Meet actress, who left big mansion, gave up Mercedes, travelled in Mumbai local trains after parents divorce, she is now..., her name is...
Shruti Hassan, the daughter of renowned actors Kamal Hassan and Sarika, recently opened up about her parents separation. The former couple got divorced in 2004, after 16 years of marriage. She called it one of the toughest phases in her life and explained how the experience shaped her into the person that she has become today. Despite coming from a film family, Shruti revealed that she never felt 'privilege' because life had grounded her down at a very young age.
Recalling her parents divorce, Shruti discussed with Filmfare, 'No, because a lot of people don't know what happened to me prior to me joining the film industry. I was humbled by life with my parents' separation. We were not living in the big mansion, and when my mom decided to leave, we moved from Chennai to Mumbai. It wasn't comfortable.'
Shruti further said that she is thankful for all the life lessons as they taught her about ups and downs. 'I am glad for those lessons because I learnt that you can go from Mercedes to the local train… like really quick in life. Both are a journey that you can learn from.' The Ramaiya Vastavaiya actress said.
During her initial days in the industry, Shruti was determined to build her own identity, than being know just as Kamal Hassan's daughter. 'I always had this sense of I want my own space, and I want to earn my own money, and I want my own independence.' She expressed.
Shruti admitted that she had a bit of an attitude but that never came from a place of superiority, but fear of being under confident. She said, 'I was a bit attitude-y. it was not from a place of thinking that I am better. It was completely from a place of fear and thinking I am lesser and projecting confidence.'
For the unversed, Shruti has a younger sister, Akshara. Meanwhile, on the professional front, the 39-year-old actress will be next seen in Tamil movie Coolie , starring alongside Rajinikanth.

Official! Keerthy Suresh's 'Revolver Rita' locks release date; aims THIS festival in August

The much-awaited release date of Keerthy Suresh 's next film 'Revolver Rita' has been announced. The film is set to hit theaters on 27 August, aligning with the celebration of Vinayagar Chaturthi. This official confirmation has encouraged the fans, who have been waiting for the update since the film's teaser, which was unveiled on Keerthy Suresh's birthday. With the prescribed release during a major festival, producers are expecting to attract large family audiences to theaters. Anticipated for Keerthy Suresh's strong comeback 'Revolver Rita' is an important film in Keerthy Suresh's career, especially after the lackluster reception her recent films have received. Her last Tamil outing, 'Raghu Thatha', was released in 2024, but failed to leave an impression at the box office. She then played the lead role in 'Baby John,' which was the Hindi remake of Vijay's 'Theri', which did not perform as expected. Despite the failures, Keerthy Suresh continues to work in diverse roles, and 'Revolver Rita' is expected to be shown in a bold and dynamic avatar. Stellar cast and crew raise expectations Directed by JK Chandru, who first helmed 'Naveena Saraswati Sabadham', 'Revolver Rita' boasts a unique story and an ensemble cast. Along with Keerthy Suresh, the film also stars Sunil, Ajay Ghosh, John Vijay , Redin Kingsley, Suresh Chakravarthy, and Blade Shankar . The technical team consists of cinematography by Dinesh Krishnan and music composed by Sean Roldan, as both bring a rich creative value to the project. Teaser generated great buzz After wrapping her shooting in 2024, 'Revolver Rita' has been in post-production for several months. The teaser indicated a bizarre, action-packed story, where Keerthy Suresh is playing a powerful, possibly eccentric character with Suresh. Now with its dramatic release, 'Revolver Rita' aims to offer a fresh cinematic experience to the audience.

The superstar said that he agreed to do the role without even reading the script since he is a huge fan of the superstar. In an interview with Zoom, Aamir, while answering a fan's question about his cameo, said, 'I really enjoyed doing it. I am big fan of Rajini fan. I have a lot of love and respect for Rajini sir. So, I did not even hear the script. When Lokesh told me that it is a Rajini sir's movie and that he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, 'Done. I am doing it. Whatever it is, I am doing it.' Notably, this comes just a week after the superstar confirmed his cameo in the film, followed by the announcement that he is teaming up with Lokesh for a big-scale superhero action film that is set to go into production in 2026. Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 7: Kamal Haasan's Film Struggles, Mints Rs 42 Crore In Week 1

Thug Life has witnessed a dip at the Indian box office. The Mani Ratnam film has minted Rs 1.25 crore on day 7, June 11. With this, the total collection of Thug Life stands at Rs 42.25 crore, reported Sacnilk. The film, which was released on June 5, faced tough competition from Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5 at the box office. Thug Life saw an 'overall 15.57% Tamil Occupancy,' the report added. The film has been backed by Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies. Trisha Krishnan, T.R. Silambarasan, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, and Mahesh Manjrekar are also part of the film. Kamal Haasan collaborated with Main Ratnam after 38 years for Thug Life. They last film together was Nayakan in 1987. Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter India, Kamal Haasan opened up about his admiration for Mani Ratnam. 'We both wrote the lm together. When I say we wrote it together, it's not the noise of two pens scribbling together. I nished what I perceived would be a good lm to make. I nished a script, and it was called 'Amar Hai', which is a pun. A man who is believed to be dead is not dead. His name is 'Amar', and that is the problem. I had etched it, and then Mani took it as an idea and went on to embellish it,' he said. Film critic Saibal Chatterjee, in his NDTV review, gave Thug Life 2 stars. He said. ' Thug Life isn't quite the kind of film that you expect to be a huge disappointment. In an era in which scepticism, even trepidation, precedes the decision to watch a movie that has blockbuster aspirations, a Mani Ratnam movie, no matter what genre it belongs to, is usually an exception. It generates both anticipation and excitement.'
