I wear a size 18 — these are the best plus-size jeans from Old Navy

Yahoo20-02-2025

Shopping for jeans can be a struggle. Whether you're plus-size, petite or tall, it can be challenging to find the right pair. As a size 18, I've had my fair share of jean shopping mishaps. One minute you're trying on a pair, hoping they fit, and the next, you're adding them to your "no" pile.
As a sales associate at Old Navy, I think I've tried on every style of denim. From an OG Straight to a Wow Wide-Leg, I know which pair of jeans suits which body shapes best. Keep scrolling for my review of Old Navy's best plus-size jeans.
I like that these high-waisted jeans aren't too loose. I also like how snug the waistline is and how they maintain their shape, complementing my body overall. They're super comfortable around the legs and they're a nice cross of a straight yet relaxed cut. Even if this isn't your style, it's one of those jeans that will look good on any body shape. I'm OK with the length, but I can see how it might need a slight hem for someone else.
These jeans are snug in the best way. They're flattering, and I love that they're a more subtle option compared to the Flare or the Boot-Cut. Even if they feel tight around the waist, I can confirm they still pass the sit test. If you're under 5'5" like me, the ankle length is your best bet. You won't need to consider alterations or worry whether the ends are touching the ground.
I like that these are an alternative to skinny jeans. They have a similar fit and look, but more with a straight cut. They're also pretty flattering, and I love their vintage look. I appreciate that the rise isn't too high either. That said, they are on the snug side, so I definitely suggest sizing up.
I did not expect these to fit like a glove. They're super roomy and pair great with a basic T-shirt. They are honestly the most comfortable on the list. Though I would've preferred side pockets, I will admit having them at the front does add more personality to the jeans. Also, there's something about the wide-leg style that fits in with a business casual setting because I could totally wear these to my next work event.
I have worn bootcut jeans for years. They're a super versatile denim and less dramatic than flares. I've worn them casually with T-shirts and even paired them with blazers to work events. As a size 18, these are my go-to jeans. They're slimming and they compliment my body well. But be mindful of sizing: some washes fit larger than others.
I love the shape of these jeans, especially on a plus-size body. I usually steer clear of wide legs, but surprisingly, these shape my legs nicely. They're a similar fit to the Wow Boyfriend, but I like that these are a bit snugger around the waist. They do run a bit long, but you could probably avoid that by buying petite.
These are the kind of jeans you will wear all the time. They are true to size and super comfortable, and I am obsessed with the wash I got. The fit is great. I love that they're relaxed without lacking shape. I also like the length. Somehow, the pair I got was ideal for my height. But if that is not the case, a slight hem is always an option.

12 summer dresses under $100 that flatter your arms, tummy and everything in between

I know a good dress when I see one — especially when it's figure-flattering, budget-friendly and designed with different bodies in mind (and not just a perfectly proportioned model). Whether you're looking for a little extra arm coverage, a tummy-smoothing fit or a midi length that feels appropriate, these affordable summer dresses deliver. I've curated this edit with comfort, confidence and style at the forefront of my mind — and I'll have you know my 62-year-old mother approves of each style. These are the kind of dresses that work for special occasions, casual outings and everything in between. Now it's your turn to take a look at these pieces, so go ahead and keep scrolling to start shopping. This tunic-style dress is a great casual throw-on that will work from day to night, depending on your accessories. Since it has a V-neckline, there's room to jazz it up with necklaces, and the arm length is perfect for showing off your wrist candy. One of the most flattering sleeve lengths is the flutter sleeve, which this dress wears perfectly. The silhouette on this midi style is elegant and won't cling too tight to the body, making it a great breezy choice for various summer events. If you love a puff sleeve, I'm happy to report this Old Navy frock is right up your alley. It has a smocked empire waist that many reviewers call incredibly "flattering." Shoppers also say it "can be [worn casually] or dressed up for a cocktail party." This sophisticated maxi dress looks a lot like the bestselling Somerset Dress from Anthropologie but at a more affordable cost. Shoppers are pretty much obsessed with this style, stating it has a "great fit," is "comfortable" and features a "light cotton feel," perfect for summer weather. I personally love shift dresses and find they do a great job of hiding any insecurities (especially the tummy area!). This one is simple, chic and totally versatile. That V-neckline adds some dimension, and the short sleeves provide some extra arm coverage without being overly stifling. Wow, talk about a stylish pop of colour — this might be my favourite dress in this edit. Banana Republic does a great job at keeping things modest yet fashionable, and this poplin maxi is the perfect example. It has flattering ruching in the bodice, as well as a double-tie detail that allows you to reveal as much or as little of your back as you'd like. Now, I own this dress and can confirm it's flattering, comfortable (thanks to its elastic waistband) and fits amazingly. It's my go-to for when I don't feel like putting in too much effort but still want to look put together and dressed up. It works for all sorts of occasions, and the material is lightweight and breathable. More than 150 Simons shoppers have this dress in their carts, and for a good reason. It's a simple yet timeless unlined dress with a ribbon belt that can be tied to the side for a wrap-style look. Dress it up, dress it down, wear it however you'd like. This popular H&M frock is available in three solid colours and seven different patterns. It's calf-length with short raglan sleeves, buttons down the front and a removable tie belt, which you can use to cinch the waist for more definition. If you ask me, this is an effortless everyday choice that you can rock in so many different variations. Don't like polka dots? Don't worry — this dress comes in more than 20 colours and patterns to choose from. It boasts a wrap-style design that will look amazing on various body types. Thousands of shoppers "love this dress" and confirm it's the "perfect length," too. One of our 40+ shopping writers tried on this dress and couldn't get enough of it. A big selling point? It has pockets! It's on the loose side, meaning it's certainly breezy and comfortable. If you want more shape, you can pair it with a chunky belt for a chic upgrade. This flattering maxi features a flowy tiered skirt, a comfy elastic waist and breathable fabric that moves with you (not against you). The relaxed fit through the waist offers a bit of forgiveness, making it a great pick on days when you don't want anything clinging.

A pair of Old Navy jellies with a netting design that looks jaw-droppingly similar to the Mara flats by The Row, except they are a literal percentile of the $800+ price tag! And for $20 you'll be very impressed by the breathability and comfort that these Y2K-inspired ballet flats offer to your summertime style. Or some Nortiv 8 walking shoes because the popular Hoka sneakers can get a little pricey. Enjoy cloud-like comfort with each step while showing off bold hues with your favorite pilates fits, especially now that you don't have to choose between your monthly gym membership or a pair of dependable footwear. An adorable juice glass that's only $6 less than the popular Anthropologie glasses, but hey, you could spend that extra cash on fresh fruits and herbs to slice and garnish your summertime mint juleps and strawberry lemonades! A glitzy long-sleeve sequin dress that's a dead-ringer for the $765 16Arlington dress that you've might've spotted Mrs. Hailey Bieber in when scrolling through your pop culture news updates. But don't worry, you won't be mind-boggled at the price of this under-$100 alternative that'll make you still look like nepo-baby royalty when you're enjoying a free cocktail at your best friend's wedding reception. A pair of retro-style oval sunglasses if your fashion goals scream Miu Miu but your budget wails "No No". Instead of spending $400+ on designer looks, create your own luxury looks with thrifty alternatives and let even your haters think you're a big baller when they spot you at the local watering hole, aka that popular $$$ brunch spot. A pair of satin block-heel dress shoes that only your wallet will know aren't real Loeffler Randall pumps. Complement your going out fits with the pleated design and chunky heel, while still staying comfortable when it's time to bust out the "Cupid Shuffle" choreo at the arts district block party. A velvet V-neck maxi dress because you probably already spent a ridiculous amount of cash on bridal shower, bachelorette, and bridesmaid duties, and the only instructions to stand by your bestie's side was to wear a specific color. You'll look fabulous in this Jenny Yoo lookalike, and won't spend the rest of the night lamenting about how much you spent on a dress you'll only wear once (which you won't by the way)! Slip-on mules that look daringly similar to the more expensive Madewell Gemma shoes, but offer comfort and chic style for less. Sure, they're work appropriate, but you'll find out how versatile these shoes are when you start wearing them to almost every function because of the sophisticated touch they add to even your most shredded pair of jeans. A velvet ottoman that works double duty as a convenient stool when you need extra seating for guests or an end table when you want to keep your fresh cup of coffee near. The stacked pouf design looks awfully similar to the $425 Studio McGee ottomans, but fortunately for you this one is under $100! A pair of cozy platform slippers featuring all the style and comfort of the triple-digit Tasman Ugg ones, which are constantly in and out of stock! But these costs waaaaaay less! Cushionaire slides — nope, not Birkenstocks, but over 1,000 reviewers agree they're a darn good lookalike — designed to keep you comfy with a suede insole that contours to your foot for a *literal* perfect fit and flexible footbed. When you're making your way through the state fair, theme park, festival, or wherever else this summer, you'll be stylish and have zero worries about your dogs barking at the end of the day. *woof woof* A plated, jewel-embedded ring because you deserve a little treat, even if you can't splurge on a $1,250 Cartier Love Ring. 😭 Over 4,600 5-star rating customers have fallen in love with its simple, but luxe design, so why can't you?! Some mid-weight sweatpants that one TikToker swears are even better than the pricier Aritzia version because of how soft and cozy they feel when on. Personally, I don't believe there's a such thing as too much loungewear, and these cotton-blend essentials will quickly become your go-to comfort bottoms. A half-zip pullover sweatshirt, which is much cheaper than the popular Lululemon scuba hoodies ($118, btw) and allow you to effortlessly layer up in style. The lightweight cotton blend will keep you comfy while doing everything from running errands in the a.m. to catching up on your fave trash TV in the evening. An app-controlled Govee neon rope light for adding customized lighting to your space thanks to a flexible design that morphs into different shapes for unique backlighting *or* colorful decor. And compared to the pricey Phillips Hue rope lights, these won't cause you too much emotional pain when you click *add to cart*. So if you want to elevate the vibes of your Sims 4 gameplay, this an affordable option to add even more drama in your meticulously crafted PC soap opera! A comfy L-shaped modular sofa to turn your living room into the one of your dreams without having to splurge on a four-figure "cloud couch" from Restoration Hardware. The deep-seated cushions and versatile design will offer the same cozy look and you can enjoy a dreamy midday snooze knowing you didn't spend several months worth of rent on a couch. Hello, Hannah Montana? Pretty sure a steal like this is "the best of both worlds."
