Japanese Original
While 'Saiyaara' is being criticised for not crediting 'A Moment to Remember', others have pointed out that the 2004 Korean film itself is an unofficial remake of the 2001 Japanese television drama 'Pure Soul'.
The Japanese original follows Kaoru, a 30-year-old woman happily married to Koichi, whose world unravels after she is diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Amidst her emotional turmoil, Kaoru discovers she is pregnant. She decides to leave behind a heartfelt letter to her unborn daughter, Himawari, hoping to preserve her love and memories as her condition deteriorates.
Mohit Suri on Film's Plot
Director Suri had earlier maintained that 'Saiyaara' was an original script, co-written with Sankalp Sadanah, and that the story had evolved from his desire to explore 'the pain in love' in a grounded and Indianised setting.
In an interview with PTI, Suri said, 'In love, there will be pain… If love is not real, it's not felt. I believe in it more than I fantasise about it.'
Despite the growing criticism, Saiyaara continues its strong run at the box office. With glowing reviews and mass appeal, particularly among younger audiences. It has taken the crown as one of the most commercially successful debut films of all time in India.

This bone-chilling horror film has 8 parts, made on budget of Rs 1817 crores, earned Rs 17400 crores, its last part is coming in..., movie name is...

It began with a haunted farmhouse, a pair of determined investigators, and an eerie clap in the dark. What followed was not just a single terrifying tale but the birth of one of the most chilling cinematic universes in horror history. With each chapter, it dove deeper into cursed objects, demonic entities, and the battles between faith and fear. Which horror franchise is this? Here we are talking about 2013's The Conjuring, where real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) helped the Perron family deal with a demonic presence in their Rhode Island farmhouse. Directed by James Wan, the film was lauded for its suspense, emotional depth, and classic horror style, sparking global success. The Conjuring 2, which was released in 2016, shifted to London, where the Warrens investigated the Enfield poltergeist. The film introduced the demon Valak, later known as The Nun. Rich in atmosphere and character development, it deepened the emotional bond between the Warrens while expanding the horror universe. The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, which made its debut in 2021, took a legal turn, portraying the real 1981 bone-chilling trial of Arne Johnson, where demonic possession was used as a defense for murder. While stylistically different, it explored the psychological toll of evil and added a thriller element to the franchise. What were the other parts that were connected to The Conjuring universe? Alongside the main Conjuring trilogy, the cinematic universe expanded with chilling spin-offs that deepened its supernatural mythology. The Annabelle series, Annabelle (2014), Annabelle: Creation (2017), and Annabelle Comes Home (2019), focused on the sinister doll locked away in the Warrens' artifact room. The Nun (2018) took viewers to 1950s Romania to explore the dark origins of Valak, the demonic nun introduced in The Conjuring 2. How much collection has been done by the franchise? Collectively, these films, which were made under Rs 1817 crores, amassed Rs 17400 crores, making the Conjuring Universe one of the most successful and enduring horror franchises in cinematic history. What was the last case of the Warrens? Now, the final chapter awaits, which is The Conjuring: Last Rites. As it is said to close the book on Ed and Lorraine's on-screen journey. This time, they confront the dark forces behind the infamous Smurl haunting of the 1980s. Promising emotional stakes, spiritual warfare, and a culmination of all that came before, Last Rites aims to be a haunting farewell to the universe that started with something very sinister. According to the trailer, it is expected that this part is going to become one of the most bone-chilling ride amongst all. The Conjuring: Last Rites, is slated for release on September 5, 2025.

Was K-pop idol Wonhee a bully at school? ILLIT fans unravel the truth

Agencies ILLIT's Wonhee Faces Backlash Over Alleged Bullying: False Claims, Cultural Deception, and HYBE's Troubled Past HYBE's emerging girl group, ILLIT, recently found itself at the center of a brewing controversy that stirred both local and international K-pop fans. The issue began when one of the group's members, Wonhee, was targeted by an online accusation that quickly gained traction across social media platforms. The claims alleged that Wonhee had repeatedly bullied a fellow student during her school years. These assertions came to light through a now-viral post uploaded on X (formerly known as Twitter). The post, written in grammatically flawed Korean, claimed to share the real story behind Wonhee's public persona. The author stated that they had attended school alongside Wonhee and were subjected to persistent bullying by her. The tone of the message conveyed emotional distress and called on others to see through what the accuser described as a false image of the K-pop the shocking nature of the accusation, South Korean netizens swiftly detected irregularities in the way the story was presented. It wasn't necessarily the content of the bullying claims that raised suspicions, but rather the awkward and inconsistent Korean language used in the post. Native speakers noted that certain sentence structures and vocabulary choices were odd and unnatural, hinting at a possible non-Korean origin. — prodgselle (@prodgselle) As the post continued to circulate, curious users began looking into the background of the person making the claims. Through digital sleuthing and cross-referencing the accuser's activity on other platforms, it was uncovered that the person was, in fact, not Korean. They were eventually identified as an Indonesian K-pop enthusiast and an outspoken fan of BLACKPINK, as per a Koreaboo report. This discovery shifted public sentiment dramatically. Once the revelation was made, the individual was accused of 'Korean-baiting'—a "practice in which someone mimics Korean identity or uses poorly translated Korean in an attempt to gain credibility in K-pop communities. The backlash was swift and intense, as many fans and commentators condemned the deliberate attempt to mislead others by exploiting cultural incident has reignited broader concerns within the K-pop fandom about how quickly unverified allegations can spiral out of control, especially when masked with cultural appropriation or identity deception. Misinformation, especially in the digital age, travels fast and can cause real harm to idols' reputations and careers even before the truth is this isn't the first time a member of a HYBE girl group has come under fire for alleged bullying. In 2022, a similar situation unfolded with Garam, who was one of the original members of HYBE's debut girl group, LE SSERAFIM. At the time, Garam faced a barrage of accusations, including bullying, engaging in underage drinking and smoking, and involvement in school-related HYBE stood by Garam and moved forward with her inclusion in the group's debut, which took place in May 2022. However, the situation escalated when an individual came forward with legal representation and produced documents reportedly confirming that disciplinary actions had been taken against Garam during her school years. The seriousness of the documents lent credibility to the accusations, prompting a public relations crisis for the response, HYBE issued a statement defending Garam and disputing the validity of the evidence. Nonetheless, the controversy continued to gain momentum. The mounting pressure ultimately led to Garam's removal from the group in July 2022, just two months after their debut. LE SSERAFIM then reorganized as a five-member unit and made their first comeback without her in October of the same year with their release ANTI-FRAGILE. Since parting ways with HYBE, Garam has kept a low public profile. She completed her studies and graduated from the School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA) in May 2023, according to . Additionally, it was revealed that she had been accepted into the acting department of Dongguk University, a well-respected institution in South Korea known for producing notable performers. These recurring controversies underline the complex intersection of fame, fandom, and accountability in the world of K-pop. While bullying is a serious issue that deserves attention and action when verified, the weaponization of false claims—especially when driven by fan rivalries or disguised identities—poses its own set of ethical concerns. As the global influence of K-pop continues to grow, so too does the responsibility of fans and companies to handle such matters with transparency, integrity, and sensitivity.
