Published: Invalid Date,
ROKU has unveiled a brand new duo of streaming devices - and they're cheaper than their Amazon Fire Stick rival.
Both of Roku 's fresh Streaming Sticks provide access to the biggest apps around, as well as some hidden gems packed with free TV and channels to watch instantly.

The Roku Streaming Stick and Roku Streaming Stick Plus replace the existing Roku Express and Roku Express 4K gadgets, promising "more features at the same affordable price points".
Cheapest of the bunch is the Roku Streaming Stick at £29.99 / $29.99, costing less than Amazon 's equivalent, the Fire TV Stick HD which currently retails for £39.99 / $34.99.
This entry-level HD model has some key changes, such as improved Wi-Fi connectivity so you're less likely to have buffering issues that interrupt your favourite shows.
And for the first time at this price point for Roku you'll get a voice-enabled remote control too so you can easily find content faster, as well as change the volume and power on the TV.
For those who want the best picture quality, the Roku Streaming Stick Plus brings you 4K and vivid HDR colour.
It costs £10 / $10 more, totalling £39.99 / $39.99.
The streaming gadget giant also claims that its sticks are among the most compact around, coming in at 35 per cent smaller than rivals "without compromising performance or speed".
Both devices are powered directly by the TV so you will have less annoying cables hanging around too.
These new products will offer access to the same selection of content, which includes a load of free services.
Roku has its own offering called The Roku Channel, which includes a number of originals and "premium entertainment".

SWAP YOUR STREAMS TO SAVE!
Here's some bill-slashing advice from The Sun's tech editor Sean Keach...
If you're like me, you'll be paying out more than you'd like on subscriptions each month.
It's easy to lose track of where all the money goes, and the fear of missing out makes it hard to bin Netflix.
But if you're paying for several streaming services, you're making a big mistake.
Instead, try something called stream swapping.
Cancel all of your TV subscriptions except for Netflix, then burn through all of the telly you want to watch on the app.
Then cancel that and sign up for another service, like Disney+.
Watch all of the good stuff there and then move on, perhaps to Amazon Video.
Do this with three or four apps and then cycle back to Netflix at the start.
This way, you get to watch all of the top content on each app but you're not paying for them all at the same time.
And you might even get to take advantage of some attractive sign-up offers too.
It could save you hundreds each year if you stick to it.

See if someone is spying on your exact location & watching every move with little-known phone setting
Sean Keach, Head of Technology and Science Published: Invalid Date, MILLIONS of iPhones have a must-know feature that can expose and block anyone spying on your location. It's built into your iPhone as standard but it's tucked away in the Settings app – so it's easy to miss. You can use it to review who your location is being shared with, including specific people or apps. The feature is called Safety Check and it's on any iPhone running iOS 16 software or later. You can check if you've got that by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Then you can dive into Safety Check to see if you're being snooped on. HOW DOES LOCATION SPYING WORK? Your location can be accessed in two main ways on an iPhone. The first is with location sharing through Find My. That's when your exact location is being shared with another person in real-time – viewable as a dot on a map. There are two ways this might be happening without your knowledge. One is that you set it up for someone years ago – maybe an ex partner – and simply forgot to switch it off. The other is that someone with access to your iPhone set it up without your knowledge. The second way your location can be shared on an iPhone is with an app. iPhone 16e review – I've secretly tested Apple's cheapest mobile and I love the new button but that's not the best bit Loads of apps will be making good use of your location. Think Uber for taxis, Google Maps for driving, or WhatsApp for sharing your location on the way to an event. But some apps might use your location for nefarious means. If you've ever downloaded a dodgy app by accident, it could be a ploy by crooks to track you. So if you've installed an obscure calculator app that never seemed to work properly, always seems to "crash", and has constant access to your location, that's a red flag. 4 On top of that, someone else with access to your phone might have installed a location-spying app. So if there's an app that you don't recognise with access to your location, that's also a very worrying sign. Similarly, you'll also want to make sure that your app accounts are locked down. If someone else has access to an app that can track your location, they might also be able to find out where you are. WHAT CAN SAFETY CHECK LIMIT? You can switch off access to the following... Bluetooth Calendars Camera Contacts Files and Folders Health Local Network Location Services Media and Apple Music Microphone Motion & Fitness Photos Reminders Research Speech Recognition Picture Credit: Apple / The Sun HOW TO USE SAFETY CHECK Safety Check is a way to quickly check up on all of your location sharing, and then shut it off if you like. Just go into Settings > Privacy & Security > Safety Check. You'll be guided through a process that shows you all of the ways that you're sharing your location (and other important info, like photos) with people. And you'll be given the option to deny access – to both people and apps. 4 There's also a more extreme Emergency Reset option that immediately stops sharing all info. And if you're trying to do all of this quietly, there's a Quick Exit button in the corner. That immediately saves your progress and closes the Settings app. Then you can pick it up again later when you're able to. 4

Sky customers can unlock extra TV channels, movies and shows for FREE – I found three easy ways to bag bonus telly
STREAM COME TRUE Sky customers can unlock extra TV channels, movies and shows for FREE – I found three easy ways to bag bonus telly Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SKY customers looking for some fresh telly on the cheap can easily unlock bonus TV channels, movies and shows. If you're not content with the regular channels on offer, there are some free ways to get even more TV on your screen. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 There are loads of great ways to watch free TV on Sky Credit: Sean Keach / The Sun 4 Xumo Play is an easy way to unlock dozens of live channels Credit: Sean Keach / The Sun There are three apps on your Sky TV that can give you extra telly to watch. You can find them right in the Apps & Inputs folder on your Home Screen. If you can't see them right away, you might need to scroll right to the end. FREE SKY TV APPS First up is Xumo Play, which has over 75 channels available to watch for free. The catch is that you'll need to sit through ads – but that's the case with most Sky TV channels anyway. Load up the app and you'll be able to scroll through a special bonus TV guide with loads of channels. That includes a Xumo Movies channel (with some "originals), plus Sky Sports Classics, Dateline 24/7, and a Mythbusters channel. It also has loads of on-demand TV shows and movies too. It doesn't carry the big names you might find on Netflix or Disney+, but it's a great way to find a cheesy film for movie night. The second app worth taking a look at for free telly is called U. Its official description reads: "Whether you love documentaries, crave comedy or want to lose yourself in a great drama – whatever you want to watch, whenever you want to watch it." Sky expert reveals top tricks to get the best out of your telly U is packed with on-demand content across for loads of different TV shows. For instance, you can watch The Office, Would I Lie To You?, I'm Alan Partridge, Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, Doctor Foster, MasterChef Australia, Prison Break, and The Bill. It's all content from UKTV's free-to-air channels like U&Dave, U&Drama, U&W, and U&Yesterday. There's no subscription fee, but you will need to register for an account before you can watch any telly. 4 U has a massive library of on-demand content Credit: Sean Keach / The Sun The app is pretty easy to navigate, and there's almost a lifetime of telly on there. Third on the list is STV Player, which does have two paid-for packages – but can be accessed totally free. The free TV tier gets you live TV (including entertainment telly), plus catch-up content. You'll have to sign up first and also sit through ads, but there's no fee to pay. You can remove ads for £3.99 a month and wrap in Premier Sports for £16.99 a month. 4 STV Player is full of telly available to watch on-demand and free of charge Credit: Sean Keach / The Sun But if you just want some free telly, it's a decent option. It features MasterChef USA, Undercover Boss Canada, loads of history and documentaries, as well as '90s classic Byker Grove. Once you start using these apps, they should appear closer to the front of your apps list. That'll make them easier to find next time. It's an easy way to get more out of the Sky service that you're already pay for.
