Operation Sindoor has made India's anti-terror policy clear to the world: PM Modi
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said Operation Sindoor has sent a strong message to the world about India's uncompromising stance against terrorism and added that no place is safe for those who spill Indian blood.
Speaking at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi during the centenary celebration of the historic meeting between Sree Narayana Guru and Mahatma Gandhi, the Prime Minister said, "Today, the country is moving on this path. India is rapidly moving towards becoming the world's third-largest economy. Recently, the world has also seen the potential of India. Operation Sindoor has made India's tough policy against terrorism very clear to the world. We have shown that no place is safe for terrorists who shed the blood of Indians."
He highlighted that Operation Sindoor not only marked a strategic response to terrorism but also showcased India's growing military self-reliance.
"Today's India takes steps according to whatever is possible and right in the interest of the country. Now India's dependence on foreign countries for military needs is also continuously decreasing," PM Modi said.
Lauding the indigenous defence industry, he added, "We are becoming self-reliant in the defence sector, and we have seen its effect during Operation Sindoor as well. Our forces forced the enemy to kneel in 22 minutes with weapons developed in India. I believe that in the coming times, the name of Made in India weapons will be heard all over the world."
Reflecting on the broader theme of the event, PM Modi called upon citizens to follow the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru in the mission of national development.
"To fulfil the resolutions of the country, we have to spread the teachings of Sree Narayan Guru to the people. Our government is also working actively in this direction. By forming the Sivagiri Sarkar, we are connecting the places of pilgrimage associated with the life of Sree Narayana Guru. I am confident that his blessings and teachings will continue to guide the country in our journey towards Amrit Kaal. Together, we will fulfil the dream of a Viksit Bharat," he said.

Sources in the security establishment said the NSA emphasised that Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the 'barbaric terror attack on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam, J&K, in which TRF (The Resistance Front), a proxy of LeT, killed 26 Indian & Nepalese nationals and injured several others after segregating them based on religion'. Ajit Doval said that India was deeply concerned about continued threats from groups designated by the United Nations Security Council as terror outfits, including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Al Qaeda and its affiliates, and ISIS and its affiliates. New Delhi: National Security Adviser Ajit Doval Tuesday briefed his counterparts attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting in Beijing on Operation Sindoor, underlining the need to shun 'double standards' on terrorism, which included cross-border attacks. He said that the operation was to dismantle terror infrastructure and deter terrorists likely to be sent across the border into India. 'India's actions were measured and non-escalatory,' he was quoted as saying. The sources said Ajit Doval also highlighted the need to shun double standards in the fight against terrorism and take decisive actions against the UN-proscribed terrorists and entities, such as LeT, JeM and their proxies, to dismantle their terror eco-systems. The NSA also reiterated that any act of terror, including cross-border terrorism, was a crime against humanity. India called on the SCO members to hold accountable the perpetrators, organisers, financiers, and sponsors of acts of cross-border terror and to help bring them to justice. Ajit Doval also requested support from the heads of delegations for several important Indian proposals, including the Algorithm of Joint Actions, to counter challenges posed by international terrorist organisations, including Al Qaeda & its affiliates. The NSA also sought the need for measures to counter radicalisation that led to terrorism, separatism, and extremism. Indian embassy in Iran says evacuation exercise to wind up as ceasefire announced

Indian nationals board an Indian Air Force (IAF) C-17 aircraft to return to India during evacuation operations, amid heightened tensions in conflict-affected areas of West Asia. (PTI) The Indian embassy said it has closed the contact desk that was opened to register new names for evacuation, adding that the government of India is still keeping a careful eye on the evolving situation and will reassess its strategy in case there is again a threat to the security of Indian nationals in Iran. Follow Iran Israel conflict news live updates The embassy advised Indians who are in other parts of Iran, but were planning to travel to Mashhad for evacuation, to remain where they are, and continue to monitor the news, as well as any updated advice issued by the embassy. 'Those Indians who had already travelled to Mashhad in the last few days, and are staying in one of the hotels arranged by the Embassy, are requested to shift to Sadr hotel today itself, because the Embassy will be releasing the rooms in other hotels,' the Embasse of India in Tehran said in a series of posts on X. 'The embassy will retain the rooms in Sadr hotel for 2 more nights (until checkout time on 26 June). This will also allow citizens time to assure themselves that the security situation in Iran is indeed returning to normal,' another post read. Indian citizens who need advice or assistance can contact the Embassy through the telegram channel or on the helplines provided earlier. 'These communication channels will be open for the next few days,' the embassy wrote.
