People approach Lokesh to air grievances
Visakhapatnam: Aspart of his second day of the tour to North Andhra, Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh received petitions from the general public, who sought resolution for problems they were facing. It is recalled that Srinivas's former MLA father, Palla Simhachalam, died three days ago. Lokesh highlighted that the gathering of five lakh people would set a world record. He called for meticulous organisation with discipline and commitment, encouraging participation from all political parties across the state. The event, spanning 26 km from RK beach to Bheemili across 247 compartments, requires careful planning to avoid public inconvenience. Lokesh directed officials to manage vehicle movement efficiently, ensuring participants walked not more than 600 metre. Lokesh reviews arrangements for ‘International Yoga Day' in Vizag
IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Tuesday held a review meeting to discuss the ongoing arrangements for the 'International Yoga Day' event scheduled to be held on June 21. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and other state Ministers are set to attend the event. Mr Lokesh highlighted that Vizag has got a great opportunity to host such a prestigious event. On June 21, the entire world will be watching the coastal city. He urged the authorities to make foolproof arrangements, as five lakh people are expected to participate. He instructed officials to ensure that no inconveniences are caused to the attendees. The review meeting took place at AU Sagarika Convention with officials from various departments, the District Collector, and police officials in attendance. Mr. Lokesh said that the programme will be held along the 26-km stretch from RK Beach to Bheemunipatnam. Participants will be arranged in 247 compartments. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to arrive at the main venue near Kali Mata temple at RK Beach at 6.30 a.m. on the day of the event. Transport arrangements Mr. Lokesh emphasised that all participants should be transported to their respective compartments an hour before the arrival of the Prime Minister. He stressed on the importance of monitoring the transport arrangements; the Minister directed officials to minimise walking distances and said that no individual should be made to walk more than 600 metres. He added that vehicles should be allowed to drop attendees closer to the designated compartments. Mr. Lokesh said that the administration must take full responsibility for the attendees from the moment they leave their homes until they return. He said that June 19, 20, and 21 are crucial days for planning and coordination and urged officials to coordinate and work together to make the event successful. As many as 3,500 RTC buses and about 8,000 private buses have been arranged for participants coming from Visakhapatnam and surrounding districts. Secretariat staff have been assigned the responsibility of safely transporting people to and from the venue. Special Chief Secretary and State Nodal Officer for the International Yoga Day, M.T. Krishna Babu, said that a gazetted officer will be appointed to each compartment to oversee the arrangements and ensure there is no inconvenience to attendees. 'To coordinate the event, responsibilities have been assigned to 2,000 yoga instructors, who will assemble at the AU Grounds the night before.
