6. Nova Centauri is a filly by Rubic that made her debut at Mudgee in February when running second. She resumes from a spell here without a trial, but the 1000m should suit, and she can go one better. Smart Buy is a stablemate of Nova Centauri, and she was placed in her second and third starts at Dubbo and this track in her only racing preparation. She has the talent to show up here. 9. Head Kahuna is a locally trained galloper on debut and has had two recent trials in preparation for this, finishing second in the last of them at this track. 1. Nugget Smart ran well when third at Tamworth last time out and another placing would not surprise.

Race 2
1. Miss Rebel has shown her share of ability in her career. She fought to the line well enough when a last-start third at Muswellbrook and that followed a run at this track in Saturday metropolitan company when midfield. 2. Chidiac impressed when winning her first three starts before being beaten just over 2.5 lengths in a Highway event at Randwick and then being spelled. She's a trial winner leading into this. 3. Soobooco comes into this on the back of a last-start Coffs Harbour win, while 6. Move She Can is a last-start Tamworth placegetter that can be in the minor money again.
How to play it: Miss Rebel to win.
Race 3
1. Ballinderry Sal won in good style at this track in March before scoring in Highway grade at Randwick in April. She hasn't raced since a sixth at Muswellbrook in May and is ready to sprint well fresh here with the apprentice claim. 2. Solitario has won two in a row at this track since resuming from a spell and looks hard to hold out again. 5. Ilovenews fought on well for a last-start second at this track and has the talent to show up again. 4. Hollywood Gold disappointed at Tamworth when last produced but can improve on that.
How to play it: Ballinderry Sal to win.
Race 4
9. Crimson Wings is a Trapeze Artist filly having her first start after two trials. She won the most recent of them at Canterbury and is set to run well here on the back of that. 8. Bird Whistle is also on debut and is a trial winner leading into this. 5. Beast Of Burden resumes here for a new stable and has had two trials in preparation for a bold fresh effort. 2. Sipping Shamus is a first-starter and ran third in his only trial at this track.

Like him, Getty was originally trained by Peter and Paul Snowden and although he never won for the then father and son training duo, he was placed five times including behind the likes of Estriella, In Flight, Spring Lee and Rush Hour in the $500,000 Debut at the Gold Coast. Getty has won three times for Kelley and chases a fourth career victory on Tuesday after a brave second at Wagga under a crushing 61 kgs steadier. 'He is getting better as he gets older,'' Kelley said. 'He has been an extremely late-maturer, mentally, and he is still probably not completely matured yet. 'I think we are starting to get on top of him this preparation and it is showing. 'I think later on down the track, he'll be an Open company sprinter for sure.'

The four-year-old mare made it four from four when revelling in the heavy conditions to trounce her rivals in the Highway Class 3 Handicap (1200m). 'I did something similar with a horse called Derry Grove. He won two Highways before running in The Kosciuszko. 'I've got a bit more time up my sleeve with this horse, so I'll go home and plot a path. 'She's a good candidate.' Without Parallel was sent out the $2.45 favourite and gave her backers a painless watch, dominating from the front before surging clear in the straight to win by an ever widening 4¾ lengths from Via Vegas ($18) with Cougars ($8) a half-head back in third. The victory was the perfect start to the new season for apprentice Anna Roper, who was having her first ride for Dunn and provided the prolific trainer with his 41st Highway winner. 'It's a really impressive effort,' Roper said. 'She added another string to her bow today with the wet track and in Sydney grade. 'The only question I had was if she was going to get through the heavy ground and she's ticked that box now. 'I was hopefully she's handle it because she's that right shape. She's a speed horse that's nimble and athletic. 'If today was a dry track I'd have expected her to do that to them. I hold her in good regard. • Crossbow aims higher after maiden win at Flemington 'Today was another positive. 'She handles firm, good, soft and heavy, she can make the pace or come off speed. 'A real little runner. She's an intelligent little racehorse that just does it.' Roper heads into 2025/26 after the best return of her short career, riding 77 winners during last season with 23.5 metropolitan winners to finish third in the Sydney apprentices' premiership. 'That was my first ride for Matt so it was good to get the job done like that for him,' Roper said. 'I'd really like to get to 100 winners this season shore up my place riding in town so it was good to get off to a fast start like that. 'Last season I missed the first few months through injury so this year to plan is to try to get to 100. 'I really want to work on my consistency too this season in town on a week-to-week basis. 'I've been very lucky with the support I've received from some big stables like Ciaron's. He's been so supportive to my career.'
