Woman in Saguenay, Que., 7 months pregnant, missing for 6 days, police say
Mariame Balde was last seen on July 24 travelling on foot, wearing white shoes, according to police. She is a Black woman with braided brown hair and brown eyes.
Tanya Lapointe, police spokesperson for the City of Saguenay, says they have reason to fear for the woman's safety.
Officers are on the ground conducting searches on Wednesday at Rosaire Gauthier Park, in the city's Chicoutimi borough and will be on foot in the wooded areas.
Later in the afternoon, patrol officers on bikes will go to the Chicoutimi Pulperie and the Pulperie trails.
On Tuesday, drones were used in the search, according to police.

Two men arrested after two-month crime spree involving 35 victims
Essex County OPP have nabbed two men accused of a two-month crime spree involving 35 victims. On Wednesday Aug. 12, the Essex County OPP Community Street Crime Unit arrested the men related to multiple investigations throughout Essex County. Between May 15 and July 8, the accused were involved in a crime spree in Lakeshore, Tecumseh and Essex which affected 35 victims and caused over $10,000 in losses and damages. The charges are in relation to the theft of a pickup truck, entering several unlocked and locked vehicles and garages. Stealing cash, personal items, electronic devices and garage door openers and then purchasing items at retails stores with stolen debit and credit cards. As a result, a 31-year-old Amherstburg man has been charged under the Criminal code with 93 charges, including: Break and Enter a Place commit Indictable Offence (three counts) Break and Enter Dwelling House commit Ind Offence Theft Over $5,000 of a Motor Vehicle Disguise with Intent (three counts) Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle (30 counts) Mischief Under $5,000 (three counts) Operation While Prohibited - Legal Restriction (eight counts) Operation While Prohibited under the (four counts) Use of Credit Card (22 counts) Fail to Comply with Release Order (14 counts) Fail to Comply with Probation Order (four counts) A 35-year-old Windsor man has been charged under the Criminal code with 81 charges, including: Break and Enter a Place commit Indictable Offence (three counts) Break and Enter Dwelling House commit Ind Offence Theft over $5,000 of a Motor Vehicle Disguise with Intent (two counts) Use of Credit Card (29 counts) Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle (30 counts) Mischief Under $5,000 (three counts) Fail to Comply with Probation Order (eight counts) Fail to Comply with Release Order (four counts) Both of the accused remain in custody and will appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor. Driver of stolen vehicle facing numerous charges in relation to fatal Red Deer crash
The man who police allege is responsible for a fatal crash in Red Deer on Tuesday has been charged with eight offences. The 33-year-old Red Deer County resident faces one charge each of impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death, and failing to stop after an accident causing death. He also faces two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, and one charge each of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and breaking and entering. Mounties believe the man was inebriated when he allegedly drove a stolen pickup truck into an SUV at 40 Avenue and 22 Street, killing its 46-year-old driver, then stole another SUV to flee the scene. He is due in court in Red Deer on Aug. 20.

49-year-old St. Catharines man faces child luring charges, police say
A 49-year-old man has been arrested, Niagara police said, and is facing child pornography charges following an investigation that began by what police say was a "third party group." Niagara Regional Police Service said in a news release on Thursday the man, Darren R. Fox, is facing four charges: making child pornography, making explicit material available to a child, luring a child to facilitate sexual interference and luring a child to "facilitate invitation to sexual touching." Police say that on Aug. 9, officers in St. Catharines responded to an "indecent act call for service." "The initial investigation determined that a third-party group using online decoy tactics had identified what they believed to be a child predator," said police in a news release. "The group confronted the individual at his residence before contacting police to turn over their evidence." The Niagara police's Internet Child Exploitation unit is investigating and said they believe there are more victims. Fox, who remains in custody, also went by the alias "Brett Donovan," police say, and are encouraging anyone with information to contact detectives at (905) 688-4111, dial option 3, ext. 1009128 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
