Liam Payne's Girlfriend On What She Finds 'So Chilling' About Last Conversation With Singer
Liam Payne's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, is shedding new light on their last moments together.
The late One Director singer was found dead in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October, just days after Cassidy and Payne spent time together for the last time.
Cassidy revealed the details of their last conversations in a new interview on Jay Shetty's 'On Purpose,' released on Wednesday.
'I remember sitting there with him and I was going on and on and on and saying to Liam how much I love him,' she shared of her time in Argentina with Payne. 'He laughed and he interrupted me and he just said, 'Kate, like, you're gonna miss your flight. Your car is in the driveway. You're acting like this is the last time you're ever going to see me again.''
'I just laughed back. I was just like, 'I know. I'm being silly! I need to get in the car, I can't miss my flight,'' she said, adding that 'to even look back in time and just know that really was the last time I was able to see him again is just so chilling.'
'But, in a way, I think that the way that we said goodbye to each other, I'm so blessed, and this is where I get that peace from it,' she said, explaining that she 'wouldn't have wanted it to be' any different.
'I'm so glad that we had that last beautiful moment together,' Cassidy added.
Cassidy said last month that she still finds it 'really hard to accept' Payne's untimely death.
'I find myself talking about him so much in the present tense,' she shared on the British morning show 'Lorraine.' 'I don't even feel the need to correct myself because that's part of my healing journey. I'm still working on accepting the fact that he's not here anymore, so it's hard for me to refer to him in the past tense.'
Payne died after a fall from his hotel's third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires.
A toxicology report later concluded that the 31-year-old had multiple substances in his system at the time of his death, including cocaine, crack cocaine and benzodiazepines.
The report also indicated the presence of 'pink cocaine,' which refers to a cocktail of drugs that can include substances like ketamine, MDMA, methamphetamine, and sometimes caffeine or opioids.
Payne leaves behind an 8-year-old son, named Bear, whom he shared with his ex-partner, singer Cheryl Cole.

Princess Diana at Trooping the Colour Through the Years
Princess Diana attended Trooping the Colour 12 times during her time in the British Royal Family and her appearances at the annual event will always have a place in our hearts. Trooping the Colour commemorates the official state birthday of the British monarch and on June 14, it will celebrate King Charles III. However, in Diana's time, Queen Elizabeth II was celebrated at Trooping the Colour. During the event, the Royal Family forms a parade outside Buckingham Palace, waving to crowds as they pass by on carriages or on horseback. Diana attended her first ever Trooping the Colour in 1981, when she was just 19 years old. At the time, Diana was engaged to King Charles III, who was still a prince. She rode in a carriage alongside Prince Andrew while her fiancé rode on horseback past the adoring crowds. Charles and Diana married the following month, shortly after the Princess of Wales' 20th birthday. Over the next 11 years, Diana attended the event pregnant, as a new mom and then as a proud parent of Prince William and Prince Harry. Though no one knew it at the time, 1992 was Diana's last ever Trooping the Colour. By the end of that year, Buckingham Palace announced that she and Charles were separating. Soon after, Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles' long-rumored affair was confirmed and, in 1996, Diana and Charles divorced before the beloved princess tragically died the following year. Diana's time in the Royal Family was tumultuous and often proved challenging for the Princess of Wales, however, Trooping the Colour always seemed like a joyous day for the People's Princess and her sons. We're looking back at every time Princess Diana attended the Trooping the Colour. Thankfully, the Queen and her horse were unharmed and the day otherwise ran according to plan. In 1982, almost a year after marrying Prince Charles, Diana attended Trooping the Colour while pregnant with Prince William. She gave birth to William 11 days later on June 21. Almost a year after becoming a mom for the first time, Diana joined her husband and the rest of the Royal Family back on the balcony. Still an infant, Prince William was not at the typically loud fly over. Here Queen Elizabeth is seen laughing joyously as the family waved to the crowd. In 1984, Princess Diana coordinated with Prince William in blue outfit for his first ever Trooping the Colour. She had announced that she was expecting her second baby in February. Princess Diana wore peach as she held Prince Harry on the balcony to watch his first Trooping the Colour flyover. A young Prince William is seen at the center front of the balcony. Diana brought a pop of color to Trooping the Colour in 1986 when she wore a polka dot dress with a red straw hat. Then a toddler, Prince Harry stood up proudly on a colum to watch the festivities. In 1987, Diana wore white and happily tended to her boys while also chatting with Prince Andrew's wife, Sarah Ferguson. Prince Harry leaned on his mother's shoulder while standing on his favorite perch. William, meanwhile, looks uncannily like his son Prince Louis as he made faces from the balcony. It was another matching look for Harry and Diana in 1988 when they joined their family at Buckingham Palace. Diana was pretty in pink while the Queen opted for a purple-toned look in 1989. By this time, rumors of trouble in Charles and Diana's marriage were at an all time high but the couple were doing their best to keep up appearances in public. In this 1990 photo, Diana is seen in a pale green dress and hat while riding alongside her sons and Queen Elizabeth's mother in a carriage on the way to Buckingham Palace. In 1991, Diana wore a Catherine Walker suit, one of her most beloved designer, and a Philip Somerville hat. During her last ever Trooping of the Colour appearance, Diana looked poised while once again joined the Queen Mother and Prince Harry in a carriage.

How Meghan Markle Broke Royal Protocol at Her First Trooping the Colour
Meghan Markle's days of attending the annual Trooping the Colour ceremonies alongside the rest of the Royal Family are long over, but her first rule-breaking appearance is forever ingrained in history. The Duchess of Sussex made her Trooping the Colour debut in June 2018, a month after marrying Prince Harry in a lavish London ceremony, in a look that breached royal protocol. More from SheKnows Kate Middleton's 2025 Trooping the Color Look Honors Both Princess Diana & Queen Elizabeth II In case you need a refresher, Meghan donned a pastel pink Carolina Herrera ensemble, which included the iconic asymmetric silhouette. However, she broke a major royal rule: no off-the-shoulder looks at major royal events. You can see the photos below: As you can see, Meghan looked absolutely radiant on that day and nailed the unofficial pastel-colored dress code. However, this royal protocol rule-breaking shocked many. Bethan Holt even told The Telegraph at the time that Meghan's look 'will be compiled on her own terms. Hers is a 21st-century take on elegance that looks as pristine as is expected in her new royal role, but which also pushes some of the unspoken rules of the regal dress code.' The British royal family has a lot of dress code rules: no off-the-shoulder looks, you can't show your knees, nail polish has to be natural looking, wearing clutches in certain hands, and more, per Cosmopolitan. Now, obviously, Meghan isn't the first to break the off-the-shoulder rule. Back on July 19, 2017, when she donned an off-the-shoulder red gown from Alexander McQueen at The Queen's Birthday Party, and Diana donned this trend numerous times as a royal. Meghan then arrived at 2019 Trooping the Colour; she donned a dark navy ensemble from Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy, along with a fascinator by Noel Stewart, mere months after welcoming her son, Archie, per What Meghan Wore. By the time Trooping the Colour returned from its 2020 and 2021 hiatus, Meghan and Harry had relocated to the US after leaving the Royal Family, and amid an ongoing feud with Prince William and King Charles, the couple will not make their return this year. Per People, the couple are not invited to the festivities for a third year in a of SheKnows These Celebrity Couples Reportedly Sleep in Separate Beds 12 Times Kate Middleton Honored Queen Elizabeth II By Wearing Her Jewelry Every Look Kate Middleton Has Worn to Trooping the Colour Since 2011
