Pickpocket performs bizarre dance moves to steal from victims
Anis Bardich, 27, targeted four people in Birmingham city centre from July to August 2024 stealing their wallets and phones after confusing them with his dance moves.
Officers from the anti-pickpocketing Operation Taurus identified Bardich using facial recognition technology on CCTV footage.
He was convicted of four counts of theft and four counts of fraud by false representation, at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday 27 March, and sentenced to 24 weeks in prison.
He was ordered to pay £2,240 in compensation to the people he stole from.

Security camera footage also captured her return to the scene hours later, when she aimed three shots through the front windows of Mr Ali's family home. Betro told the court she flew into the UK to celebrate her 40th birthday and knew nothing of any shooting or murder plot by the time she returned to the US. Horror as girl ‘bundled into back of van' as cops launch urgent ‘kidnap probe'
COPS have launched an urgent "kidnap probe" after a girl was allegedly bundled into a back of a van. A woman who had been walking her dog on Jobs Lane in Coventry reported to West Midlands Police that a young girl had been "kidnapped" on Tuesday evening. She claimed that the youngster was bundled into the back of a van, which then drove off towards Jardine Crescent. West Midlands Police confirmed they are now investigating the reported kidnapping. Officers were dispatched at around 10pm on Tuesday. The force said enquiries were conducted, but no offences were disclosed. Cops said witnesses can provide any information they have in relation to the incident by calling 101. A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: 'We were called to Jardine Crescent, Coventry, shortly after 10pm yesterday (August 19). "Officers attended and carried out further enquiries, with no offences being disclosed.' 1
