
TotalEnergies CAF U20 AFCON Technical Study Group and international scouts to meet the media in Cairo on Sunday, 11 May

Technical Study Group members Daniel Amokachi, Walter Steenbok and Mohamed Magassouba, as well as two international scouts, will hold a media briefing at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Sunday, 11 May to give their analysis of the TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The event will be held from 11:30 local time (08:30 GMT).
Romain Albaric, a scout for Swiss side FC Sion, and Bennard Yao Kumordzi, scout for Belgian outfit K.R.C. Genk, will also give their assessment of the matches and players in the tournament's group stages.
The vastly experienced quintet will offer perspective on their initial technical assessment of the competition, reveal tactical trends, analyse playing styles and who are the rising talents in the competition.
Amokachi is a former Nigeria international who played in the Premier League with Everton. He scored two goals as the Super Eagles impressed at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, and has also coached the national side.
Steenbok is a former Technical Director at the South African Football Association and is a vastly experienced coach who is well-respected on the continent.
Magassouba has been a coach for over three decades and was in charge of Mali between 2019 and 2022, having also previous led the Democratic Republic of Congo.
All five individuals will be able to offer key insights into the tournament and assist the media with in-depth analysis.

Jordan's Royal Family Celebrate 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualification
Rana Atef On Thursday, several members of the Jordanian Royal Family attended the game of Jordan's first national team that ended with a 3-0 victory for Jordan. This win led the Chivalrous Ones to the first FIFA World Cup qualification in their history. Princess Rajwa Al Hussein was seen accompanying the Jordanian royal family during the national team's match against Oman in Muscat, offering support to the team. Princess Rajwa wore a white jersey featuring the team's logo, designed by Kelme Jordan, which she paired with beige pinstriped trousers from British designer Victoria Beckham. She added a personal touch with a gold necklace engraved with her daughter Iman's name, and earrings featuring the Arabic letter 'أ', designed by Nadine Kanso. She appeared with Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, his brother Prince Hashem, as well as Princess Iman and Princess Salma. Crown Prince Hussein shared a video on his official Instagram account, capturing the excitement and cheering from the stands. CAF Launches TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON Stars Spotlight Webinar series to shine global light on women's football in Africa
Published: Thursday, 05 June 2025 As part of its commitment to elevating the profile of women's football in Africa, the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced the launch of a dynamic digital series titled the TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON Stars Spotlight Webinar. The initiative is part of CAF's broader efforts to amplify the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2024, scheduled to take place between 5 - 26 July. The TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON is CAF's flagship women's football competition and continues to experience exceptional growth in global viewership, fan attendance and commercial strength. Set to take place over three different segments on 9 June (French language), 16 June (Arabic) and 23 June (English), the webinar series will feature some of the continent's leading footballers alongside influential media voices in a compelling, multilingual format. Some of the international women's football stars will take part in the series, include reigning CAF Women's Footballer of the year Barbra Banda (Zambia), Fideline Ngoy (DR Congo), Safietou Sagna (Senegal), Doha El Madani (Morocco) and Thembi Kgatlana (South Africa), amongst others.
