crippling because every photograph of myself from this era is a lie. They are genuinely not a reflection of what I look like. These representations of me are not real, and the result is having unrealistic standards of my own face caused by… my own face? And so, in some ways, I have become my own tormenter. ' The result is having unrealistic standards of my own face caused by… my own face? ' When I was in school, 'unrealistic beauty standards' were mostly associated with magazines and digital publications airbrushing their models — crucially, it was a standard others perpetuated, so it really didn't occur to me that my own use of filters would cause me psychic damage in the future. Now, post- TikTok and in a world where filters are ubiquitous and increasingly hard to spot, we need to be talking about the long term effects of using them — namely, that after a while, you might actually forget what you used to look like. And if you can't remember what's 'normal' for your face, accepting it in its current, older form is an uphill battle, made all the harder by this new age of skincare where 10-year-olds are making Drunk Elephant skincare smoothies and cosmetic procedures are no longer a luxury associated with celebrities, but an accessible (and encouraged) way for women of all backgrounds to 'maintain their youth'. ' They've been brainwashed not just by the beauty industry, but by the normalisation of editing your photos, which we were the first generation to do. ' In fact, warped perceptions of aging are already rife online — just look up any video of a woman aged 27 to 30 years old who isn't wearing makeup. Or, if you want to be particularly upset, look at the comments on this specific video from last year. The comments are tragic, and to me, they're evidence that we've failed our little sisters who have no idea what 'normal' aging looks like because they've been brainwashed not just by the beauty industry, but by the normalisation of editing your photos, which we were the first generation to do.

Conner Smith's Rep Gives Update After Nashville Fatal Accident

Rising country star Conner Smith's representative has now responded to the news that Smith was involved in a fatal accident in Nashville, TN, that left an elderly woman dead. Smith's rep told People that he was 'involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life.' Smith was not injured. The crash occurred on the evening of June 8, and Dorothy Dobbins, 77, was killed after being struck by a pickup truck driven by Smith, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department wrote in a news release. 'His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins' family during this incredibly difficult time,' Smith's rep's statement said, according to People. 'Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.' People noted that sources told the publication that Smith was not impaired at the time of the crash nor "distracted by his phone." Smith has 200,000 followers on Instagram. According to 9News, he is best known for the "viral hit 'I Hate Alabama' and released his debut album, 'Smoky Mountains,' in 2024." He "was nominated for New Male Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards last year," the station reported. "The pedestrian killed Sunday night after she was struck by a vehicle on 3rd Avenue North near Van Buren Street is identified as 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins," police wrote. "The preliminary investigation indicates that a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by Conner Smith, 24, was traveling north on 3rd Avenue North as Dobbins was crossing the roadway," the release says. "It appears that she was inside a marked crosswalk when she was struck around 7:30 p.m. Dobbins, who lived nearby, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died." "The preliminary contributing factor for this crash appears to be Smith failing to yield the right of way to the pedestrian. He showed no signs of impairment. There are no charges at present as the investigation continues," the release Smith's Rep Gives Update After Nashville Fatal Accident first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 10, 2025
