Uniqlo shoppers have praised the fit and style of the midi dress, claiming it "fits fabulously" and "looks great"
Uniqlo shoppers are praising a "divine" dress they've been quickly snapping up online. The Japanese retailer is well known for its affordable and on-trend fashion - and one dress in particular is proving a huge hit with fans.
The Gingham Linen Blend V Neck Dress, which is priced at £39.90, is available in black and white and comes in sizes XXS to XL. According to the product description, the dress "gathers at the shoulders and waist create flattering lines."
The dress also features a button-down front, short sleeves and side pockets. The retailer pointed out that the product is machine washable but is not suitable for tumble-drying.
For those searching for the perfect summer midi dress, there are a number of options on the market including New Look's Black Gingham Print Embroidered Frill Sleeve Tiered Midi Dress for £35.99. Elsewhere, ASOS has the cotton sleeveless midi sundress in brown for £26, while Very stocks the Rib Woven Skirt Dress, priced at £25.
The Uniqlo dress has an overall rating of 4.1 online, having racked up rave reviews from impressed shoppers. Among them, one person said: "Fits perfectly. Wonderful cut. Will be wearing this a lot."
A second wrote: "A beautiful dress. I fell in love this dress as soon as I saw it in the email and ordered as soon as it became available. It is beautifully made, stylish and a perfect fit."
A third added: "Lovely gingham dress. Been looking for a simple black and white gingham dress for a while. Many are too flowing, flouncy or smocky this is just perfect understated but stylish and a nice but comfortable fit. Love it."
Some shoppers pointed out issues with the fit and sizing of the dress, with one person writing: "Since when has XXS become too big!! Sizes getting bigger. I'm not shrinking. Loved the style, feel, pocket, unfortunately had to send back."
Another said: "Cute dress but unflattering cut. Very voluminous on the hips, makes me look matronly." However, most of the reviews were positive; one shopper commented: " Lovely summer dress. I am always XXS in Uniqlo but opted for XXS in this dress and it fits perfectly. Great quality and lovely style. I love it! Would buy more if other colours available."
A different review read: "Divine summer dress. I bought an XL - I'm a top-heavy 16. It fits fabulously and looks great. I'd just bought a summery black dress from a well known high street store, but it's now going back as this one is the biz."
Another added: "Perfect summer dress. Really flattering summer dress. I like the gingham - too often summer dresses are floral. Fabric feels like cotton even though it's a blend. Quite a loose fit."
The Gingham Linen Blend V Neck Dress is available from the Uniqlo website for £39.90 here. Shoppers can find their nearest store here.

Japan's 'Empress of Pop' addresses claims Elon Musk is father of her child

A huge Japanese pop star, Ayumi Hamasaki, has addressed the rumours that she secretly had Elon Musk's baby. The speculation started when another of the women Musk had a child with – MAGA author and influencer Ashley St. Clair – told The New York Times that he had a baby with a Japanese pop star. Hamasaki quickly became the primary suspect as fans discussed which J-Pop star St. Clair might have been referring to. 'I've been keeping an eye on this, and I guess it's time for me to speak up. Elon Musk is not the father of [either of] my children,' Hamasaki wrote on her Instagram Story, according to Tokyo Weekender. Hamasaki, 46, has two sons with two different men, born in 2019 and 2021. She has never revealed the identities of the fathers. According to text messages obtained by The Wall Street Journal, Musk texted St. Clair in 2023 about meeting with 'Japanese officials' about becoming a sperm donor for a high-profile Japanese woman. 'He made it seem like it was just his altruism and he generally believed these people should just have children,' St. Clair, who gave birth to his 13th child last year, said. 'They want me to be a sperm donor. No romance or anything, just sperm,' Musk texted St. Clair before telling her he had agreed to give his sperm to the woman. Musk has previously claimed that 'civilization is going to crumble' if people don't continue to have children, and views his paternal contributions as a way of combating this. Hamasaki laughed off the rumours, admitting its the kind of thing she might do: 'Even my mom laughed when she heard the rumours, saying, 'This seems kind of Ayu-like,' and if I were someone else, I'd probably be saying 'Ayu is the pop star [St Clair] was talking about, right?' But it's just not true,' she said on Instagram. She continued, in a more serious tone: 'Setting aside my personal image, when my kids are old enough to start Googling things, I don't want them to run into the rumors and think they're true, so I'm firmly denying them,' the singer added. Hamasaki is the best-selling solo artist in Japan, having sold over 50million albums and earning her the title 'Empress of Pop' across all of Asia. As of 2025, Musk has fathered at least 14 children with four different women. Musk's first known children were with his ex-wife Justine Wilson, a Canadian author. The couple had six children together: Their first son, Nevada Alexander, tragically died of SIDS at just 10 weeks old. They later welcomed twins, Griffin and Vivian, in 2004, followed by triplets, Kai, Saxon, and Damian, in 2006. In 2022, Vivian publicly distanced herself from Musk, coming out as transgender, legally changing her name, and adopting her mother's surname. Musk also shares three children with musician Grimes (Claire Boucher). Their first child, X Æ A-Xii, was born in 2020 and became a viral sensation thanks to his name. He was also spotted at the White House last week – without his mother's consent. 'He should not be in public like this,' Grimes wrote following the appearance. 'I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I'm glad he was polite. Sigh.' In 2021, the couple welcomed a daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, via surrogate. Despite a publicly rocky relationship, they had a third child, Techno Mechanicus (nicknamed Tau), reportedly born in 2024. In 2021, Musk quietly had twins with Shivon Zilis, an executive at his brain-computer interface company Neuralink. The births weren't publicly known until court documents surfaced in 2022. More Trending Since then, Zilis and Musk have had two more children: one in early 2024 and another – a son named Seldon Lycurgus – in February 2025. His child with St. Clair was only revealed in February, after St Clair, who has over a million followers on X wrote: 'Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father.' She added: 'I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child's privacy and safety, but in recent days, it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause.' After the billionaire commented 'whoa' in response, St Clair wrote a now deleted comment: 'Elon, we have been trying to communicate for the past several days, and you have not responded. When are you going to reply to us instead of publicly responding to smears from an individual who just posted photos of me in underwear at 15 years old?' Got a story? 'I tried the Harrods £160 Japanese mango and was so surprised'

A food reviewer decided to try a Japanese mango from luxury department store Harrods with a hefty price tag and share her thoughts. As we're getting into summer, many people enjoy mangos around this time of year as they are in season A UK vlogger tried a luxury mango from Harrods and has given her verdict. Laura Khoshaba bought the Japanese mango from Harrods which comes in a box of two for £160. The mangoes are not sold separately. Laura posted a video on TikTok to share her thoughts, where she often reviews expensive food products online. In her post, she included a clip of the mangoes on display in the luxury London department store with a sign that states they are 'one of the most sought-after fruits in the world '. They are grown in the Miyazaki prefecture in the south of Japan and are also known as the 'Egg of the Sun.' ‌ The expensive bright red mangoes come in a nice red box with Japanese writing on it and are each wrapped in their own pink packaging. ‌ Laura took one out of the box and her first comment was 'that's heavy' as she held the fruit in her hand. According to Bokksu, a Japanese snack box subscription, each Miyazaki mango weighs at least 350 grams. The food reviewer cut one of the Harrods mangoes into pieces to reveal how it looked inside and juice oozed out of the fruit. She said: 'This looks amazing. This is so juicy.' Before taking a bite, she shared that she was 'so excited.' Laura taste tested the mango and was visibly satisfied as she couldn't help but smile while eating it. There was one thing in particular that impressed her. She added: 'That was so smooth, I barely had to chew it. Wow.' ‌ The foodie even declared: 'That is the best mango I've ever had in my life.' She gave the Japanese mango a ten out of ten rating. She then turned her attention towards the price as she acknowledged: 'I mean £160? It's unreal though.' ‌ Laura described it as 'amazing' and showed how much juice fell onto her hands to emphasise how juicy the mango was. She continued to take bites of the fruit until there was only the skin left and dubbed it the 'best fruit' she has ever had. The display sign above the mangoes in Harrods explains that in order to be called 'Egg of the Sun' mangoes, each fruit has to be grown to the highest standard and pass a 'strict inspection' to make sure the size, colour, shape and sweetness are perfect. ‌ Bokksu claims that it's what's inside that sets these mangoes apart from other types. It elaborates: 'Beneath the vibrant skin lies a vivid golden-yellow flesh that is intensely sweet, juicy, and nearly free of fibre. 'The texture is creamy and smooth - so much so that a bite almost dissolves in your mouth. They're not just mangoes - they're an experience.' Laura's TikTok video has amassed more than 900 comments with viewers having their say on the luxury mangoes. One user, taken back by the price, asked: 'What is this mango made of? £160 for what.' Another added: 'No mango is worth £160, no one can convince me.' However, a third user said it 'looks amazing.'

Frankie Bridge's £39 River Island skirt can be styled 'so many ways'

Frankie Bridge is one of the UK's most stylish women, and is always serving up major fashion inspiration - and this outfit she recently wore is from River Island TV personality and fashion favourite Frankie Bridge has once again proven why she's a go-to for warm-weather style inspiration. In a recent Instagram post, she debuted a look that she hailed as 'perfect' for a city break - and best of all, every piece is from high street favourite River Island. Giving us all the Italian Riviera vibes, Frankie stepped out in River Island's White A-Line Poplin Midi Skirt, which costs £39. White cotton skirts dominated Instagram in summer 2024, and are very much back for 2025, making it a smart investment for anyone looking to build a capsule warm-weather wardrobe. With its elasticated hem and classic midi length, the skirt is as comfortable as it is elegant, made from 100% cotton making it ideal for beating the heat. As we've learned from influencers over the last 12 months, it really is a versatile summer staple, with Frankie noting: 'The skirt can be restyled SO many ways over summer.' Elsewhere, New Look has this White Pleated Midi Skirt for £29.99, while Mango's flared cotton skirt is £45.99, available in white, black or red. At Boden, the Double Cloth Smocked Skirt comes in at £66, but for something more budget friendly, M&S's Pure Cotton Shirred Midi A-Line Skirt is under £30. But the fact that so many high street retailers are stocking them cements them as a go-to trend for the season. The 36-year-old paired the skirt with a Black Sleeveless Textured Trim Bandeau Top for £26. The beaded notch detail and side split hem add an elevated twist to the minimalist bandeau cut, which is an insanely sought-after silhouette this year. Frankie shared her thoughts on the top, saying: 'Love the top and the detailing.' She added: 'If you're on a city break then this is the perfect outfit. Stay cool in the heat but still look put together.' Accessorising the look, she added a Black Mini Raffia Cross Body Tote Bag featuring a front flap with popper fastening, gold branding detail, and a convenient crossbody strap, as well as a pair of Black Toe Thong Wedge Heeled Sandals (£38), ideal for the petite 5'3' presenter with their 12cm heel. Completing the look with the retailer's £14 Black Cat Eye Slim Chain Sunglasses, Frankie commented: 'I feel very chic in this, it's a nice little dinner outfit.' And we couldn't agree more, with both capsule wardrobe staples prime for styling with basically anything you already own. Frankie isn't the only ex-Saturdays singer that's a fan of River Island, though. Rochelle Humes wore the brand's Blue Seam Detail Balloon Leg Jeans, priced at £49 for an episode of This Morning last month. She told her fans: "There's a new rule, we didn't used to wear jeans but we can wear jeans now. This is amazing news to me. So these are River Island, they're like a nice barrel cut." But if it's Frankie's summery skirt you're keen to snap up for your latest getaway, shoppers can take a look here.
