Setting off from UN1T 7, a popular biker café in Llanelli, the convoy enjoyed sunshine and scenic views as they cruised through the Towy Valley before making a striking pit stop at the Cawdor Hotel in Llandeilo. Spectators were treated to a gleaming display of motorcycles that brought traffic to a temporary halt, with many stopping to snap photos of the unique spectacle.

From Llandeilo, the riders crossed the River Towy and meandered along country lanes to Llanarthne, where they received special access to the National Botanic Garden of Wales. There, against the backdrop of the Great Glasshouse, the group created a picture-perfect moment for onlookers and participants alike.

This year's local ride, organised by Dan Stickland, has already raised close to £4,000. Across Wales, similar rides took place in Cardiff, Pembrokeshire, Rhyl, Swansea and Ystradgynlais, joining over 1,000 coordinated events held simultaneously in 108 countries.
Since its inception in 2012, The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride has raised nearly 60 million US dollars for men's health causes globally.

A RUSTBUCKET Porsche which has spent over 60 years in a barn is tipped to sell for a whopping £400,000. The Porsche 356 Speedster was bought new in 1955 and has been in only one family since then. 5 5 After clocking up 62,000 miles in seven years, it was taken off the road and tucked away in a barn on a smallholding in Ohio, US. The classic vehicle was recently rediscovered after a car expert received a 'tip off' about its existence. They found the Porsche in a sorry state with all its silver paintwork peeled off. It has since undergone an extensive restoration and has now been shipped over to England to be sold in Iconic Auctioneers' forthcoming Silverstone sale. The engine and gearbox have been stripped out and rebuilt so the car is roadworthy and has been driven recently. As the carpets and seat coverings were beyond preservation, they were replaced with aged leather. But the left-hand drive Porsche retains its original dashboard, steering wheel and gauges. An Iconic Auctioneers spokesperson said: "Following a tip-off, this early 356 Speedster was uncovered at a smallholding in Ohio, where it had reportedly remained with the same family for over 70 years. "The engine was disassembled and remarkably, only required new piston rings before being fully inspected and reassembled. "The matching gearbox was similarly stripped, checked and rebuilt, while the fuel system was recommissioned, retaining the original fuel tank with its attractive patination. Ultra-rare 'prettiest' Ferrari kept under wraps for over a decade is set to fetch an eye-watering sum at auction "Externally, every effort was made to preserve the integrity of the original early 356 body. "It is understood that the Speedster was in regular use only until 1962, covering approximately 60,000 miles before being laid to rest in the barn where it was later discovered. "At some point early in its life, possibly by the supplying dealership, it was repainted silver, traces of which remain visible on the bodywork today. "We are informed that the Speedster performs exceptionally well, idling smoothly with no smoke and having completed various trips without issue. "This is a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptionally well preserved Pre-A 356 Speedster, a model highly regarded for its purity and iconic design. "From the few Pre-A Speedsters that do make it to market, it is very rare to see a survivor car as many are now restored." The sale takes place on August 23. 5 5

Trade taxes halve profits at Jaguar Land Rover
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) profits fell by half after a slump in sales as the luxury group was pummelled by US trade tariffs on car parts. The carmaker said Donald Trump's import taxes have had a 'direct and material impact on profitability' in the three months to June. This week it announced a new chief executive after Adrian Mardell quit following a highly criticised 'woke' rebrand. Profits fell 49 per cent to £351m in the second quarter of the year and blamed 'challenging global economic conditions'. Sales fell 9 per cent to £6.6billion. But a trade deal between America and the UK would 'significantly reduce the financial impact of US tariffs'. Levies on British vehicles dropped from 27.5 per cent to 10 per cent last month after a deal between Trump and Prime Minister Keir Starmer. JLR halted shipments to the US in April but restarted exporting in early May. The profit plunge comes as the chief financial officer of JLR parent company Tata Motors, PB Balaji, 54, is set to take over as chief executive in November.

Jaguar Land Rover sees profits almost halve after US tariff hit
The group reported a 49.4% plunge in underlying pre-tax profits to £351 million in its first quarter to the end of June. It follows a 9.2% drop in revenues to £6.6 billion, after a temporary pause in exports to the US and the planned wind-down of older Jaguar models ahead of the launch of new electric ranges in 2026. JLR said US tariffs had a 'direct and material impact on profitability and cash flow in the period'. But it added the 'US-UK trade deal will significantly reduce the financial impact of US tariffs going forward'. The Tata-owned group last month dealt a blow to workers, announcing plans to axe up to 500 management jobs in the UK. The cuts will impact 1.5% of its UK workforce of more than 33,000, with the jobs going as part of a voluntary redundancy programme for managers. JLR chief executive Adrian Mardell said the results come amid 'challenging global economic conditions'. He added: 'We are grateful to the UK and US governments for delivering at speed the new UK-US trade deal, which will lessen the significant US tariff impact in subsequent quarters, as will, in due course, the EU-US trade deal announced on July 27.' It has been a challenging time for the group, with its recent rebranding and advertising strategy attracting controversy. Mr Mardell also announced plans to retire in November after three years at the helm and 35 years with the company. He will be replaced by PB Balaji, group financial officer of Tata Motors. JLR halted new shipments to the US in April but restarted exports in early May amid hopes that a trade deal for the sector would be struck. The car firm saw wholesale sales in North America drop by 12.2% year-on-year in the quarter after the pause. The group has since welcomed trade deals with the US, which reduced tariffs on UK-made vehicles exported to America from 27.5% to 10% from June 30. An EU-US trade deal was also announced on July 27, which will reduce the tariffs on JLR's vehicles made in the EU and exported to the US from 27.5% to 15%.
