Self-service platform for issuing property title deeds launched
This initiative marks a significant shift in simplifying procedures. By enabling immediate issuance of ownership documents online, the ministry anticipates reducing the time spent on such services by over 70 per cent and cutting in-person visits by 60 per cent in the first year alone.
In addition to efficiency and speed, the initiative aligns with the ministry's sustainability goals. It complements a broader digital transition strategy that includes internal communications, external documentation and now the issuance of secure digital title deeds.
Each document is embedded with an electronic verification code, ensuring both accuracy and authenticity. Users can access the traditional version of their property deed through the 'Amlak' platform.
Dr Moamen bin Abdullah al Busaidy, Adviser to the Minister for Smart Cities, emphasised the significance of the launch, stating: 'This is a critical step towards a fully digital ownership system. Our ambition is for the majority of the public to adopt electronic title deeds by the end of next year. It will save both time and effort for users, who previously had to physically visit various service locations.'
Dr Al Busaidy added that the ministry is currently developing smart services designed to anticipate citizens' needs and deliver information and entitlements proactively — without requiring formal requests. Future enhancements will also enable mobile access to services and real-time interactions with intelligent data systems, further reducing the need to contact support staff directly.
Dr Rashid bin Mohammed al Ghilani, CEO of the Oman National Engineering and Investment Company (Oneic), which is partnering with the ministry on the project, commented: 'This strategic collaboration marks a transformative milestone in Oman's digital journey. We are committed to delivering secure and efficient technological solutions that enhance citizen experience and drive public sector innovation. We are proud of the trust placed in us by the ministry and look forward to further partnerships in line with Oman Vision 2040.
To maximise accessibility and inclusivity, the new service will gradually be rolled out across more than 300 locations. These include all ministry service halls, Oneic branches and self-service kiosks operating around the clock in all governorates. This expansive rollout is expected to improve operational efficiency and raise customer satisfaction levels to 95 per cent.

The Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources, in cooperation with MHUP and the private sector, is working to allocate land and develop investment plans to enhance food security and sustainable agricultural growth. Dhahirah has been identified as a promising hub for agricultural expansion due to its fertile land, favourable climate for fruit cultivation, and proximity to regional markets. Officials believe the projects will attract both commercial and small-scale investors.

Oman Film Society trains young filmmakers in AI-driven storytelling
Muscat – Oman Film Society has concluded a nine-day specialised workshop held in collaboration with Youth Centre aimed at equipping Omani youth with advanced skills in using artificial intelligence in filmmaking. Titled 'Experimenting with AI Filmmaking Skills', the workshop ran from July 20 to August 14 in three governorates – Muscat, North Sharqiyah and North Batinah – enabling aspiring filmmakers nationwide to participate. Over 75 young men and women took part in the sessions led by filmmaker and trainer Abdulaziz al Abri. Speaking to Muscat Daily, Abri said the training covered scriptwriting, visual composition, and the use of AI tools to generate and enhance cinematic content. Participants completed five practical projects, applying their skills to real-world scenarios. 'This workshop across three governorates was a platform to unleash the energies of talented and ambitious young people. The results achieved in just nine days are a source of pride and optimism,' he said. Abri noted that many participants adapted quickly to AI tools, producing work that demonstrated both creativity and technical proficiency. 'Integrating AI into filmmaking is no longer a luxury but an essential step to remain competitive in the global film industry,' he added. Oman Film Society stated that the initiative supports Oman Vision 2040's focus on innovation, youth empowerment and creative industries as drivers of economic diversification. The society plans to expand AI-based training, with future modules in animation, virtual production and digital editing. Industry observers believe such exposure will boost local content production and position Oman as a regional hub for innovative storytelling in the Gulf.

The event brought together decision-makers, innovators and specialists to examine transformative trends and solutions in the energy sector and smart facilities management. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, the seminar featured speeches from sector leaders.
