Premier League manager shows off outrageous skills in training session as his club prepare for pre-season friendlies

Daily Mail4 days ago
A Premier League manager pulled off an impressive piece of skill during his club's training session ahead of their first pre-season fixture.
The coach in question was seen showing off his kick-ups and tricks in a video posted to TikTok by the club he is in charge of.
A player can then be heard speaking to the videographer in the background, saying: 'Admin, this is some quality content'.
The video has since garnered huge traction on the platform, with over 100,views and 12,000 likes since it was uploaded on Sunday afternoon.
It showed none other than Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler flexing his twinkled-toed ability with a football.
Hurzeler, took over at the Amex Stadium last summer, making him the youngest-ever Premier League manager in history when he was appointed at the age of 31.
Reacting to the video in the comments section, many users were quick to point out his age in comparison to some of his players.
One user wrote: 'Virgil [van Dijk] and [Harry] Maguire are both older'.
A second added: 'Remember he's younger than some of our players'.
Another remarked: 'The other mangers aren't younger than James Milner'.
A further comment read: 'Fabian Hurzeler is bringing some serious skills to the table!'
Hurzeler was part of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich's academy as a youngster - spending eight years there and making 36 league appearances for their second team.
However, he effectively ended his own professional playing career aged 22 as he only played for amateur sides in Germany afterwards.
His career in management began in 2016 as a player-coach with FC Pipinsried, who he managed to promote in his first season.
After being named assistant coach of St. Pauli in 2020, he was named their head coach in December 2022.
Having won promotion to the Bundesliga with the club two seasons ago, he was named as Roberto De Zerbi successor on the South Coast.
Following an eight-placed finish in his first campaign in charge, Brighton begin their pre-season for 2025-26 on Monday evening, as they face Spanish side Las Palmas.

Former Man Utd star in talks to sign for Wrexham, agent confirms

Wrexham are in talks to sign a Premier League icon just a month after he left Manchester United, the player's agent has confirmed. The Welsh club have enjoyed incredible success on-and-off the pitch since being taken over by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2021. Three consecutive promotions have seen them rise from National League to the Championship, while the documentary series Welcome to Wrexham has given them worldwide fame and attention. They are now preparing for their first season back in England's second-tier and many believe it is a question of not if, but when they will be promoted to the Premier League. As a result they have been linked with a number of former top-flight players who are now free agents, like Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy. Wake up to find news on your club in your inbox every morning with Metro's Football Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your team in the link so we can send you football news tailored to you. And it has now been revealed that they have made an approach to sign ex-United and Tottenham star Christian Eriksen, according to the midfielder's representative Martin Schoots. 'Wrexham are really upgrading everything both on and off the field, and it is a hugely impressive project, as you can see from the presence of people like [CEO] Michael Williamson there,' Schoots told the Daily Mail. 'But Christian still wants to play in a first-tier competition and he absolutely wants to stay in Western Europe. There are some contacts going on but it has to suit both sides.' Eriksen joined Spurs from Ajax in 2013 and established himself as one of the most talented midfielders of his generation, recording 68 goals and 88 assists in 305 games for the club. The Dane then moved to Inter Milan where he won Serie A, before shockingly suffering a cardiac arrest and collapsing on the pitch at Euro 2020. Clubs: Tottenham, Brentford, Manchester United Appearances: 310 Goals: 55 Assists: 81 Trophies: FA Cup (2023/24), League Cup (2022/23) Remarkably, he made his return to football less than a year later with Brentford before moving to Old Trafford where he won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup under Erik ten Hag. The 33-year-old confirmed in May that he would be leaving the Red Devils upon the expiry of his contract, scoring a penalty in his final match, and is now on the hunt for a new club. While Eriksen has already ruled out a return to his native Denmark, he has been approached by clubs in Saudi Arabia, the USA, Turkey, Brazil, as well as Wrexham. While past his prime, Eriksen still has plenty of quality and experience to offer a new club and it would be a major coup for a second-tier side like Wrexham to sign him. More Trending But former Red Dragons striker Matt Jansen admits he doesn't think the Dane will be interested in a move to north Wales. Asked which free agents he would like to see at Wrexham, Jansen told Live Casinos: 'Well Jamie Vardy is one. To help him out, maybe Callum Wilson if you can keep him fit. Or Danny Ings. 'So they're the type of players that would enhance their chances, but they're an aging squad and then in a year or two you've got to do exactly the same thing, haven't you? 'So there are a few agents that I certainly think would improve Wrexham. Then you also have Christian Eriksen, but I don't think he'd be tempted.' For more stories like this, check our sport page. Man City strike James Trafford deal to add to Newcastle's frustrating summer

Manchester City will re-sign James Trafford for £27m after the goalkeeper rejected Newcastle to return to his former club. City, who sold the 22-year-old to Burnley two years ago, activated the matching rights clause they put in that deal when Newcastle agreed a fee with the promoted club. And Trafford, a long-term target for Eddie Howe, decided against going to St James' Park in favour of a move to the former Premier League champions. Trafford will sign a five-year deal, with City possessing the option to extend it for a further season, and personal terms have been agreed. City expect his arrival to lead to the departure of Stefan Ortega. While the German is not close to a move, City anticipate there will be interest and that Ortega will not want to be the third-choice goalkeeper. However, City believe Ederson will stay, despite suggestions in Turkey that he has agreed personal terms with Galatasaray. The Turkish champions have not been in contact with City, while they have remained adamant they want the Brazilian to remain. Ederson has entered the last year of his contract and is a favourite of manager Pep Guardiola but Trafford's decision to join City shows he has the self-belief to compete with the 31-year-old to start. Trafford equalled the record for most clean sheets in an English league season last year, keeping 29 as Burnley only conceded 16 goals on route to winning promotion. He had joined the Clarets for £14m, meaning it only cost City an extra £13m to buy him back. However, his impending move will represent another blow for Howe in a frustrating summer in the transfer market. Newcastle have already missed out on a host of other targets, including Hugo Ekitike, Bryan Mbeumo, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, while Alexander Isak is interested in exploring other options and leaving St James' Park. In contrast, City have already bought midfielders Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders, left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri and back-up goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli. Trafford will take their summer signing up to around £140m and their total expenditure in 2025 past £300m.

‘What a shame' – £400,000 wonderhorse leaves Nicky Henderson without ever running a race

Will he ever be the superstar his price tag suggested he was? A £400,000 wonderhorse has left Nicky Henderson without ever running a race. Bidding for Minella Premier was absolutely fierce when he went under the hammer at Doncaster in May 2024. Advertisement 2 Minella Premier looked a monster winning his point-to-point by 12 lengths and selling for £400,000 - but he never made the racecourse under Nicky Henderson 2 Richard Hobson has been tasked with getting Minella Premier's career back on track after the horse left Nicky Henderson's Seven Barrows yard Credit: Alamy Legendary handler Henderson and bloodstock expert Jerry McGrath struck the winning ticket when they stretched to the huge sum - seeing off the likes of former Premier League footballer Alan Rogers. But a little over a year later the horse has left Seven Barrows for a new trainer entirely. Richard Hobson was listed as Minella Premier's handler as of last month. At the time of his sale, the horse was touted as a possible Gold Cup and Grand National winner - like Minella Indo and Minella Times. Advertisement All three came from the 'Minella' academy of John Nallen in Tipperary, Ireland. But Minella Premier has not taken to a racetrack since his sole win - a dozen length victory - in a point-to-point the same month he was bought. Related to Grade 1-winning chaser Captain Chris, Henderson waxed lyrical after snapping up Minella Premier. He said at the time: "Jerry's known all about him for a while and we followed him into his point-to-point and out of his point-to-point. Advertisement "Everybody was impressed by him and he had a lot of 'wow' around him. "He's come here with that behind him and all the right people followed him into the ring. "It's great to see a horse make that sort of money. "A really good horse with a real vibe around him is entitled to go and do that." Advertisement Minella Premier was bought by Oliver Harris, who has subsequently put a load of his horses up for sale. The horse is still listed as belonging to him, unlike Peaky Boy, Willmount and several others who changed hands in a £650,000 firesale. While Nallen added to the hype, saying: "Minella Premier is the most impressive point-to-pointer we've ever produced. "He's by a good sire and he's always been quality since we bought him as a foal. Advertisement "He's done everything right. A man asked at his point-to-point what I thought of him. "I replied that I'd be afraid to tell him what I really thought. "After the race he said, 'Ah, I think I know what you think of him now!' "I had plenty of offers before I came here with him. Advertisement "You'd be shocked by how much money I was prepared to take him home for. "It's a great result, though, and Nicky Henderson will improve him stones. "He'll be a proper two-and-a-half mile horse at Cheltenham next March." However, that never materialised, with the horse clearly suffering from some sort of setback during his time with Hendo. Advertisement Punters said it was a 'shame' he never made the track - but he could have a new lease of life under Hobson. The former jockey has excelled with chasers over the years, with Fugitif's December Gold Cup win at Cheltenham in December 2023 the most valuable. He is perhaps best known for Lord Du Mesnil, the Grade 3-winning chaser who's won more than £250,000 during the course of his career.
