Tulisa shows off painful bloodied nose after undergoing six beauty treatments
N-Dubz and I'm A Celebrity... star Tulisa Contostavlos travelled to London for a 'beauty day' as she revealed the six treatments she undergoes to remain looking youthful
Tulisa showcased her scraped and bloodied nose after undergoing six beauty treatments as she joked 'no pain no gain'. The N-Dubz singer, 36, took to her Instagram Stories to reveal how she maintains a glowing and youthful look as she travelled to London for a 'beauty day'.
"How many treatments can you get in one day back to back?," she joked as she spoke to the camera while lying down on a salon bed as an expert worked on a 'muscle lifting' treatment, which is said to tighten facial muscles. She said: "It enhances your muscles and gives you this snatched look on your face."
She then showed her next 'needling' treatment on her scarring, which required her to apply numbing cream before. "I'm going to be a little bit red after this," Tulisa said. The singer later returned to her Stories while sitting in her car. The star turned her face from side to side as she revealed the blood and redness on her cheeks and nose.
"As you can see, I'm really red. I look like I've been smacked in the face and it's fine because it will go dow in a few days. The nose is extra sore because it's so close to the bone," Tulisa explained to fans before adding: "No pain, no gain!"
She also underwent a collagen wave treatment, which uses radio frequency. The procedure works by using heat to stimulate fibroblasts - the cells responsible for generating collagen and elastin.
The star took a little break and had a full body massage and reflexology before continuing on to her next few treatments.
After completing all her treatments, Tulisa prepared to return to Manchester and said the healing process would taken two days to a week. She said: "I should be ready to rumble by the weekend."
She ended her video with a light-hearted: "Beauty secrets by T. You're welcome." Last year, Tulisa opened up about overcoming a major health struggle during a chat with Paul C Brunson.
The star said: "I will tell you that running up to I'm A Celeb, during lockdown, I unfortunately became dependent on benzodiazepine. So we're talking zopiclones and diazepam.
"I had a backlog of them for flying, for sleeping issues from the trial, tons of them. I was alone during lockdown. I found out my dog had cancer. I got very depressed and I began self medicating.
"Now, as lockdown finished, for me it was time to get back to reality. I was like, 'I can't numb myself every day and this anxiety, I can't get to sleep with a sleeper every night. I can't have a diazepam when it hits 9pm to calm me down. So it's time to stop.''
After realising she was becoming dependent on the medications, Tulisa decided to quit them. "Anyway, I came to the point where I was like, 'Enough is enough. I don't care how bad it feels when I don't take it, I'm gonna stop taking it,'' she shared. 'So I just went cold turkey for five days and I ended up in hospital because I didn't know, but my body had become dependent on it."
