29 Summer Sandals To Replace Your Worn-Out Pair

29 Summer Sandals To Replace Your Worn-Out Pair

Buzz Feed11-05-2025

Lace-up wedge sandals that'll help you perfectly recreate Megara's fabulous look from Hercules — and who wouldn't want to look as cool as she does??? They also feature a non-slip rubber sole, so if you fall on your face, that's on YOU, girly. 😂
Stylish slides with double buckles that are more than just a pretty face — they are actually adjustable (gasp!), so even if you typically fall into a "wide foot" range, you can still rock these!
Or extra-wide-width strappy sandals you'll enjoy even if you DON'T typically have a wide foot — they're a great travel option if your feet tend to swell while flying. These straps add a little *~somethin' somethin'~* to a typical sandal, don't ya think?
Aerothotic flip-flops that'll check every last box on your list of footwear concerns — they have soft straps, serious arch support (shout out to their gel insoles), a sweat-resistant footbed, and come in a bunch of lovely colors!
Double-buckle slides for anyone who adores the look of Birkenstocks but has a more *~footloose and fancy-free ~* style when it comes to their footwear choices. These are just as comfortable but come in some more playful styles.
Some slip-on platform wedges in case you're hoping to literally elevate your style, starting with your spring/summer shoes. Chunky espadrille sandals are exactly what you need to kickstart your warm-weather fashion overhaul — they're so comfortable one reviewer even boasted about being able to limbo in them. 😅
Huarache sandals you can count on to put a little pep in your step even if you're on your way to somewhere not-so-fun like the dentist — your tootsies will look cuter than ever!
Strappy chunky heels with a square toe that'll make you wanna show off those tootsies from dawn to dusk. They're super versatile, come in so many fun shades, and will take you straight to Compliment City the next time you wear 'em around your friends.
Or a flat braided pair in case you love the *lewk* but have zero interest in wearing heels all day (I certainly couldn't!). These give off high-end energy but are so affordable you won't cry into your rosé if you spill something on them.
Steve Madden slides you'll happily slip in and out of all summer long whether you're planning to take a midday stroll or are off to a pal's to enjoy a daiquiri by the pool. Cheers to you and your new shoes, dahhhhling.
Cushioned sandals featuring thick straps and a supportive sole for those occasions where you want to rock cute footwear but also would rather not end up with blisters galore.
Simple leather slides you can count on to go with *everything* and never go out of style — you truly can't go wrong investing in a pair of these bad boys.
Handmade leather sandals with a minimalist look to them that'll leave you reaching for them over and over. The leather insoles will soften over time so, just like your favorite bottle of wine, these will get better with age.
Classic jelly sandals you'll get tons of praise for since they are totally having *a moment* right now. Go ahead and relive your childhood even though you're an adult with a full-time job and bills.
Colorful Tevas for anyone who *already* has a pair they've loved and adored so much that they're basically in shambles — treat yourself to new ones this summer so you can get back to traipsing along a rocky trail without the need to break out sneakers.
Squishy slide-on slippers that are primarily meant to be worn at home — and that's OK because they're so ridiculously comfortable you won't want to risk wearing them outdoors too much. These delectable little marshmallow–like slip-ons must be protected at all costs!
Chunky sandals for all my '90s babies who are still not over the return of this trend — the chunky heel and platform sole will take your style *~to the next level~* while paying homage to the ones you used to run around in during the summer of 1998.
Block-heel sandals with a stylish slingback design that'll replace the basic pair you wore down into the ground while parading through countless weddings and baby showers last summer.
Reef two-strap sandals that'll make you stop what you're doing the second you try 'em on so you can call your bestie and tell her you've found your sole-mate. They're made of vegan leather and have cushy, rubber sole that'll make you feel more supported than ever.
Classic Adidas slides you've likely coveted since your teen years when all the cool athletes wore them throughout the halls on game days (couldn't possibly just be my school, right?), Anyways, they're perfect for slipping on in a hot second when your dog is begging to go out, for a jaunt in Target, or to grab a quick coffee.
Braided Plaka sandals for anyone who has always prided themselves on curating a flawless boho look and making it seem effortless. The straps on these beauties are adjustable, so no need to fret over any potential rubbing!
Elastic strap sandals you'll love as much as your favorite pair of leggings — and for similar reasons! They're super stretchy and will perfectly fit around your feet without digging in like a toddler who was just given an ice cream sundae. You're going to love wearing these everywhere and anywhere!
Faux leather slip-ons with Hermès vibes (ooh, la la) because you deserve to feel fancy-schmancy without dumping your entire savings into a shoe purchase. The H-shape is timeless and will pair beautifully with all of your go-to summer looks, I promise.
Sorel Kinetic sandals I can honestly imagine wearing when we all finally make the move to living on the space station with Zenon. Zetus lapetus, these shoes are so cute!
Skechers rhinestone slingbacks that'll prove once and for all that shoes can be practical and dazzling simultaneously. These bejeweled beauties have a stretchy back strap to keep 'em in place and a yoga foam base that'll make you feel like you're walking on clouds.
Crocs platform wedges, you'll take one look at 'em and be like, "No waaaaay, these are related to those clogs," and yet, they certainly are! Reviewers rave about how walkable they are and love wearing them while traveling.
Supportive hiking sandals to help you channel your inner Sporty Spice without sacrificing your personal style. The braided straps are so fun (and adjustable!), and the entire shoe has been designed around arch support. The next time someone says, "Take a hike!" you can say, "I THINK I JUST MIGHT!"
Dr. Martens fisherman sandals because why should you only be able to rock your favorite brand of shoes during the cooler seasons? These will help you transition out of your badass boots during the hot summer months.
And Sanuk Yoga Mat flip-flops you'll be so impressed by — they're literally crafted from the same yoga mat material you collapse onto and stare at the ceiling after an intense session (that's the best part of any class, IMO). The material is super grippy so if you're prone to sweaty feet you won't have to think twice about slipping and sliding while you're out and about.

‘Tone deaf' influencer ripped over mistakenly buying $13K shoes: ‘So many people starving'

A Sydney woman has caused a divide by sharing how she accidentally spent $13,000 on shoes during a cost-of-living crisis. Elle Salagaras, 29, lives in Sydney and runs the popular TikTok account Eastern Suburbs Mum, which has racked up over 2 million likes. While many influencers, particularly mums, build their audience on being relatable, Ms Salagaras instead shares her affluent life with followers. Instead of going with the warts and all social media overshare approach, the 29-year-old is likelier to share content about her Birkin bag. Naturally, she took to social media to share the moment she spent far more than she bargained for at the luxury store Hermes. 3 A Sydney woman has caused a divide by sharing how she accidentally spent $13,000 on shoes during a cost-of-living crisis. TikTok/@elle_easternsuburbsmum Salagaras explained that she decided to purchase a pair of the brand's iconic Chypre Sandals. The starting price for this design is just over $1700, but the cost goes up depending on the material used. The young mum picked up a particularly expensive pair, worth $13,155, made from crocodile and sheep skin. 3 Salagaras explained that she decided to purchase a pair of Hermes' iconic Chypre Sandals. Instagram/@elle_easternsuburbsmum The slides look casual and cosy, not unlike Birkenstocks, but the pair Salagaras purchased cost more than what some people spend on their cars. Salagaras then made a TikTok showing off her new shoes and calling them 'gorg,' but she admitted that she didn't expect to spend that much. After waving the shoes around in front of the camera, she explained that she'd never intended to outlay so much. 3 'We are committing to the shoe. I should have known Hermes,' she said. TikTok/@elle_easternsuburbsmum 'I definitely got very confused about the price, which is my fault. I had heard one number … so embarrassing,' she said. Salagaras said she already had them on her feet when she went to the checkout because she planned to wear them out of the store. When she heard the price, she was thrown, but she just said, 'It's fine,' and bought them anyway. 'We are committing to the shoe. I should have known Hermes,' she said. Salagaras didn't mention how much they cost, but people looked them up and quickly expressed their shock. 'The price. I'm dead,' one wrote. 'The price! Oh my god,' another said. It wasn't just people freaking out over the price, people were also sharing how much they loved the shoes. One praised them as 'so pretty,' and another called them 'stunning,' but others just couldn't get over how much she spent on the sandals. Someone called it 'ridiculous' to spend that much, another called her sharing her expensive shoes 'embarrassing,' and others just claimed the shoes were 'ugly' and certainly not worth the price tag. 'What utter nonsense,' one complained. 'No footwear is worth that amount of money,' someone else argued. 'So many people starving in Australia and she goes and buys these (because) she makes heaps of money from her 52,000 followers. Disgusting,' another complained. Someone else said it was 'tone-deaf' for her to post about spending that much on shoes, and another claimed she was 'showing off,' which they found offensive. Meanwhile, Salagaras wasn't letting the negative feedback get her down. She posted a TikTok of herself dancing with her $13,000 sandals to the tune of Britney Spears.

28 Amazon Shoes That Help Prevent Blisters And Pain

A reissue of the iconic Steve Madden slinky sandal because the '90s called and demanded we *all* get back to our roots, i.e., try our best to look like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Next purchase up: a leather trench. Promising review: "I've never had even an inkling of a blister nor any discomfort, stumbling, or anything even beginning to come apart. The stretchy upper fits snugly and comfortably, but not so stretchy as to allow your feet to slide around at all. They don't budge in these shoes, but instead are given a sort of foot-hug feeling as they're held in place." —JJ Price: $89 (available in sizes 5–11 and six colors) Ariat leather Western boots that require zero break-in time right out of the box and conform to your foot more and more with each wear. A glove in shoe form. Promising review: "I wore these boots for five hours and they were so comfortable--didn't even have to break them in and no blisters. I am sure the more I wear them, the more they will conform to my foot, but right out of the box? Perfect." —J. HarmanPrice: $159.95+ (available in sizes 5.5–9.5, wide fits, and four colors) Chunky platform sandals to zhuzh up any outfit, whether a white tee and denim shorts or a fancier mini dress. The fashion world = now your oyster. Promising review: "Comfortably soft leather without breaking in — I wore them for a girls' long weekend in Chicago where we walked 10+ miles a day. No blisters, no discomfort, good cushioning from the thick sole, and I really enjoyed the slightly chunky look." —Charlene AbramsPrice: $79 (available in sizes 5.5–10 and five colors) Sporty hiking sandals with a similar grip to your favorite hiking books but take up a *fraction* of the space in your carry-on. Over 20,000 reviews rave that these provide excellent arch support and durable traction. Adidas tennis shoes that are no-frills, no-fuss, and you'll never ever get sick of them. What more can we say? They're everywhere for a reason. Promising review: "Got it for Europe trip, three weeks. I had my old pair from five years ago, and I love how comfy it is; I wanted a new pair for our vacation. It was comfy, no looks good with everything and can go from day to night, even with a dress. I wore it walking the three cities in Cinque Terre, it got dusty but with a little soap and light brush/wash, it looks new again. Highly recommended. I would buy from here again." —ESJPrice: $70+ (available in sizes 4.5–14 and 26 colors) Knit flats you can toss in the wash when they need a good cleaning, and et voila, they'll emerge looking brand spankin' new. Bonus points: the flexible knit fabric means they're easy to pack in a cramped carry-on. Ankle strap flats capable of inspiring even Dorothy to ditch those ruby red slippers for a more practical (but still stylish) option. Chic London Fog rain booties that have me contemplating a cross-country move to Seattle, Washington for an excuse to don these daily. All I want to do is wear. these. boots. and jump! in! puddles! Water-resistant Dr. Scholl's slip-on sneakers we're dubbing our favorite travel shoe because not only are these great for hours-long walks through new cities, but they're also excellent for the airport security line — it takes a second to slip 'em off and put 'em back on. Cushionaire sandals that have amassed over 55,000 5-star ratings, many of which call out the passed insole for providing supreme comfort and support. The best part? A knockout pricetag, currently going for $34.99. Suede clogs with over 4,000 stellar reviews stating how undeniably comfortably these shoes are — your feet deserve nothing but the best comfort and support footwear can offer, and these deliver. Reebok walking sneakers dubbed by one reviewer as a Jerry Seinfeld shoe — they didn't mean it as an insult and frankly neither do we. Promising review: "I actually bought these after my co-worker let me borrow them during our trip to Vegas where I quickly realized my Vans were intolerable. Shoutout to her for putting me on these because I love them. They go with everything and they're my most comfortable shoe now." —MarleePrice: $79.99+ (available in sizes 5–11 and three colors) A pair of cowboy boots to put the "yee" in your "haw." Plus, reviewers note that these run wider than your average cowboy boots, i.e., your toes won't feel squished toward the front if you weren't born with a narrow footbed (neither was I, it's okay). Blondo Villa ankle booties you'll be able to pack for casual sightseeing in the morning and afternoon and fancier, chic evening outings. Consider this the epitome of a "day-to-night" fashion stape. Walked in them every day for a week, about 20,000 steps a day in a very urban setting (using public transit etc.) and they were pretty great. When I first put them on there was a string rubbing around the toe area, but I trimmed it down and then had no problems. They didn't rub my feet or cause any blisters at all. I was amazed." —AriPrice: $55.73+ (available in sizes 5–14 and 51 colors) Pointed toe, ankle-strap pumps you can consider the first step in building your capsule footwear collection. These beauties are impeccable in their simplicity, are available in several neutral hues, and are comfortable to boot. Promising review: "I was hesitant to buy these heels. I decided to go for it, and I'm so glad I did!! They are super lightweight, comfortable, and stay on well without slipping. I love the adjustable strap around the ankle, too. They don't hurt my feet or ankles while walking. I'm probably ordering another color. I've gotten lots of compliments my first time wearing them!!" —Holly HobbsPrice: $33.29+ (available in sizes 5–11 and 13 designs) Ergonomic FitFlops designed with an air-foam material that retains a lightweight, cushiony feel so you feel like you're springing into each next step. Pillow-like slides so cloud-like, you'll forget you're not actually wearing clouds on your feet. Reviewers love how comfortable they are (look at that cushioning below 👀) and they'll be your go-tos for lounging at home or the pool. A pointed-toe flat that is basically a blazer in footwear form. Throwing these on with any old outfit = instantly profesh. Western boots I'd argue are better than a roundtrip ticket to Nashville (no security lines, no having to pay for a carry-on at the gate, etc.). A comfortable, chunky heel coupled with jersey lining, an anti-skid sole, and pull tabs make these knee-highs a dream. Promising review: "These boots are great! Very comfortable. I have thick calves and they fit great, not tight at all. They stay up and don't slouch, so they keep their shape well. I am a mama of very active children, and these boots are perfect for when I want to look a little more put together and not have to worry about them getting scuffed and costing me a lot of $$$. Great to wear casual or dressed up." —Amazon Customer Price: $62.99+ (available in sizes 6–11 and seven colors) Columbia hiking boots because perfection really does exist, and it's both stylish *and* functional. Reviewers can't stop raving about the solid quality, out-of-the-box comfort, and excellent traction that these waterproof babies offer. Psst, most reviewers recommend ordering a half size up! Promising review: "These shoes are phenomenal. The lacing holds tight, so if I wear light socks, my foot doesn't shift. However, there's plenty of room to wear wool or fluffier socks. For me, they DID NOT NEED BREAKING IN. This is huge. I hate buying any kind of shoe that has a 'breaking-in period.' These were great from the get-go. I tried them on a moderate 5-mile hike on a rugged Washington (state) trail. No blisters. I put them to the test today on an 8-mile hike up a steep incline, and holy cow. They were amazing." —Stevie Price: $48.14+ (available in sizes 5–12, including wide fits, and 10 colors) Doc Marten lace-up boots that I personally started wearing in high school and, well, never stopped. These require a short breaking-in period, but once completed, you'll be throwing on these all-weather shoes every day. New Balance Women's Fresh Foam Running Shoes with an ultra-supportive design for your cardio workouts and beyond — reviewers say they're comfy and don't require a break-in period. How great is it to have a shoe you can wear for running errands *or* actual running at the gym? Thigh-high boots that are the perfect compromise: They look ultra-dressy but manage to be unbelievably comfortable, ergo you can look chic and put together without having to feel like you're wobbling around on stilts. Promising review: "I decided to give these a try because of the price, and I'm so glad I did! I was very impressed by the quality of the material, as well as how comfortable they are. I am very picky about my shoes and typically do not buy shoes that are not name brand." —WhitneyPrice: $39.99+ (available in sizes 5.5–11 and 18 colors) Sanuk Yoga Mat flip-flops reviewers say "j'adore" to thanks to impressive durability and a cushioning that mimics yoga mat material. These babies have been worn by travelers throughout trips to Europe, Southeast Asia, and more, all with stellar marks. Strappy platform pumps for your next night out or special occasion. Imagine you on the dance floor in these comfy babies? You definitely wouldn't miss those uncomfy black heels sitting in your closet. Promising review: "I typically like to get shoes that are under three inches because I find high heels to be very uncomfortable. But these shoes are the exception. About 5 inches high, these heels are very comfortable and very, very cute. I wore these shoes during my graduation yesterday, and my feet did not hurt even after walking for much of the day. Note that I didn't even break these shoes in (it was my first time wearing them), and yet they were very comfortable on the first wear! I would 10 out of 10 recommend this! Get yourself these shoes if you are looking for an easy-to-wear pair of cute heels." —Danielle $41.99+ (available in sizes 5–12 and 18 colors) Chelsea boots that, despite having a generous heel, are comfortable enough to walk around in all darn day. These are perfect for weekends fueled by coffee runs and trips to the bookstore. Promising review: "I really like these shoes a lot — they're incredibly comfortable for being heeled boots and I can stand in them all day at work. While I've only gone through one winter with these so far (in Chicago), they still look great! I also sprayed them with water protectant, and it didn't affect the suede material at all, so I would 10/10 recommend these." —SarasriPrice: $32.99+ (available in sizes 5–11 and eight colors)

9 Summer Dress and Flat Shoe Outfit Ideas for 2025

As we head into summer, my daily outfit formula consists of a summer dress worn with a pair of sandals. It's an easy, throw-on 'fit that saves me valuable time in the morning (no more pulling everything out of my wardrobe trying to find something to wear), while still looking put-together and – most importantly – stylish. Whether I'm headed to the office or out with friends to make the most of the sunshine, it works no matter the occasion. Plus, with so many sandal trends this season, from flip-flops to crochet styles and wedges, there are endless ways to keep the look feeling fresh. But what about those days when I don't want to get my toes out? Like in the run-up to my pedicure appointment. Unfortunately, hiding my feet in my UGG slippers isn't an option, not least because of how sweaty I'd get. Sure, you could always wear your sandals with socks. Or, why not try one of these closed-toe, flat shoe alternatives – because who's *actually* wearing heels day-to-day?! From mesh ballet flats and boat shoes to Birkenstocks and Mary Janes, there are just as many trending shoes around this szn. We promise, when paired with a dress, these flats make for just as fab an outfit! Mesh flats are still big news in summer 2025! Okay, depending on the color and how tightly woven the mesh is, this shoe may still flash more toe than you're after... But it's a nice compromise between a sandal and a closed-toe shoe. Ballet flats are a wardrobe essential, as far as we're concerned. Whether yours have a pointed or almond toe, are classic black or any colour of the rainbow, they'll work seamlessly with any dress in your wardrobe. Mini, maxi, casual, dressy – you name it. If you've been wanting to jump on the boat shoes trend since the fisherman aesthetic first went viral on TikTok earlier this year but you've been struggling to work out just how to wear them without feeling like Captain Birdseye, a denim dress is the answer. Feminine enough without being too much of a contrast. You're welcome. Often possessing a sleek silhouette, flat mules are an eternally elegant option. Despite their closed-toe design, a slip-on mule promises breathability thanks to its open back. No heel blisters here! A dress and trainers is a go-to combo for good reason. We love how the sporty connotations and chunkier silhouette of a sneaker toughen up even the most feminine of floaty dresses. Plus, you don't have to worry about compromising on comfort! Your fisherman sandals work just as well in summer as they did in spring when styled with a loose-fitting mini for cool, casual vibes. The same applies for Mary Janes, with the shorter hemline showing off the shoe's signature foot strap. A simple linen shift dress will stop them feeling too twee. It's been hard to miss the return of the boho revival, but if a stacked wooden clog wedge sandal à la Sienna Miller doesn't feel wearable (a totally reasonable conclusion to make, those heels are pretty high), turn to your trusty Birks for a flat shoe equivalent. For an office-ready look, loafers instantly add a smarter feel to any dress, along with tapping into the current trend for corporate-core. They're the perfect shoe to make your Christmas sequins feel summer-appropriate, too. Follow Alex on Instagram. Alexandria Dale is the Digital Fashion Writer at Cosmopolitan UK.
