Baghaei: Tehran's decision to participate in next round of talks unclear

Saba Yemen14 hours ago

Tehran - Saba:
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei has stressed that it is unreasonable for Iran to wage such a war in the region without coordination or a green light from the United States, saying: "It is still unclear what decision we will make on Sunday regarding the next round of negotiations in this regard."
Regarding Iran's decision to participate in the next round of negotiations with the United States despite the Zionist regime's aggression on the country, Baghaei said, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA on Saturday: "The other side has emptied the negotiations of their meaning. You cannot simultaneously claim to be negotiating and engaging in dialogue to reach an understanding on an issue, while simultaneously dividing labor and allowing a racist regime to violate the country's territorial integrity."
Baghhaei emphasized that Iran held the US government responsible for the consequences and repercussions of this ill-considered and illegal measure taken by the Zionist regime. He said: "It is still unclear what decision we will make on Sunday in this regard."
He added: "The Zionist entity has always strived to drag Western countries into conflict and involvement in the region, and it appears to have succeeded this time as well, somehow influencing the diplomatic process with this adventure. This, in fact, demonstrates that American decision-makers are still deeply influenced by this entity."
It is worth noting that the Zionist entity launched attacks on areas in Tehran and other cities across the country at dawn on Friday, and several residential buildings were bombed in these attacks.
These attacks martyred the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Major General Hossein Salami; the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri; the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh; the Member of Parliament and former Head of the Atomic Energy Organization, Fereydoun Abbasi; the Commander of the Khatam al-Anbia (PBUH) Headquarters, Major General Gholam Ali Rashid; and the nuclear scientist and President of Azadi University, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi.

Pezeshkian to Macron: Negotiations amidst aggression false illusion

Tehran – Saba: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday stressed that the belief that his country can be forced to accept unreasonable demands and double standards under pressure, or to sit at the negotiating table, in light of the Zionist entity's ongoing aggression, is a false illusion based on no reality. This came during a phone call between Pezeshkian and French President Emmanuel Macron. According to the Iranian Tasnim News Agency, the Iranian President indicated during the call, which took place Saturday evening, that he came to this position with the slogan of internal reconciliation and openness to the world, but the Zionist entity has sought from day one, through the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh, to disrupt and obstruct these goals. He added that Iran has never sought to possess a nuclear weapon, basing this on its ideological principles and the fatwa of the Supreme Leader. He noted that Iran has always been willing to reach an understanding and agreement through dialogue and cooperation, "but the major powers, instead of accepting our arguments, preferred to believe the lies of an entity seeking to destabilize the region." Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran is not seeking war and bloodshed, but will never hesitate to strongly defend itself. He added, "We have always preferred to resolve issues through diplomatic means, but anyone who imagines that Iran will submit under pressure and accept irrational demands, or that it will negotiate while the Zionist attacks continue, is deluded." He pointed out that American officials repeatedly emphasized during the negotiations that the Israeli entity does not launch any aggression without American coordination and approval. "Therefore, the current attacks were also carried out with an American green light. If Washington truly wanted to, it could rein in this entity and bring it back to its true size." For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron affirmed during the call that France is ready to play a more active role in resolving the Iranian nuclear issue. He added that Paris was unaware of Israel's intention to attack Iran and was not involved in any way. He expressed hope that these developments would not affect relations and cooperation between the two countries. Macron added that France adopts a firm stance against the Zionist attacks on Gaza and "will continue to adhere to this approach." Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
