Hunter Biden drops lawsuit against Fox News
Hunter Biden on Friday dropped a lawsuit against Fox News that accused the right-wing network of unlawfully airing sexually explicit images of him.
This is the second time Hunter Biden has filed and then voluntarily dismissed a lawsuit against Fox News. The cases stemmed from a 2022 digital miniseries that featured a dramatized 'mock trial' against Hunter Biden about his overseas financial dealings.
Lawyers for former President Joe Biden's son claimed Fox News violated 'revenge porn' laws and defamed him. They did not explain in court filings why they dropped the case, though they recently lost an effort to move the case from federal to New York state court.
CNN has reached out to Hunter Biden's lawyers seeking comment.
In a statement sent to CNN, a Fox News Media spokesperson said, 'We are pleased to move on now that Hunter Biden has finally voluntarily withdrawn this meritless case which proved to be nothing more than a politically motivated stunt.'

The Fox series highlighted Hunter Biden's lucrative business deals in Ukraine and China, which he pursued his father was vice president. It also delved into his admitted struggles with drug abuse and alcoholism. The program also featured some intimate images of Hunter Biden with various women, which appeared to originate from his infamous laptop.
After he threatened a lawsuit in April 2024, the miniseries was taken down from the Fox Nation streaming site. He sued Fox anyway last summer, dropped the case after a few weeks, filed a new lawsuit in October, and dropped that case on Friday. In a court filing, his lawyers said he was dropping the case 'with prejudice,' meaning he can't file it again.
Hunter Biden was convicted last year on federal gun charges and pleaded guilty to tax crimes related to his overseas deals. However, he was never accused of illegally lobbying the US government on behalf of his foreign clients, as was portrayed in the Fox miniseries.
Before he could be sentenced — and potentially sent to prison — his father issued a full pardon in December, despite repeatedly pledging that he would not grant any clemency.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Veterans gathered at the edge of the UC San Diego Campus on D-Day to call on the Trump administration to fully fund the Jennifer Moreno Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in La Jolla and all VAs across the nation. 'The Trump administration plans to fire 80,000 staff, further exacerbating a looming health care disaster,' said Karisa May, a former Marine reservist from the 4th Medical Battalion San Diego. Widow's of military vets are warning of the pending cuts to services. 'Those treatments that he received that extended his life may no longer be available to other vets at this facility and throughout the nation,' said Misty O'Healy, a surviving spouse of a Vietnam Vet. Veterans marched through the UC San Diego campus receiving support from drivers and calling on Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to leave the glorious military achievements of minorities untouched. Veterans also called on the administration to bring back veterans who have been detained by Immigration and Customs officials. 'When it comes to military naturalization, we all count. Suspect arrested in April shooting death of Grand Prairie man, police say
Grand Prairie police have arrested a man who allegedly shot and killed an 18-year-old at a gas station on April 27, officials said in a statement. The suspect, Keionn Winters, 18, was arrested May 27 with assistance from the U.S. Marshal's Service, according to the statement. Winters has been charged with capital murder; his bond has been set at $1 million. The victim, 18-year-old Jose Luis Flores, was pumping gas at a Circle K when Winters attempted to rob him prior to shooting him several times, Flores' family said in an online petition. The petition, which has collected over 100 signatures, is urging the justice system to impose the death penalty on Winters. 'Allowing him to evade the death penalty would send a dangerous message that the lives of victims like Jose Luis are not valued,' Flores' sister wrote in the petition. In a statement at the time of the shooting, police said Flores may have been involved in 'high-risk activity' shortly before his death, but did not specify what the activity was.

A ‘free spirit': Mother remembers teen at center of metro-east investigation
Tiffany Zancha describes her 19-year-old son, Damien Zancha, as a 'free spirit' who was known for living up to the ideals of his namesake, St. Damien, the Catholic saint who ministered to outcasts and people with leprosy in Hawaii in the 1800s. 'He was a free spirit through and through,' Tiffany Zancha said about her son in a text Friday to the Belleville News-Democrat. 'If he wanted to do something — by God, he was going to do it, no matter what anyone said.' A funeral service is set for Saturday for Damien Zancha, who is the focus of an ongoing death investigation in connection with what Highland police report as 'an incident that occurred at Silver Lake' last month. Tiffany Zancha, who said her son died on May 22, said she wanted to 'hold off' on commenting on the police investigation at this time. Highland Police Chief Carole Widman has declined to release details regarding Damien Zancha's death or comment on whether anyone has been arrested. Rumors have been swirling on social media about the circumstances surrounding the teenager's death. 'Please be advised that we are aware of numerous social media posts regarding this incident,' the Highland Police Department said in a news release Thursday. 'This is an open and active investigation. Forensic analysis results in this case are still pending. No further details are being released at this time to preserve the integrity of the investigation.' Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective Jeremiah Kingery at 618-654-2131, ext 3. Silver Lake is part of Silver Lake Park, which is operated by the city of Highland. He graduated from Highland High School in 2024 and loved to fish, according to his obituary. Tiffany Zancha said her son was named for St. Damien. 'From the start, Damien was always a funny, witty child that could light up any room,' she wrote. 'That child loved sports so much that his first word was 'ball.' He wanted to play any and every sport and so he did. From soccer, basketball and football to wrestling and track (and) field.' She said her son wanted to be 'included and accepted for who he was and not the picture that the world had painted of him. 'He loved his friends and family with a ferocity that all of us hope we can find in this lifetime,' she wrote. To sum up her memories of her son, Tiffany Zancha used an anglicized Gaelic phrase about someone's strong admiration for another: 'He was one of (a) kind. My macushla.'
