Pakistan's passport ranked the fourth worst in the world last month, but that does not seem to be an embarrassment for the country's leadership. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that Pakistan's green passport is a matter of 'pride', despite it being one of the worst in the world.
'We are proud of our green passport, and in the future, it will be a source of even greater pride,' Naqvi said, adding that the government is taking steps to improve its global rankings.

The 2025 Henley Passport Index has ranked Pakistan's passport the fourth worst in the world for the fourth year straight. The country's travel document is only than those of Iraq (101), Syria (102) and Afghanistan (103).
Pakistan and Yemen's passports allow visa-free access to 33 countries, Iraq's to 31, Syria's to 28, and Afghanistan's passport provides access to just 26 destinations.
The ranking is based on data from the International Air Transport Association, which holds the world's largest travel database, and is further supported by ongoing research from the Henley & Partners Research Department.

Congress to sponsor education of 30 children affected by Pak shelling in Poonch

The Indian Youth Congress (IYC), under the direction of Rahul Gandhi, senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, will fund the school education of 30 children from Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district who were affected by recent Pakistani shelling. The Poonch sector witnessed heightened artillery and mortar shelling after India carried out precise strikes under Operation Sindoor on nine terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 6-7 in response to the Pahalgam massacre. (File) Indian Youth Congress president Uday Bhanu Chib said, 'Rahul Gandhi has decided that these children, all from Poonch district, who have lost their parents in the recent Pak shelling will be provided financial help to complete their school education. We will sponsor their education in Poonch itself.' The decision follows Rahul Gandhi's visit to Poonch on May 24, where he met students of Christ School. During his interaction, he encouraged them to stay strong and continue their education despite the traumatic events. 'Now you have seen a little bit of danger and a little bit of a frightening situation, but don't worry—everything will come back to normal. Your way of responding to this problem should be that you study really hard, play and make a lot of friends in school. Will you do that?' Gandhi told the students. The Poonch sector witnessed heightened artillery and mortar shelling after India carried out precise strikes under Operation Sindoor on nine terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 6-7 in response to the Pahalgam massacre. A wave of artillery shelling, missiles and drone strikes by Pakistan killed 28 people, 16 in Poonch district alone, and injured more than 70 between May 7 and 10 across Jammu and Kashmir. Among the casualties were 13-year-old twins, Ayan and Aruba, children of Rameez Khan, who studied at Christ School. They were killed outside their rented home during a Pakistani shelling attack on the morning of May 7.

Kids lose parents in Pak shelling: Rahul Gandhi to sponsor education of 22 children

Rajouri/Jammu: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will sponsor the education of 22 children who lost either one or both parents in the Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir during Operation Sindoor, a party leader has said. Pradesh Congress Committee president Tariq Hameed Karra also refuted any differences with the pre-poll alliance partner National Conference (NC) but said his party is waiting for formation of coordination committee with the ruling party for the past nine months. 'A lot of civilian casualties and damage to properties took place in Poonch and Rajouri (between May 7 and 10) in Pakistani shelling. Rahul Gandhi visited Poonch in the aftermath of the devastating shelling and visited the bereaved families. He asked us to prepare a list of school-going children who lost one or both parents, especially the breadwinners, and accordingly we submitted the list to him,' Karra, who reached Rajouri on a three-day tour of the region, told reporters late Monday. He said the party has a list of 22 such children in the Poonch district alone, and more such children might be included at the end of the three-day visit. Poonch district alone accounted for 13 civilian deaths among 28 fatalities in the Pakistani shelling and drone attacks in Jammu and Kashmir after the Indian armed forces carried out missile strikes on terror infrastructure across the border under Operation Sindoor in May in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 persons, mostly tourists, dead.
