'Not a great forecast': strong storms, high heats this weekend
A high of 91 degrees and severe storms are expected on June 12. Localized flooding is possible from Saturday's downpours, said meteorologist Greg Melo.
Rainy conditions will continue through Sunday, when scattered showers are expected with a high of 87 degrees.
"Not a great forecast," Melo said. "It's gonna be warm and humid, as well."
Rainy conditions are expected to continue into the start of the workweek. Temperatures may cool down by next weekend, Melo said, but it's too early to be sure.
In the meantime, it's best to throw an umbrella in your car just to be safe.

NWS: Indianapolis weather forecasted to cool down significantly this weekend
After days of scorching heat, the National Weather Service predicts that some temperate weather is finally in store for central Indiana. July 30 will be quite hot and humid with patches of fog creating a visible haze. A heat advisory remains in effect between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Thunderstorms slated to move into the area after 5 p.m. will bring long-awaited relief from the extreme heat and humidity Indianapolis has experienced so far this week, with air cooling down to as low as 60 degrees overnight this weekend. A few of those isolated storms on July 30 could be strong and severe, with a potential for wind gusts of 58 mph or more. There's a threat for localized flooding, too, potentially extending into July 31. The July 31 storms border a cold front coming from the west. "While thunderstorms can cool us off in the summertime locally, really the cooler dry air is associated with a (cold) front," NWS meteorologist Greg Melo said. July 31 will only feel "slightly drier," but cooler air coming into the area overnight going into August 1 will bring a noticeably drier day. The north side of Indianapolis will be the first to feel the effects, Melo said. The chance for rain begins to increase again on August 4 and August 5. Central Indiana under July 24 heat advisory, with temps to feel as high as 106 degrees
The National Weather Service of Indianapolis announced a heat advisory for the Indianapolis Metropolitan area and other Central Indiana counties on July 24, as the heat index is expected to feel as high as 106 degrees. The heat advisory will be active from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 24, as temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s, with dew points in the upper 70s. "What this means is that the actual temperatures outside will be about 105 degrees across the whole Central Indiana area," said NWS Indianapolis meteorologist Andrew White. "This is going to create dangerous conditions for folk who spend a lot of time outside, especially if they are in full sun or don't have enough water." Good afternoon! Hot and humid weather will return with dangerously high heat indices possible. The heat will first reach western portions of Indiana where a heat advisory is in effect for Wednesday afternoon. By Thursday, the heat will arrive for the rest of the state. #INwx Although the National Weather Service of Indianapolis has only placed a heat advisory for July 24, NWS meteorologists warn that temperatures will remain relatively high throughout the rest of the week, with the region's heat index remaining in the high 90s and low 100s until July 29. Meteorologists recommend people in the community try to stay cool and limit the amount of time they are in the sun. For residents who may not have a place to cool down, meteorologists recommend that the community utilize one of Indianapolis' cooling centers that can be found across the city. The city encourages Hoosiers to keep the following safety tips in mind over the next few days.
