Wisconsin basketball hosts transfer forward, WCC Freshman of the Year on official visit
Wisconsin basketball hosted Portland transfer forward Austin Rapp on an official visit on Monday, according to his Instagram.
The 6-foot, 10-inch forward is in the portal after averaging 33 minutes, 13.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks on 39.7% shooting and a West Coast Conference-best 35.2% from 3 during an excellent freshman season. Those outputs earned him the WCC Freshman of the Year award and a spot on the freshman all-conference team.
The sharpshooter, who has three years of eligibility remaining, would provide a seamless replacement for veteran center Steven Crowl, who graduated after the 2024-25 campaign. The Badgers need both starting talent and depth in the frontcourt. A leading duo of Nolan Winter and Rapp, with Xavier Amos and another transfer off the bench, would mark the start of an impressive transfer cycle for Greg Gard and his staff.
Rapp does not currently carry a transfer ranking or projection. Given his accolades in just one year at the college level, Wisconsin is likely to have significant competition to land his commitment.
Wisconsin is looking to replace 44.7 combined minutes, 13.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and one block from veteran forwards Crowl and Carter Gilmore. Despite their position, the two combined for 53 3-point makes on 139 attempts (38%). That versatility and multi-level scoring ability played a major role in Wisconsin's breakthrough year on the offensive end of the court.
Rapp's fit in the lineup is clear: the forward made 83 of 236 3-point attempts (35.2%) last season. Each of those numbers led the entire WCC, independent of position.
Wisconsin already hosting the promising transfer forward on a visit indicates his high place on the team's priority list. Bookmark our transfer target tracker as the Badgers' top contenders for Rapp become apparent.

UNC baseball gets Luke Stevenson replacement with transfer portal commitment
UNC baseball gets Luke Stevenson replacement with transfer portal commitment Can UNC's first baseball transfer portal commitment make an immediate impact in 2026? Georgia State transfer catcher Colin Hynek has committed to North Carolina. In 2025, he hit .230 with 18 HRs and 45 RBIs, leading the team in homers and ranking fourth in RBIs and total bases. He had a .586 SLG, .396 OBP, and 36 walks. — Chris Smith (@chrismithunc) June 7, 2025 The UNC baseball team is extremely lucky to have Luke Stevenson behind the dish, but his time in Chapel Hill is likely coming to an end after the current season. Stevenson, mocked to be a first-round pick in July's MLB Draft, is a do-it-all catcher. Stevenson is the Diamond Heels' top power source, mashing 19 home runs, while he's also a defensive stalwart with only two errors. With Stevenson likely gone in 2026, North Carolina needs an answer at catcher. UNC also carries Liberty transfer Macaddin Dye behind the plate, plus Juco transfer Rom Kellis, but wants to add another option. The Diamond Heels are hoping that their latest roster addition is their answer behind the dish. On Saturday, North Carolina secured a commitment from Georgia State transfer Colin Hynek, who started 105 of the 132 games he played in Atlanta. Like Stevenson, Hynek is also a power threat at the plate, mashing 33 home runs and driving in 91 runs across thre seasons. By coming to Chapel Hill, Hynek will have a significantly better shot at competing for a championship. Georgia State just completed a 26-30 campaign and hasn't made the NCAA Tournament since 2009, while UNC is playing in the Super Regional round for a second-consecutive season. If you're following recent transactions across college baseball, there's plenty of transfers already in the portal, particularly from the Virginia Cavaliers. The Diamond Heels will benefit from adding more starting pitching to their 2026 roster, while more hitting power couldn't hurt. Sale sparkles as Braves snap seven-game skid by beating Brewers 7-1
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Chris Sale struck out a season-high 11 while allowing just one run over seven innings as the Atlanta Braves snapped a seven-game skid by beating the Milwaukee Brewers 7-1 on Monday. Matt Olson, Ronald Acuña Jr. and Eli White homered to make sure the Braves avoided their first eight-game losing streak since 2016. Sale (4-4) allowed just five hits and two walks. The reigning NL Cy Young Award winner has given up just four runs over 33 innings in his last five starts. Atlanta led 5-1 when Sale left after walking Brice Turang to start the eighth. Raisel Iglesias took over for Sale and got three straight outs to lower his ERA to 6.48 before Dylan Lee worked the ninth. Iglesias was pitching for the first time since allowing three runs over two-thirds of an inning Thursday in an 11-10 loss to Arizona, a game in which the Braves blew a 10-4 lead in the ninth. The Braves failed to score after having two on with none out in the second and fourth innings, but they finally broke through in the fifth. Olson greeted DL Hall with a two-run, two-out homer in the fifth to put the Braves ahead for good after Acuña had tied the game by going deep off Aaron Civale (1-2) earlier in the inning. White greeted Grant Anderson with a two-run shot of his own in the eighth, and Marcell Ozuna hit a two-run single off Anderson in the ninth. Milwaukee's only run came in the third inning. Joey Ortiz hit a leadoff double and scored on William Contreras' two-out single. Key moment The Atlanta bullpen that has struggled so mightily during this slump did its job Monday. Iglesias and Lee retired six straight batters while combining for four strikeouts. Key stat Atlanta's Ozzie Albies got his 1,000th career hit when he singled to left in the eighth inning. Up next The second game of this series Tuesday is a matchup of right-handers, with Grant Holmes (3-4, 3.99 ERA) starting for Atlanta and Quinn Priester (3-2, 3.88) pitching for Milwaukee. ___ AP MLB:
