Jagriti actress Rachana Mistry on World Music Day says, ‘Music is emotion, connection and healing'
'Some of the most beautiful moments in my life have been wrapped in music,' Rachana shared. 'Quiet evenings with soft classical tunes playing in the background, long walks where lyrics echoed my thoughts, and childhood memories of humming lullabies with my mother.'
For Rachana, music is more than just entertainment—it's her emotional anchor, both on-screen and off. 'I've always believed that music isn't just sound—it's emotion, connection, and healing,' she said.
Even during her intense acting scenes, she often turns to music to find focus. 'When I'm working through a complex scene, I sometimes listen to instrumental or classical pieces to centre myself.'
She is particularly drawn to the way music transcends language. 'What fascinates me most is how music transcends language—you don't need to understand the words to feel the emotion. That's true magic,' she explained.
On this World Music Day, Rachana hopes to celebrate music's quiet power. 'Whether you're dancing in your room, playing a flute under a tree, or simply listening in silence, music speaks. Always.'
As the voice behind Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah, a show rooted in hope and resilience, Rachana's sentiments echo the very spirit of music—one of healing, unity, and emotion that lingers long after the last note fades.

Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah actor Aarya Babbar on playing a dual role; says 'I even chose to colour my hair to ash blonde, white for Shashikant'
For any actor, stepping into a character isn't just about performance; it's a responsibility to stay true to the story. In Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah, Aarya Babbar , who made a strong impact as the ruthless Kalikant, now returns in a strikingly different role, that of Shashikant, Kalikant's younger brother. With Kalikant in a coma, Shashikant enters the narrative as a calm, morally grounded force, bringing a sense of hope and balance to the story. Just as the character brings stability on screen, Aarya, too, is working with equal intensity off-screen, carefully crafting contrast, depth, and authenticity in both roles to do complete justice to this powerful dual portrayal. The contrast between the two characters has allowed Aarya to explore an entirely different space as a performer. From portraying the evil, intense and manipulative Kalikanth to Shashikant, someone who is composed and principled, Aarya has redefined his screen presence, undergoing a real-life transformation by colouring his hair to ash blonde, white to reflect Shashikant's honest and grounded persona. Shashikant stands in stark contrast to the ruthless Kalikant, calm, principled, and rooted in empathy, and Aarya ensures that this contrast is felt in every frame. From voice modulation to body language and emotional tone, his detailed preparation brings out the individuality of each role, striking a fine balance that not only enriches the narrative but also showcases his range and depth as an actor at the core of the show's most crucial phase. Aarya Babbar said, "Portraying two completely different characters in the same show has been one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences of my career. Kalikant who is intense, layered with power and darkness; and now, stepping into the shoes of Shashikant, who is calm, positive, and rooted in values, has been like discovering a new dimension of myself as an actor." He further added, "I consciously worked on everything from voice and body language to even the energy I bring to each character to ensure the audience sees them as two distinct individuals. I even chose to colour my hair to ash blonde, white for Shashikant, just to bring a sense of honesty and lived-in realism to the role. This journey is helping me break boundaries, challenge my own methods, and evolve within the same story world. It's rare to get such a range in one show, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to grow through it." As Aarya Babbar continues to enjoy this transformative journey on the show, the upcoming twists promise high emotional stakes. Will Shashikant help Jagriti (Rachana Mistry) and Suraj ( Vijayendra Kumeria ) reunite after their fallout, or will Akash (Sagar Parekh) succeed in driving them apart for good? Aarya Babbar: It is the experts who curated this look for me

Anupama Solanki on saas-bahu dramas, influencers, and the changing face of Indian Tv; says ‘Good work always gets noticed'
As Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi gears up for its big comeback, the long-standing debate between traditional family dramas and newer, realistic storytelling has resurfaced. Actress Anupama Solanki, who has appeared in shows like Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Nath – Krishna Aur Gauri Ki Kahani, and is currently seen in Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah, believes there's space for both genres in Indian television. 'Realistic shows are working because the audience today wants stories they can relate to emotionally,' Anupama says. 'But Saas-Bahu dramas still have a very loyal audience. After a tiring day, people find comfort in watching family dramas. If the content is strong and told in a fresh way, both formats can succeed.' When asked if she prefers short-format series or long-running dailies, Anupama offers a balanced view: 'Both have their own charm. A limited series is crisp and allows me to try diverse roles quickly. A long-running show brings stability and lets you grow with your character. For me, the role is the deciding factor—if it has depth, I'm in.' With social media influencers increasingly stepping into acting, Anupama remains unfazed. 'Everyone has their journey. Influencers have their own fan base, but acting is a craft. It takes years of learning, discipline, and perseverance. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Remember Him? Anupama also believes Indian television has room to grow in terms of storytelling. 'TV often plays safe. I'd love to see stronger female characters, more daring subjects, and stories that reflect the real world. Audiences are ready for more—they just need to be given the chance.' With her clarity and grounded perspective, Anupama stands as a strong voice in an evolving industry—one that balances tradition with the need for change. As for OTT, she's clear about her vision. 'I would love to do a suspense thriller or a crime drama. OTT gives you a chance to break stereotypes, and I want to be seen in roles that are different from what I do on TV.'
