Report: Rams LT Alaric Jackson dealing with blood clots

Miami Herald9 hours ago

Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson is dealing with blood clots for the second time since 2022, NFL Network reported on Friday.
While Jackson is expected to play this season, the Rams secured insurance at the position by agreeing to terms with free agent tackle D.J. Humphries on Thursday.
Jackson, 26, followed up the 2022 season in which he played just eight games (six starts) by starting 29 of the Rams' 34 games over the past two campaigns.
Humphries, 31, started 15 games with the Arizona Cardinals in 2023 before sustaining a torn ACL. He joined the Kansas City Chiefs in late November of last season and started two games.
Humphries has started all 100 career games he has played since the Cardinals selected him with the 24th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft. He made the Pro Bowl in 2021.

Marshon Lattimore Gives Injury Update For Commanders

Marshon Lattimore Gives Injury Update For Commanders originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Veteran corner Marshon Lattimore was once a perennial Pro Bowler, earning three nominations in as many years from 2019-2021. Advertisement Injuries, as they do for many athletes, have gotten in the way. That was clear last season when the corner was traded to the Washington Commanders to bolster a young secondary. Lattimore played just two regular season games with Washington but helped them reach the conference title game. As he gets set for his first full season in the nation's capital, Lattimore is excited to return to his former (elite) self. Being healthy for an offseason program certainly helps with that goal. "Just getting a full offseason to get healthy, I feel great," Lattimore said during minicamp. "You know, I've been working a lot trying to keep being in shape, getting in better shape than I was obviously last year, dealing with an injury. I feel good." Advertisement Lattimore's hamstring injury kept him hobbled for most of the 2024 season. However, Washington was still confident enough in the veteran to give up a second-round pick for him. This season is important, though. Lattimore is entering the second-to-last year of his deal with Washington. If he does not produce in 2025, the Commanders could cut him in the following offseason and save over $18 million. The pressure is on the veteran cornerback to show he can still play at a high level. Doing so could give the Commanders a defensive boost necessary to take a step towards the Super Bowl. Anything less, and Lattimore's career may be in jeopardy. Joey Bosa Expected To Have Full Workload in Buffalo Bills Camp

Joey Bosa Expected To Have Full Workload in Buffalo Bills Camp originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The big splash of the Buffalo Bills' offseason was landing edge rusher Joey Bosa. Bosa is a five-time Pro Bowler and, when healthy, one of the best edge rushers in the NFL. Advertisement That caveat is an important one, though. Bosa has played just 28 games over the past five seasons. He had a mostly healthy 2024, playing in 14 games and being named to his fifth Pro Bowl. Bosa has been dealing with a calf injury that he suffered in the offseason, but he has been working with the Bills' medical staff this spring. Bosa has missed practice due to injury, and to the concern of many Bills fans. According to Buffalo News' Ryan O'Halloran, his absence is out of caution, and he'll be up and running for a full workload in July for training camp. "Joey Bosa (calf) said being cautious with sitting out but expects to be full go by camp" Halloran reported on X. Advertisement Bosa was drafted with the No. 3 overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Chargers. Bosa spent all nine of his NFL seasons with the franchise before being released this offseason. To date, Bosa has 72 career sacks, the 14th-highest mark among active players and a top 100 mark in NFL history since the stat became official in 1982. Bosa has tallied double-digit sack totals in four of his nine NFL seasons, and for his career he averages 11.4 sacks per 17 games. Bosa will be joining an already strong defensive unit for the Bills. Paired with Greg Rousseau on the edge and Ed Oliver and Daquan Jones in the middle, Buffalo's front four will be a force to be reckoned with for opposing offensive lines. Not to mention the fact that the Bills have a pair of heavy hitters behind them, in linebackers Matt Milano and Terrell Bernard. Advertisement Bosa's cousin, wide receiver Jake Kumerow played three seasons with the Bills from 2020-2022. In Buffalo, Kumerow played 27 games, hauling in seven catches for 114 yards and a touchdown. Kumerow mainly cut his teeth on special teams, where he played 430 snaps for the Bills. Aaron Rodgers to NFC West rival LA Rams was 'a possibility' this offseason

Aaron Rodgers to NFC West rival LA Rams was 'a possibility' this offseason The Rams' top priority was to make sure Matthew Stafford returned in 2025, but if he didn't, Aaron Rodgers was possible. The Los Angeles Rams kept quarterback Matthew Stafford on their team for 2025, agreeing to a new contract with the veteran. Aaron Rodgers signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, for just a little it, there was a shot that Rodgers could have ended up in the NFC West, where the Arizona Cardinals would have to face him twice. Rams head coach Sean McVay told NFL Network's Kyle Brandt this past week during OTAs that pursuing Rodgers was "a possibility." A report came up in the offseason about Rodgers' possible interest in playing for the Rams. The thought of Rodgers was a sort of contingency plan had they not been able to re-sign Stafford. 'Our first priority, which was consistently communicated, was, 'Hey, let's work out something with Matthew,' and we were very fortunate that it worked out that way,' McVay said. 'If that wasn't able to occur, then that [Rodgers] was definitely — conversations and a possibility for us." Could you have imagined how much more interesting the NFC West would have become? The distraction would not be an issue for the Cardinals, and it would have meant Rodgers returns to State Farm Stadium, where he has not fared well. Instead, Stafford returns and Rodgers is in Pittsburgh. The Cardinals won't face him and will have to find a way to get the best of Stafford, who is 9-2-1 in his last 12 appearances against them, including in the postseason.
