Woman charged with shooting, killing Ogden woman after argument
Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
OGDEN, Utah () — A 37-year-old woman has been charged with shooting and killing another woman in Ogden earlier this month.
Ana Maria Zaragoza, 37, has been charged with murder, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, and two charges of obstruction of justice. All of these charges are felonies.
On April 2, the Ogden City Police Department responded to the area of 400 E and 800 N in Ogden after 9 p.m. Witnesses reported , and police observed a single gunshot wound to her chest when they arrived.

The woman was taken to the hospital by responders, but would later die from her injuries.
According to documents filed today, interviews held with witnesses revealed more information about what might have led up to the shooting.
Police say that witnesses reported the victim and Zaragoza arguing in a nearby apartment. They said that both of them left the apartment, and a gunshot was heard shortly after. The two witnesses then saw a silver Nissan Altima that was known to be Zaragoza's leave the scene.
On April 13, Zaragoza was arrested by Utah Highway Patrol for driving over 100 mph. She faced several additional charges, including possession of a weapon, possession of a substance with intent to distribute, and not having a valid driver's license.

Zaragoza was brought in for a police interview after investigators matched her vehicle to the one at the scene.
According to documents, during the interview, she confessed that she had shot the victim after she 'made threats towards her.' Zaragoza admitted that she had discarded the pistol she used as well as her phone. She also said that she booked a flight from the Los Angeles International Airport to Mexico.
Zaragoza is currently in the Davis County Jail, being held for her arrest by Utah Highway Patrol.

Arrest made in gas station shooting that left 2 injured
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An arrest has been made in a shooting at a Hickory Hill gas station that left a man and a juvenile critically injured last month. They were both taken to the hospital in critical condition. Man allegedly shoots coworker after 'exchange of words' Video footage showed two men getting out of a white Nissan Altima and walking toward the two victims sitting in the Corolla. Witnesses say they saw one of the suspects running after the Corolla when it left the parking lot and began yelling, 'get out the car, get out the car' as it drove off. The suspect is then accused of firing shots into he back of the Corolla. On June 2, Memphis Police Violent Crime Unit investigators conducted a search warrant on the suspect's Nissan Altima. The investigators said a wallet was found in the front passenger side of the vehicle belonging to Kevon Chapman, and another was found in the backseat belonging to Tariq Robinson. Tariq Robinson was booked into jail on Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning. His bond has yet to be set. Two teens among four people seriously injured in rollover crash on Route 2 in Marlborough
Two teenagers were among four people who were seriously injured when a vehicle left Route 2 in Marlborough on Tuesday and struck an embankment before rolling over multiple times. The crash was reported on the westbound side of the highway in the area of Exit 15 where emergency crews responded just before 5:30 p.m., according to Connecticut State Police. State police said a 17-year-old from Hartford was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima when he veered off the right side of the highway and struck a ledge embankment. The vehicle rolled over several times and came to rest in the right lane. The driver and three passengers suffered serious injuries and were taken to Hartford Hospital, according to state police. Among the passengers was a 16-year-old from East Hartford, state police said. Additional information about the other two passengers was not immediately available. The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information or who witnessed the crash has been asked to contact Troop K in Colchester at 860-465-5404.

The Brief The CHP arrested a 14-year-old after pulling over a stolen vehicle, investigators said. The driver of the car hit four vehicles on Interstate 80 before fleeing on foot. An AK-style rifle was recovered in the vehicle, the CHP said. BERKELEY, Calif. - The California Highway Patrol announced the arrest of a 14-year-old who investigators said was in a stolen car and in possession of a loaded AK-style rifle on Interstate 80 in the East Bay. What we know Investigators said on Friday, officers attempted to pull over a gray Nissan Altima with no license plate, along westbound I-80 near Ashby Avenue. The driver initially pulled over to the right-hand shoulder, but then changed his mind and immediately took off, officers said. "The vehicle accelerated on the shoulder and made a sharp left turn back into the lanes of traffic, crashing into four vehicles," the CHP said in a Facebook post. The dangerous activity continued when the driver got out of the Nissan and ran. The man, described to be in his 20s, initially got to the center median and then found an opening and bolted across all lanes, a CHP press information officer told KTVU. The driver got away, but officers said they arrested a teen who was a passenger in the stolen car. And inside the vehicle, the CHP said they recovered a rifle.
