Why Beyoncé and Jay-Z keep son Sir Carter out of the public eye

Express Tribune11-02-2025

Beyoncé and Jay-Z's twin son, Sir Carter, continues to remain absent from public appearances, unlike his sisters, Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter, who have been seen at high-profile events.
Fans noticed Sir's absence again when Jay-Z attended Super Bowl LIX with Blue Ivy and Rumi, sparking curiosity about why he remains out of the spotlight.
Since their birth in 2017, the twins have rarely been seen in public. Unlike Blue Ivy, who has been a public figure since birth, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have made a concerted effort to protect their twins' privacy. Sir and Rumi have only appeared briefly in Beyoncé's documentaries, Homecoming and Making The Gift, as well as in limited promotional content for Ivy Park.
In a 2024 interview with GQ Magazine, Beyoncé emphasized her dedication to keeping her children's lives private. She stated, 'One thing I've worked extremely hard on is making sure my kids have as much normalcy and privacy as possible.'
Beyoncé's parents, Tina and Mathew Knowles, have offered insight into Sir's personality, describing him as 'laid back and quiet,' in contrast to his outgoing sister, Rumi. Jay-Z previously shared that the twins' names reflect their personalities, with Sir carrying himself with a strong presence.
While Beyoncé and Jay-Z's daughters have taken center stage, Sir Carter's absence appears to be a conscious decision by his parents to provide him with a more private upbringing. As the twins grow, it remains to be seen whether Sir will step into the public eye or continue to maintain a low profile.

Beyoncé helps couple reveal baby's gender onstage during Cowboy Carter Tour in New Jersey

Beyoncé added a personal touch to her Cowboy Carter Tour by helping a couple reveal the sex of their baby live onstage. The moment took place on night four of her tour stop at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. During her performance, Beyoncé noticed a fan's sign that read, 'First born, Carter. Gender reveal. Right now?' She acknowledged the request, said she would return, and left the stage briefly. Later in the show, Beyoncé, dressed in a black jumpsuit with flared American flag-themed bottoms, kept her promise. Holding the couple's sealed envelope, she said, 'I'mma take my time,' before revealing the result. As the camera zoomed in on the note inside, she read aloud, 'It's a boy! God bless you. Congratulations.' She added, 'Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it,' to the cheering crowd. The heartfelt moment was captured and shared widely on social media, including a post by her mother, Tina Knowles. Tina Knowles recently spoke about Beyoncé's love for her children and downtime offstage, explaining how the singer enjoys dancing and spending time with her family when not touring.

Beyoncé removes Las Vegas Sphere from tour visuals after cease-and-desist, replaces with Allegiant Stadium

Beyoncé has replaced the Las Vegas Sphere in her Cowboy Carter tour visuals after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from Sphere Entertainment Group. The imagery, which originally appeared in an interlude during her concert, showed a digitally enhanced Beyoncé interacting with a miniature version of the high-tech venue. According to Billboard, Sphere Entertainment Group requested its removal, stating the footage was used without permission and created misleading assumptions about a potential future residency. The group also claimed they were not contacted for permission and objected to the prominence of their property in the video. In response, Beyoncé has swiftly updated the visuals to now feature Allegiant Stadium, where she is scheduled to perform on 25 and 26 July. The adjustment removes any reference to the Sphere, which has previously hosted residencies for U2 and The Eagles and will soon expand to Abu Dhabi. Reports suggest that Sphere CEO James Dolan had previously tried to secure a Beyoncé residency at the venue, though her summer Las Vegas dates will take place at Allegiant Stadium instead. The Cowboy Carter tour, which began on 28 April at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, has received widespread praise. Beyoncé performs a 36-track set highlighting her March 2024 album, alongside several theatrical visuals and special guest appearances. The tour continues through the US, UK, and Europe, including six dates at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in June.
