Terrifying moment woman breaks into former Channel 7 star's house after she allegedly murdered her neighbour

Daily Mail17-06-2025
A South Australian TV personality said her street is living in fear following the stabbing death of a neighbor and a woman covered in blood breaking in to her house.
Police were called to the street in Gilberton, South Australia, just after 7pm on Monday after a resident's carer made a request for a welfare check.
When officers arrived, they found Andrew Sorby-Adams, 67, dead with multiple stab wounds.
Less than 25 minutes earlier, police had been called to the home of former Channel 7 star Jan Beasley at a neighbouring property after an intruder was spotted.
A woman allegedly smashed a window at the back porch and entered while Mrs Beasley and her husband John were watching television, Seven News reported.
In terrifying footage, John can be heard yelling: 'Get away from our house. Go away.'
But the 30-year-old woman, whose name has been suppressed, could be seen dressed in only a shirt as she broke the glass with what appeared to be a pot plant, while allegedly covered in blood.
'Something has to change, honestly and truly. Everybody in this neighborhood now is scared to death,' Mrs Beasley said.
She claimed there had been trouble at the neighbouring units previously and she had made calls to the SA Housing Trust but no action had been taken.
'How would you like to live next to that for 30 years? You can't go out your back gate,' she said.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted SA Housing Trust for comment.
SA Police responded to the incident and arrested the woman, who is allegedly a resident in the block of units, before she was taken to hospital to treat cuts and grazes.
She has been charged with murder, trespassing and property damage.
Acting Superintendent Damien Eichner told reporters on Tuesday the Beasleys were 'extremely lucky' not to be harmed and he shared his condolences with Mr Sorby-Adams' family.
'This type of event has catastrophic impacts upon families, upon the community itself, and the wellbeing of everyone involved,' he said.
Investigations remain ongoing and any witnesses have been urged to contact the police.
Local resident Jonathon Wilkinson said the woman had been struggling for days.
'She had a lot on her plate,' he said.
'She hadn't been herself for about three days, but she was facing eviction and homelessness and things along those lines.'
The woman appeared remotely in the Adelaide Magistrates Court from a medical facility on Tuesday, The Advertiser reported.
No bail application has been made and the woman has not entered a plea.
The court approved a request from her legal representatives that she be remanded into the custody of SA's forensic mental health service instead of a jail cell.
'(She) has just been assessed for a forensic inpatient treatment order... she requires further evaluation by psychiatrists,' a forensic mental health spokeswoman told the court.
The suppression of the woman's name and image was also approved by the court after the SA Police prosecutor said staff would require time to deal with the 'large and complex' case.
The woman is next due to front court in October.

British woman, 59, is arrested 'after sexually assaulting 14-year-old Italian girl on Costa del Sol beach'

A 59-year-old British woman has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in a Costa del Sol holiday resort. She is said to have approached the youngster as she sat on a beach and spoken to her in English to 'gain her trust' before groping her. The teenager, an Italian national, ran to a nearby shop to seek help where a relative was working and called police. Cops held the Brit, who reportedly has previous for other sex offences, in the same area. The incident happened earlier this month in La Cala de Mijas near Fuengirola but only came to light today. The arrest was made by local police but officers from another police force, the Civil Guard, took her to court. It was not immediately clear this morning if the unnamed British woman is a holidaymaker or expat and whether she has been remanded in custody pending an ongoing investigation or released on bail. Local councillor Juan Carlos Cuevas described her behaviour as 'repugnant and intolerable' and added even though she has not yet been formally charged with any crime: 'It deserves the strongest condemnation.' Saying the co-operation of locals and the rapid intervention of local police employed by Mijas Town Hall had played a key part in the arrest, he said: 'This case shows that when we work together, we manage to halt very serious situations.' Earlier this month the same local police force announced it had captured a fugitive Brit wanted for murder. The unnamed man was arrested after a run-in with two women at a petrol station and a subsequent car crash. Police released photos of pistols, ammunition and a silencer seized in his vehicle after the suspect, described locally as having links with 'one of London's most dangerous crime gangs', tried to flee and they held him and 'discovered he should be in prison.' The pics showed the unnamed Brit was also carrying a book called 'Practical Buddhism and the Search for Self.' The arrest was made in an area called Riviera between La Cala de Mijas and Marbella. Respected local paper Sur said he was wanted for 'several assassinations' and reported the argument he had at the petrol station was with two Dutch women he started berating after trying repeatedly to get them to buy him cocaine. Bizarrely it later emerged the man held was not the person local police thought he was. He was remanded in custody while Spanish police sought help from detectives in the UK to confirm his true identity.
