In the most recent, the new viral trend using water, haldi (turmeric), and mobile phone flash has left everyone talking. As easy as it seems, the trick requires nothing but putting a bit of turmeric powder into a glass of water standing on a bright flashlight. The glowing aftereffect is what has flooded Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
While many have dubbed the simple concept to be visually stunning and beautiful, a section of internet users are calling it out for being a hidden trick to attract evil. Behind the viral aesthetic also lies a growing wave of concerns from the spiritual community, with some even arguing that it mimics ancient occult rituals, thus opening doors to negative energy.
Amid the growing discussion over the viral turmeric-water experiment, a Kanpuriya take has left the internet laughing. A social media vlogger, Nafia Anas, recently took to Instagram and shared the video as she added a Kanpuriya twist to the trick. Joining in the bandwagon, Nafia too lit the flashlight and prepared a glass of water, only to replace turmeric powder with a packet of gutka (chewing tobacco).
Despite having created a similar vibe with proper lighting and music, the video's humourous addition left everyone in splits. One jokingly wrote, 'Such a beautiful scene. Mesmerizing view of Kanpur," while another added, 'Winner of this trend."
'Actually, it's much better than the haldi!!! Because I'm bored of watching it again and again!!" a user wrote. Many in the comment section went on to suggest the vlogger use other pan masala products for the experiment, while others poked fun at how she wasted an entire packet for the video.
Shared last week, the video has garnered over three million views.
At a time when discussions about the turmeric-water experiment have started taking a spiritual turn, with 'experts" weighing in, it won't be wrong to say that the Kanpuriya twist comes as a safe bet.

Over the past few days, several videos have popped up online showing people voicing their concerns about the viral trend. While some have dubbed it a black magic trick to call dead spirits, some are claiming that this has put people's lives in danger.
