Pop star Florence Welch forced to halt revamp plans on £1.9million estate after builders unearth SKELETONS
FLORENCE Welch's renovation plans on her £1.9million country estate have unearthed another problem - medieval skeletons.
The Dog Days Are Over singer bought the sprawling estate in Somerset four years ago but has still not moved in after a series of setbacks.

Her plans to re-unify four buildings which have been separate since the 1940s have been approved by the local council.
But an archaeological report says groundwork on the 12th century estate could dig-up ancient human skeletons, as well as medieval artefacts.
A source close to the project said: 'Florence has owned three of the buildings and the estate for four years and is fascinated with medieval history and the history of her new home in particular.
'She knew the fourth might be coming up for sale so when she was able to buy it in 2023 she snapped it up.
'It enables her to work towards her dream of living in an ancient, gothic-style building and enjoying time away from London.'
A 22-page archaeology report submitted to Somerset Council by John Moore Heritage Services says 'there is clear potential for archaeological remains dating to the medieval period'.'
It adds: 'If human remains are encountered and have to be removed, they will be cleaned, recorded and lifted in accordance with a Ministry of Justice licence.
'Exhumation and post-excavation treatment will be carried out in accordance with published …All associated deposits, e.g. pyre sites, mausolea and mortuary enclosures, will also be fully investigated and excavated.'
An agreement has been made with Florence, of Indie band Florence and the Machine, that she will give any historical artefacts to the Somerset Museums Service.
The Grade II listed pile boasts walled landscaped gardens and a touch of history.
The property has over fifty rooms across three floors and a swimming pool.
Florence, 38, has had a lifelong fascination with historical buildings.
She told Vogue magazine in 2011: 'I really want a gothic castle, or a church, but I haven't had time because I've only been home for two weeks in the last year.'
The bohemian singer is known for her spirituality, which should come in handy with the rumoured resident ghost.
The buildings, near the trendy celebrity heavy town of Frome and posh members club Babbington House, are believed to be haunted by a lady in grey.
Local folklore says the ghoulish figure was first seen in the 1970s.
Raised a Catholic, the songwriter describes herself as agnostic, meaning she believes nothing can be known about the existence of any god.
Her lyrics often centre around the supernatural, the occult, witchcraft, pagan practices, and Wiccan traditions, who use magic to honour the elements and cycles of nature.
The Sun has contacted reps for Florence for comment.
Lewis Capaldi sees cost of revamping 'money pit' mansion soar over £1million
By Kevin Duguid
LEWIS Capaldi has seen the cost of revamping his 'money pit' mansion soar to more than £1million.
The rising bill is on top of the £1.6million the singer, 28, forked out for the farmhouse in 2020.
We told how he is due to splash £738,000 on an extension at his country home just outside Glasgow.
And paperwork submitted to planning chiefs has now revealed work on a triple garage and office is valued at £360,000.
That means a total for improvements of almost £1.1million.
But the final tab could be even higher after the Someone You Loved star put in proposals in March to build a music studio at the ten-acre estate.
A source said last night: 'At this rate he'll have spent more doing it up than he paid for it.
'He's making the place his own and it should be a good investment in the long run.'
Details of the latest costs emerged in a building standards warrant for the garage submitted to East Renfrewshire Council.
Lewis got permission to build it last year but needs the warrant to be approved before work can begin.
He snapped up the rural property after fellow chart-topper Ed Sheeran scoured the internet looking for a place for him.

Serial killer Rose West struggling to make friends with fellow inmates
She was asked to wear a bright yellow jumper in prison to highlight that she was at risk of attack from other inmates Rose West has not had a visitor 'in years' as she serves a whole life term for murder. The serial killer has also been shunned by fellow inmates despite trying to make friends by baking cakes and treats for lifers behind bars. Insiders have told how she always has a guard by her side when she moves around prison, including visits to the chapel to pray. Before she suffered from ill health, she even went on the treadmill at the prison gym in Low Newton jail in Co Durham, before her move to HMP New Hall near Wakefield in West Yorkshire. "She has not had a visitor in years" according to one insider. She was asked to wear a bright yellow jumper behind bars to highlight that she was at risk from other prisoners, who would threaten to attack her and spit in her food. And she was nicknamed 'Baker Rose' or 'Ma Baker' when she was allowed to "bake cakes for fellow inmates." Canoe woman Anne Darwin told in her memoir 'Out of My Depth' and how she was mistaken for the mass murderer when she served time for fraud alongside her in Low Newton jail. She recalled: "I was on the treadmill when I became aware of someone getting onto the machine next to me, so I turned to say good morning. "But as I looked round, there was the plump and rather squat figure of notorious serial killer Rose West, with the usual attendant officer close by, just a few feet from me. "She didn't say anything, just stared straight ahead and carried on walking. I thought to myself, now there's a sight you don't see every day." She added: "There was hatred among the inmates for people, like Rose, who'd been a part of such barbaric killings. "Whenever she left her cell, a prison officer was always detailed to her for her own protection and, at least when she first arrived, she had to wear a bright yellow jumper or top to mark her out as a high-profile/ high-risk prisoner. "She was known as 'Baker Rose', because one day a week she was allowed to bake cakes on the wing. I went to the chapel whenever there was a Catholic mass, which was always on a Saturday, and occasionally Rose would turn up with her officer in tow." Rose West, now 71, was jailed for life in 1995 for murdering ten women and girls with husband Fred in Gloucester. She calls herself Jennifer Jones after changing her name by deed poll in 2020, but everyone knows her real identity at the women-only HMP New Hall near Wakefield in West Yorkshire. Her husband, who buried several of the victims at their home in Gloucester, escaped justice by killing himself on remand, aged 53. The couple's horrendous crimes have come back into the spotlight after the release of new Netflix docuseries Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story. She spent 11 years at Durham's Low Newton. It is believed she was moved on after fellow serial killer Joanna Dennehy made threats towards her. Before that she was at HMP Bronzefield, in Ashford, Surrey. However a plot to attack her with a sock filled with pool balls was uncovered and she was moved

Haunted doll's handler says it's not responsible for disasters while on tour
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A cursed doll rumored to have gone missing while touring the US with a traveling exhibit is being blamed for local disasters including a fire and a jailbreak. The 'Annabelle' doll, which some believe is demon-possessed and was featured in The Conjuring horror films, is on a paranormal tour along with other items belonging to her ghost hunter owners. Word on the street in mid-May was that Anabelle vanished while stopping at the Ghost City Tours office in New Orleans. It happened to be the same week that a fire tore through a nearby plantation and 10 prisoners escaped from a jail. But Tony Spera, the owner of the Warren Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut, said that Annabelle is 'safely back' there locked in her display case. 'You know, it's easy for rumors to start. The fact of the matter is, that doll was never out of our sight, never out of our control,' Spera told NBC News this week. 'It's in a protective case that many precautions were taken to make it safe.' Paranormal investigator Ryan Buell sought to further quell rumors by posting a video on Facebook on May 24 of himself at the museum. 'She's not in Chicago, she never was in Chicago, and she's not missing because she's right behind me,' said Buell, while pointing the camera towards him with the doll sitting in the case over his shoulder. Still, social media users and conspiracy theorists have been skeptical about those accounts of Annabelle's whereabouts. A blaze destroyed the Nottoway Plantation House between Baton Rouge and New Orleans on May 15, and the very next day, inmates escaped from the Orleans Justice Center. Annabelle was touring in New Orleans on May 13 and 14, and among the precautions that were taken were having a Catholic priest alongside the doll. Some people are 'absolutely convinced' that Ghost City Tours is at fault for the fire and jailbreak, said its founder Tim Nealon. One Facebook user asked why Annabelle wasn't left at the Connecticut museum and wrote on Ghost City Tours' page: 'Did it cross your mind maybe she was there for a reason. Some things are better left alone.' 'I did not think people were taking it seriously, I kept seeing jokes about it on Instagram and TikTok,' Nealon told USA Today. 'But, I didn't realize people were out here like, actually thinking that this was legit.' More Trending Spera said he doesn't blame people for being skeptical. 'If people don't know about the demonic, it's very difficult to believe that these thing are happening,' he said. 'But they do happen.' Annabelle has been on sold-out tours across the US – and Buell said that plans are underway for her to be at the Rock Island Roadhouse Esoteric Expo in Illinois on October 4. Florence Pugh pays homage to NHS nurses in emotional YungBlud music video
Florence Pugh starred as a a nurse in Yungblud's new music video and gained her wings while portraying the 'dark side' of healthcare, resulting in heaps of praise from NHS nurses for raising awareness YUNGBLUD released his latest music video to newest single 'Zombie' starring Hollywood actress Florence Pugh, who opened up about her emotional appearance in the video which pays homage to the efforts of the NHS. The heart-wrenching video showcases the struggles of healthcare workers, with Florence portraying the overwhelming experience as a nurse consumed by grief, fatigue and the taxing need to remain positive. The Little Women actress said the decision to work with YUNGBLUD (formally Dominic Harrison) was "the easiest yes" she'd given. She shared her process, saying: "I always try to align myself and my career with people that inspire me. He inspires me but in an even more important way because his soul, authenticity of who he is and what he's making is so electric and full of love". Florence said the song "made [her] leap at the opportunity of collaborating" and that the shoot "was a dream", where the singer supported her "as hard as [she] was supporting him. That's true legendary leadership." READ MORE: Florence Pugh and Yungblud leave onlookers baffled as they pour pints at pub The Marvel star has since taken to Instagram to share her love for the project, posting a thread of images that has since received a million likes. She captioned the post, writing: "I believe in everything YUNGBLUD stands for and am absolutely inspired by how he uses his art and his voice. Being part of his music video for 'Zombie' feels surreal to me". Florence then shared that the unexpected duo "have been trying to find something to work together on for a while" and all it took was a "suuuper casual" voice note to convince Pugh squeeze the project into her "insanely busy schedule". "I haven't known him for long but I'm just so proud of this beautiful British talent," Florence said before thanking the singer "for making this love letter to nurses all around". The music video in question hitting 1.8 million views on YouTube in three days. Zombie's British Rock sound marries perfectly with the moody shots of Florence smiling amongst patients and being crushed by the emotional turmoil of nursing. Cavell Charity's Instagram shared nurse s' comments, one reading: "As an oncology nurse, this made me ugly sob in a ball in the corner. I have cried on my bathroom floor over a patient I lost and cried happy tears with a different patient as they ring the bell after finishing chemo in the same day. "Nursing is one of the hardest yet most rewarding careers and this is such a beautiful portrayal of both the darkest and most joyful moments we go through. Thank you for this". Another wrote: "I've been a nurse for 23 years and no one ever talks about what goes on behind the professional mask. We are human too". "We all want someone or something to comfort us no matter how we are right now or who we become in the future. But it's f***ing scary," shared YUNGBLUD, who's inspiration was originally his grandmother "going through serious injury and trauma, leading her to become a different person to who she was before". The video's vulnerability conveys "the feeling of deterioration and ugliness; shutting out the world and the people we love out of the fear of becoming a burden or an embarrassment".
