Lionel Messi among speakers at America Business Forum in Miami Nov. 5-6
Lionel Messi, who has had a massive impact on soccer in the United States since he joined Inter Miami two years ago, is scheduled to be among the speakers at the America Business Forum, a summit for global leaders being held in Miami on Nov. 5-6. The forum includes a collection of top athletes, entrepreneurs, investors, and cultural innovators and will take place at the Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat. The theme of the summit is the intersection of sports, business, and culture, which is fitting with the United States co-hosting the 2026 World Cup along with Mexico and Canada. In addition to Messi, other speakers on the agenda include FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali, Citadel founder and CEO Ken Griffin, WeWork founder Adam Neumann, and movie star and producer Will Smith. Additional speakers will be announced soon. 'It is an honor to host the first-ever America Business Forum in the U.S. and bring these groundbreaking conversations to Miami,' said Miami Mayor Francis Suárez, Chairman of the Board of America Business Forum. 'For the past decade, our city has been a magnet for visionaries at the forefront of their fields and a global capital of innovation, culture, and commerce. We are proud to welcome world-class leaders to Miami for this historic event and look forward to conversations that will shape the future.' 'America Business Forum has become a premier destination for leaders to share bold visions for the future and set the global agenda,' said Ignacio Gonzalez, founder of America Business Forum. 'As we bring the Forum to the United States, and to Miami – a city that perfectly embodies innovation, culture, and global connection – we're proud to spotlight those shaping business trends worldwide.' Among the events surrounding the forum will be the Power 100, where America Business Forum brings together the 100 most influential leaders arriving in Miami for the forum, and the VIP Night Forum, Miami's official closing party for over 1,000 guests, featuring a special international star. Tickets range from $990 to $4,500. Registration for the forum opens on August 12. For tickets and updates, visit

On this episode of The Pursuit of Exceptional Care, host T.J. McCullough, market president and publisher of the Charlotte Business Journal, talks with Dr. Leo Spector, CEO of OrthoCarolina, and Bob Raspa, PA and chief administration officer, about the importance of OrthoCarolina being physician owned and led. 'The patient's experience is very, very important to the people making decisions at OrthoCarolina because they're actually the shareholders of the practice,' Raspa said. 'Every interaction we have with patients is really important to our business's success.' Spector agrees and shares the experiences that led him to recognize the benefits of a different structure of care for patients. 'At the end of the day, we are in the business of caring for patients,' Spector said. 'And the decisions that are being made are by those who are directly caring for patients every single day and are thinking about how those decisions impact our ability to deliver the care that we think our patients need.'
