When is 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning' coming to streaming? Here's our best guess
'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning' marks the explosive conclusion to one of the most adrenaline-fueled franchises in movie history, and if you're itching to know when you can stream it from the comfort of your couch, you're definitely not alone.
Since premiering in theaters last weekend, the eighth and final 'Mission: Impossible' movie has pulled off a box office heist worthy of the IMF, raking in over $200 million worldwide. Critics are calling it a 'sentimental sendoff' for Tom Cruise's iconic role, with reviews praising its incredible action sequences.
So, when can you expect 'The Final Reckoning' to land on streaming platforms? Here's our best guess at when this movie will be available to stream at home.
While we don't know the exact date you'll be able to stream 'Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning' at home, we do have a good idea of where it's headed.
The first stop for Ethan Hunt's final mission will most likely be premium video-on-demand (PVOD) on platforms like Amazon and Apple TV, typically within a few weeks of its theatrical run.
For example, 'Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One' was released in theaters on July 10, 2023, and became available on PVOD on October 10, 2023, marking a 90-day window between theatrical and digital release.
Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.
Similarly, 'Top Gun: Maverick' followed a comparable timeline, with its PVOD release occurring around 90 days post its theatrical premiere
Given these precedents, it's reasonable to anticipate that 'The Final Reckoning' could have a potential PVOD release window between late August and early September 2025, possibly on August 22. However, it's important to note that these dates are speculative and subject to change.
After that, 'The Final Reckoning' is expected to land on Paramount Plus. Since the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise is distributed by Paramount Pictures, the studio usually brings its biggest titles to its own streaming service following the PVOD window.
As for when it could come to Paramount Plus, Paramount movies typically hit the streaming service around six to seven months after their theatrical debut.
If 'The Final Reckoning' follows that trend, I predict it could arrive on Paramount Plus around late November to early December 2025, potentially on December 5, 2025.
There are a couple of reasons that date makes sense. Paramount Plus tends to drop major movie titles on Thursdays or Fridays, and December 5 would give 'The Final Reckoning' a solid runway before the holiday season movie rush kicks in.
Plus, Paramount doesn't have any other major franchise releases scheduled for that weekend, which means Ethan Hunt's final chapter wouldn't be competing with other studio heavyweights for attention on the platform.

'The No. 1 Destination for the Most Talented Artists': Netflix Stock (NASDAQ:NFLX) Notches Up as the Duffer Brothers Consider Jumping Ship
In what may be one of the strangest news pieces I have heard in a while, streaming giant Netflix (NFLX) may be about to lose one of its biggest acts: the Duffer Brothers. If that name is not immediately familiar, then perhaps their property will be: Stranger Things. Perhaps even stranger than the things in question is who Netflix may lose to here. Investors took it in stride, though, and sent shares up fractionally in the closing minutes of Friday's trading. Elevate Your Investing Strategy: Take advantage of TipRanks Premium at 50% off! Matt and Ross Duffer, the guys behind the runaway hit Stranger Things, may be landing a new deal at, of all places, Paramount (PARA). Yes, the studio that has been relentlessly flailing for months as people wondered if it could even pull off a merger successfully may be about to poach the makers of one of Netflix's biggest properties. One of Paramount's new goals is to become the 'no.1 destination for the most talented artists and filmmakers in the world.' Interestingly, the move might have been made possible from a completely different Netflix loss, as Cindy Holland—who helped get Stranger Things off the ground at Netflix—herself moved to Paramount, and is now the head of streaming therein. However, reports note that a deal between the Duffers and Paramount would also include theatrical-release feature films. A Win in Animation But Netflix may be about to make a serious surge in one respect: animation. Netflix animation has been a bit of a mixed bag of late. Some of it is great, some of it not so much, and in some cases it is both great and terrible depending on the season. Disenchantment, I look squarely at you here. But one series is proving to be a big winner for Netflix: the unlikely hero of Kpop Demon Hunters. Not only is Kpop Demon Hunters the most viewed animated movie on Netflix right now, it is also the second most-viewed movie period on the platform. For a movie that has only been available since late June, that is no mean feat. Greenlight Analytics director of insights and content strategy Brandon Katz notes that this is Netflix's '…first real, organic, mega hit animated franchise.' But what does Netflix do for an encore here? That answer may determine whether this is a long-term winner or a flash in the pan. Is Netflix Stock a Good Buy Right Now? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Moderate Buy consensus rating on NFLX stock based on 26 Buys, 11 Holds, and one Sell assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After an 82.56% rally in its share price over the past year, the average NFLX price target of $1,394 per share implies 12.31% downside risk. Disclosure

Tom Cruise Turned Down Trump's 2025 Kennedy Center Honors Due to a ‘Scheduling Conflict'
This year's honorees include George Strait, Michael Crawford, Sylvester Stallone, singer Gloria Gaynor and rock legends Kiss Country icon George Strait, actor Michael Crawford, Sylvester Stallone, disco legend Gloria Gaynor and the rock band Kiss will be honored at this year's highly unusual John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts honors. But according to one report, the biggest movie star in the world was also invited to join their ranks — but he declined. On Wednesday the Washington Post reported that Tom Cruise was also invited to be feted by the Kennedy Center, but turned the offer down due to a 'scheduling conflict.' WaPo cites 'several current and former Kennedy Center employees who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss event plans' for this report, but notes neither Cruise nor his representatives have commented on the story. But while Cruise won't be attending the ceremony, the 5 honorees who do will experience what is likely to be the most unusual version in the 48-year history of the awards. Continuing from Trump's takeover — and subsequent right wing political makeover — of the Kennedy Center earlier this year, Trump chose all of this year's nominees and he also plans to host this year's event. Indeed, in his statement announcing this, he also complained about having never been so honored, saying in part, 'I wanted one, I was never able to get one. It's true, actually. I would've taken it if they would've called me. I waited, and waited, and waited.' Ok then. 'Then I said to hell with it, I'll become chairman. And I'll give myself an honor. Next year we'll honor Trump, OK?' the president continued. Trump also complained about the fact that he is hosting, claiming in his remarks that he was 'begged' to do it. With or without Cruise, this year's honors happen Dec. 7, 2025, which incidentally also happens to be Pearl Harbor Day.
