Moushumi began her acting career at the age of 16 and stuck to wearing suits or sarees, steering clear of any outfit that exposed too much skin. She made it clear that she wasn't comfortable wearing clothes with plunging necklines. In a candid chat with Filmfare, Moushumi shared an emotional memory from a film set where she was handed an outfit that deeply upset her. 'Seeing those clothes, I felt as if I had become naked. But then my husband explained to me and I completed that film," she recalled. The outfit in question was designed by renowned costume designer Mani J. Rabadi, who gave her a backless blouse and a short skirt. The moment she saw it, she broke down in tears. The actress also opened up about passing on a major film offer due to a similar reason. She was offered a role in Dharmendra's film Guddi, but she turned it down when she found out the character had to wear a short skirt.
