Congressman Ro Khanna, who represents California's 17th Congressional District and serves on committees including Oversight and Accountability, has launched an online petition against Roblox , a popular gaming platform for kids, to implement stronger safeguards for children on its platform, accusing the company of 'not doing enough to protect kids'.'Khanna, whose district includes Roblox's headquarters in San Mateo County, cited concerns over inappropriate content, online predators, and insufficient moderation.RealSchlep, a YouTuber with more than 7,50,000 subscribers, has recently drawn attention for his self-described mission to expose alleged predators on Roblox, claiming his work has resulted in six arrests. However, Roblox banned his account and issued a cease-and-desist order, alleging he broke platform rules by staging simulated child-endangerment chats and disclosing private user data.Schlep countered that he repeatedly sent Roblox's safety team evidence of predatory behavior but received little to no meaningful action in return, accusing the company of failing to protect its young users despite his attempts to assist in removing dangerous individuals from the platform.Schlep says Congressman Khanna has reached out to him and is pressing Roblox to be more transparent about its child safety measures. In a video the YouTuber posted on X, Khanna announced he has launched a petition to do more to protect children, provide more support to parents, and strengthen law enforcement protocols that help bring predators to justice."There is a growing issue in our country with Roblox, an online gaming platform, and the abuse of children. Roblox is simply not doing enough to protect our kids, inform parents, and go after child predators," Khanna said in the video.Khanna urged the public to sign a petition demanding Roblox 'do more' to protect children, setting a goal of 1 million signatures by Friday, August 15. "We need to keep our kids safe online," he said.Khanna's involvement has heightened pressure on Roblox, signaling the platform could face stricter regulations or legal action. With over 380 million monthly active users - most of them children and teens- Roblox has already been targeted by multiple negligence lawsuits.According to hypefresh.com, recent cases include a 13-year-old Iowa girl allegedly abducted after being groomed on the platform, an 11-year-old Florida girl raped by a predator she met there, and a 13-year-old California boy coerced into sending explicit images. The lawsuits argue that Roblox's chat features and virtual currency, Robux, create opportunities for predators to exploit young users.

Roblox banned in Qatar over child safety fears as predator reports surface; users now call for Donald Trump to ban the game in the US

Qatar blocked access to the massively popular online platform Roblox on August 13, 2025, sparking shock among players. The move reportedly followed strong social media campaigns in Qatar, raising concerns over child safety, harmful interactions, and exposure to inappropriate content. These campaigns were largely led by YouTuber and streamer Schlep, who was recently banned from Roblox after exposing six alleged sexual predators on the platform. Now, the controversy is spilling over to the United States, where some internet users, mostly concerned parents, are tagging President Donald Trump on social media, urging him to ban Roblox nationwide. The situation has reignited global debates over online game moderation, safety for minors, and whether government intervention is the right approach to protect young gamers. Here's a breakdown of what's happening. Why did Qatar ban Roblox? Roblox allows millions of players to create, share, and play user-generated games. While this creativity is its main appeal, it has also drawn criticism over unsafe interactions, predatory behaviour, and inappropriate content slipping past moderation. In Qatar, these concerns escalated after viral posts claimed children were exposed to harmful situations in-game. The resulting public pressure reportedly pushed authorities to block Roblox entirely. Qatar has reportedly blocked access to Roblox Social Media calls for a US ban on Roblox Following the Qatar ban, some American users began tagging Donald Trump in posts, urging him to ban Roblox in the United States. Supporters of this idea point to similar concerns, especially around child exploitation and poor content moderation; however, many have argued it would be an overreach that punishes millions of safe players. Will trump ban in US Roblox? 🇺🇸 @realDonaldTrump I have a you ban Roblox in the United States of America? In your victory speech, you said America will be safe again, and taking down Roblox, a huge company with a reputation for putting everyone in danger, will certainly fill that.#Roblox I'm not a fan of Trump but I love Roblox BUT YES PLEASE BAN IT ITS GONE TOO FAR I'm pretty sure that Roblox will be ban in the united states of America for predator protection A pattern of global restrictions on Roblox Qatar's action follows similar bans in Turkey, Oman, and China. In each case, safety concerns and weak moderation tools were cited. Despite this, Roblox continues to grow worldwide, boasting millions of active players. The big question now is whether growing public pressure in the US could trigger political action similar to Qatar's. Schlep Roblox controversy explained Schlep, a 22-year-old YouTuber and former Roblox player, built a reputation exposing alleged child predators by posing as minors and catching offenders on camera. His efforts reportedly led to six real-world arrests and stemmed, in part, from his past trauma involving grooming on the platform. In August 2025, Roblox permanently banned him and issued a cease-and-desist letter, alleging his 'vigilante' methods breached community standards by simulating child-endangerment chats, sharing personal data, and bypassing official safety channels. The move ignited sharp debate over how best to protect children online, with voices like KreekCraft defending Schlep's intentions and many calling for more transparent moderation policies.

Washington has accused New Delhi of indirectly funding Moscow's war in Ukraine. India has rejected the charges, calling the tariffs 'unfair, unjustified, and unreasonable,' and defending its Russian oil imports as critical for national energy to the BBC, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Bloomberg TV, 'We've put secondary tariffs on Indians for buying Russian oil. And I could see, if things don't go well, then sanctions or secondary tariffs could go up.'In a separate interview with Fox News, Bessent described India as 'a bit recalcitrant' in trade negotiations. Talks between the two countries stalled earlier this month, with Trump suspending discussions over India's Russian trade and other reported refiners in India, the world's top importer of seaborne Russian crude, are scouring the globe for alternative supplies, hedging their bets ahead of a summit between the US and Russian negotiators are expected to arrive in India on 25 August, just two days before the higher tariffs are scheduled to take effect. Experts believe India's firm position on protecting its agriculture and dairy markets will remain a sticking and Putin are set to meet in Anchorage to discuss ending the war in Ukraine, which has entered its fourth year. Trump has described the summit as a 'feel-out meeting' to gauge Moscow's willingness to agree to a ceasefire, warning of 'severe consequences' if no progress is has previously suggested that a peace deal could involve 'some swapping of territories,' an idea Ukraine has rejected on constitutional President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has insisted there will be no peace deal without Kyiv's participation and reaffirmed that Ukraine will not cede territory to officials have also voiced concern that a one-on-one meeting between Trump and Putin, without Ukrainian involvement, could lead to an agreement favouring Russian interests.
