Notre Dame 2026 WR target Kohen Brown commits to the Texas Longhorns
It looked like Notre Dame football was going to make a run at former USC wide receiver commit Kohen Brown, but that took a big turn on Sunday evening.
The 6-foot and 190-pound prospect had scheduled an official visit to see South Bend next weekend, but that might not happen as Brown committed to the in-state Texas Longhorns. He took an official visit there this weekend, and that trip sealed the deal for him.
While its unfortunate that Notre Dame is most likely no longer part of his plans, Brown has yet to say that he won't make the visit, there are still more than a few high-level wide receivers they are after.
Another Texan in Brayden Robinson is set to commit on June 20th, when he is scheduled on his official visit to see the Irish. Florida's Brian Williams is also an option, as his official will start on June 19th, and Notre Dame will host Devin Fitzgerald, Larry's son, on June 13th.
The Irish have options to add another wide receiver in 2026, and currently have Bubba Frazier and Dylan Faison committed at the position.

NBA Player Sends Message After Being Released by Celtics in 2019

NBA Player Sends Message After Being Released by Celtics in 2019 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Back in 2016, the Boston Celtics had a major rookie class that consisted of a few important names. Most notably, with the third overall pick that yet, Boston drafted Jaylen Brown. Brown is still a part of the Celtics and was crucial to their championship victory in 2024, earning Eastern Conference Finals and NBA Finals MVP honors. Advertisement In addition to Brown, the Celtics also drafted another notable player that year in Guerschon Yabusele, who they took 16th overall. The French native spent two seasons in Boston before the team waived him in 2019. Nearly six years later, Yabusele sent a message regarding his time in Boston. Philadelphia 76ers forward Guerschon Yabusele (28).© Kyle Ross-Imagn Images After getting waived by the Celtics in 2019, Yabusele played overseas and did not return to the NBA until last year. Following an impressive run in the Olympics, Yabusele joined the Philadelphia 76ers and appeared in nearly every game for the team. Recently, the 29-year-old spoke about how different his mentality is now compared to his Celtics days, and he admitted to it being "completely different" (h/t Cyro Asseo de Choch of HoopsHype). Advertisement "It was a completely different mentality than when I was in Boston, because when I was in Boston, I was drafted first round, 16th pick, so my standards and what I was hoping was completely different from right now," Yabusele said. "I didn't have that much experience, too. I was really just young, and I wanted just to play." Despite being a first-round draft pick for Boston, Yabusele did not play much. During his two seasons with the team, he averaged just 6.6 minutes across 74 games. Yabusele is set to hit unrestricted free agency this summer. It remains to be seen whether he will remain in Philadelphia or go elsewhere. Regardless, he has done a fantastic job of reviving his NBA career after his release from the Celtics, and his status will be a fun one to follow throughout the offseason. Celtics-Spurs Trade Report Surfaces Amid Jaylen Brown News

Celtics-Spurs Trade Report Surfaces Amid Jaylen Brown News originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The San Antonio Spurs have a window on their hands with Victor Wembanyama. He is one of the league's best young players, and it is expected that he will take little time to be considered among the league's best players. Advertisement This increases the urgency to build the best team around him. San Antonio already started doing this when it acquired De'Aaron Fox from the Sacramento Kings. The Spurs may try it again with another NBA star, like Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown. There's no telling if the Celtics have made Brown available in trade talks, but if they do, the Spurs have the assets in their arsenal to offer, like the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. What makes that asset even better is that it's the second overall pick in a loaded NBA Draft class. Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown (7)© Kevin Jairaj-Imagn Images NBA insider Chris Mannix revealed on The Kevin O'Connor Show that, should Brown become available, he believes the Spurs may look into acquiring him. He also outlined the deal the Spurs could offer the Celtics for him. Advertisement "If (Brown's) in play, that's someone I think San Antonio will look at and will go after," Mannix said. "That's someone, I think if you're the Spurs, you're willing to give the No. 2 overall pick plus that kind of pu-pu platter of players... in the Kevin Durant conversation." Mannix also made it clear that the Spurs' pursuit of Brown would be contingent on the Celtics' deciding what to do with him. "That's interesting. Jaylen Brown, if he's available... I would expect San Antonio to be among the teams that would make a run at him." However, just one day after this report, the Celtics announced Brown underwent a right knee procedure. He is expected to be ready by training camp, but will this make the Spurs hesitate on inquiring about his availability? That is a decision they now face. ESPN believes that Notre Dame football will be a top-5 team over the next few seasons

ESPN believes that Notre Dame football will be a top-5 team over the next few seasons We all say that Notre Dame's football future is bright, and on Wednesday ESPN's Adam Rittenberg backed that idea up. When looking ahead to who he believes will be the top teams over the next two seasons, he ranked the Irish as his No. 5 team. It's a slight jump from last year, when Notre Dame was No. 7, for more than a few reasons. Rittenberg went on the explain that while the Irish aren't returning their starting quarterback, they should have a multiple year starts whoever (CJ Carr or Kenny Minchey) wins the job. He believes that the offensive line 'should be one of the nation's most talented groups,' along with the defensive line being loaded with talent despite having to replace more on this side of the ball. He lauds head coach Marcus Freeman's roster management, noting that the transfer additions will help immediately and 'retaining arguably the nation's best running back room and its gifted young offensive linemen.' Rittenberg mentions Notre Dame's star power also, as running back Jeremiyah Love, linebackers Drayk Bowen, cornerback Leonard Moore and safety Adon Shuler should be household names. As far as the coaching staff, Rittenberg has Freeman 'as one of the sport's top young coaches,' but did say that new defensive coordinator Chris Ash has 'big shoes' to fill replacing Al Golden. Put all this together, Notre Dame has one of the brighter immediate futures in college football, as just four others teams are viewed as being potentially better. It's going to a be a great few years of Irish football, starting very soon.
