Frankie Bridge's £39 River Island skirt can be styled 'so many ways'
Frankie Bridge is one of the UK's most stylish women, and is always serving up major fashion inspiration - and this outfit she recently wore is from River Island
TV personality and fashion favourite Frankie Bridge has once again proven why she's a go-to for warm-weather style inspiration. In a recent Instagram post, she debuted a look that she hailed as 'perfect' for a city break - and best of all, every piece is from high street favourite River Island.
Giving us all the Italian Riviera vibes, Frankie stepped out in River Island's White A-Line Poplin Midi Skirt, which costs £39. White cotton skirts dominated Instagram in summer 2024, and are very much back for 2025, making it a smart investment for anyone looking to build a capsule warm-weather wardrobe.
With its elasticated hem and classic midi length, the skirt is as comfortable as it is elegant, made from 100% cotton making it ideal for beating the heat. As we've learned from influencers over the last 12 months, it really is a versatile summer staple, with Frankie noting: 'The skirt can be restyled SO many ways over summer.'
Elsewhere, New Look has this White Pleated Midi Skirt for £29.99, while Mango's flared cotton skirt is £45.99, available in white, black or red. At Boden, the Double Cloth Smocked Skirt comes in at £66, but for something more budget friendly, M&S's Pure Cotton Shirred Midi A-Line Skirt is under £30. But the fact that so many high street retailers are stocking them cements them as a go-to trend for the season.
The 36-year-old paired the skirt with a Black Sleeveless Textured Trim Bandeau Top for £26. The beaded notch detail and side split hem add an elevated twist to the minimalist bandeau cut, which is an insanely sought-after silhouette this year.
Frankie shared her thoughts on the top, saying: 'Love the top and the detailing.' She added: 'If you're on a city break then this is the perfect outfit. Stay cool in the heat but still look put together.'
Accessorising the look, she added a Black Mini Raffia Cross Body Tote Bag featuring a front flap with popper fastening, gold branding detail, and a convenient crossbody strap, as well as a pair of Black Toe Thong Wedge Heeled Sandals (£38), ideal for the petite 5'3' presenter with their 12cm heel.
Completing the look with the retailer's £14 Black Cat Eye Slim Chain Sunglasses, Frankie commented: 'I feel very chic in this, it's a nice little dinner outfit.' And we couldn't agree more, with both capsule wardrobe staples prime for styling with basically anything you already own.
Frankie isn't the only ex-Saturdays singer that's a fan of River Island, though. Rochelle Humes wore the brand's Blue Seam Detail Balloon Leg Jeans, priced at £49 for an episode of This Morning last month. She told her fans: "There's a new rule, we didn't used to wear jeans but we can wear jeans now. This is amazing news to me. So these are River Island, they're like a nice barrel cut."
But if it's Frankie's summery skirt you're keen to snap up for your latest getaway, shoppers can take a look here.

Dua Lipa finally confirms engagement to Callum Turner
It's been half a year since Dua Lipa, 29, sparked engagement speculation after flashing a chunky ring over Christmas— and it's finally official. The Levitating hitmaker revealed that she is engaged to her boyfriend Callum Turner after he proposed with a very special ring. An Instagram photo dump first sparked rumours as a sparkling diamond could be seen on that finger, but Dua stayed silent. Months after teasing fans, she confirmed in an interview with British Vogue that she and Callum, 35, are set to tie the knot. 'Yeah, we're engaged,' last year's Glastonbury headliner cooly shared. 'It's very exciting. This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever – it's a really special feeling.' Dua revealed that Callum popped the question with a custom-made ring, which he had consulted with her sister Rina over. 'I'm obsessed with it,' she continued. 'It's so me. It's nice to know the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.' The happy couple began dating in January 2024 and made their relationship Instagram official in July. Dua was first spotted out with the Fantastic Beasts actor in March, with the pair grabbing a spot of dinner on date night in London. The Houdini icon had seen him before they began dating, having bumped into each other at The River Cafe and been introduced by the co-founder and Table 4 podcast host Ruth Rogers. At this point, Callum was simply 'that really hot guy' from the cafe, but a year later, their paths crossed once more, and she took the plunge. Book fanatic Dua bonded with the actor over the fact they were both reading the same novel — a real compatibility test. Despite this meet-cute, the duo are not rushing down the aisle as between Callum's film shoots and Dua's tour there is little time to plan. 'We're just enjoying this period,' she explained. 'I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden I'm like: 'Oh, what would I wear?'' We're sure whatever Dua chooses to wear will be a show-stopper. When the rumours of their engagement began last year, a source told The Sun: 'They are engaged and couldn't be happier. 'Dua has had one of the best years of her career professionally, and this is the cherry on the cake. Callum is such a solid support for Dua, and they make a wonderful couple.' Last year was certainly a big one for the Future Nostalgia icon as she headlined Glastonbury alongside Coldplay and Sza. Her set was praised by festival goers, filled with big hits, dance numbers, and a guest appearance from Tame Impala. However, it wasn't just on stage she was making an impact as Dua went viral for an interaction with a man who sang to her backstage. More Trending Dua was enjoying some downtime wandering around the 15000-acre site when a fan armed with a ukulele stopped her. The Camden busker introduced himself, and said: 'I want to play you 30 seconds of my song and if you like it, I just want your reaction.' Glancing at the camera, Dua agreed with the busker launching into exactly 30 seconds of his ukulele song before she cut him off and said, 'Well done mate. So good, so good.' As she attempted to escape, the guy asked for a hug — which Dua politely obliged before high-tailing it out of there and making a beeline for Callum. Got a story? Westlife have announced that one member won't be a part of the band's 25-year anniversary celebrations as he continues to battle health issues. The boyband issued a statement to Instagram on Wednesday evening, updating fans on how they plan to celebrate their milestone achievement. They revealed that a 'special show' is on the way for their devoted fans - but sadly band member Mark Feehily won't be a part of it. Following their formation in 1998, Mark enjoyed huge success with Nicky Bryne, Shane Filan, and Kian Egan, before taking a step back in February 2024 due to his ill health. According to the band's latest statement, he is not yet ready to return as the band prepare to celebrate their 25th anniversary. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. In a lengthy post, they penned: 'To our amazing fans, We would like to take this opportunity to share some very important news with you all. 'We are thrilled to announce the launch of our 25th Anniversary celebrations... On the 9th February 2001 we kicked off our first ever tour at the Newcastle Arena. Who would have thought we would still be here 25 years later? 'We have so many exciting plans to share with you very soon which will include new music, an album, special shows and many, many more surprises along the way. 'Sadly, Mark will be unable to join the celebrations. We hope he can join us back on stage when he is ready and able. He sends his love and positivity to you all as always. 'The four of us can't quite believe its been 25 years. We could only have dreamt of the continued love and loyalty you have consistently shown us around the world. 'We are so lucky to have all of you with us and we can't wait to celebrate together! Happy 25th To Us All! Love, Kian, Mark, Nicky & Shane x.' MailOnline has contacted Westlife and Mark's representatives for comment. Last year, Mark announced his temporary departure from the Irish boyband, just days before they were set to embark on their first ever tour of America. Mark announced his temporary departure from the Irish boyband, just days before they were set to embark on their first ever tour of America last year Prolonged ill-health resulted in the singer withdrawing from the band in a bid to recover after being diagnosed with sepsis. Taking to Instagram at the time, he wrote: 'Hello and much love to you all! It's Mark here.. Most of you are aware that I have had some health challenges over the past while. 'It actually all started 3.5 years ago in August 2020 when I had surgery. Within a few days of this surgery I was in severe pain and was rushed into A&E. 'I eventually ended that awful day in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) where I was informed that due to a complication with the surgery, I had developed severe 'Sepsis', a life-threatening infection that would require immediate emergency surgery to rectify the problem and basically save my life.' He added: 'I spent the next few months in hospital. It was during lockdown. For months, due to strict Covid restrictions, I was not allowed any visitors including my fiance and my then 10-month-old daughter. 'It was physically and mentally a very difficult time, not to mention traumatic having to spend so long in ICU. 'In late 2021, I became very ill in Newcastle before a concert and ended up back in A&E, this time being told I had pneumonia. I was told I had to go straight home to recover and regrettably miss the rest of the concerts that December. 'I was referred to a consultant who told me I needed more surgery which I went ahead with in May 2022 meaning I was forced to miss more of The Wild Dreams tour. 'Three months after that surgery, I tried my best to soldier on for you guys and to go back on tour but unfortunately the physical demands of the concerts and extensive travel were proving too much for me. 'I developed a very large 'incisional hernia' and I was told that I needed further surgery to fix it. This would be my fourth major surgery since the start of it all, but I had no option.' 'I developed a very large 'incisional hernia' and I was told that I needed further surgery to fix it. This would be my fourth major surgery since the start of it all, but I had no option.' Confirming his temporary hiatus from the band, he added: 'It is with the upmost level of regret that I must now temporarily stand down from all Westlife touring until a time ote: that I have had the chance to fully recover from the turbulent journey I have been through as an individual. 'Believe me, I wish things could be different! I would like to thank you so very much for your support and understanding of me and my health over the past few years.' Sepsis is a life-threatening condition caused when the body releases chemicals to fight an infection. These chemicals damage the body's own tissues and organs and can lead to shock, organ failure and death. Organ failure and death are more likely if sepsis is not recognised early and treated immediately. Mark's exit from the group came after a string of health woes in recent years, with the singer forced to drop out of Westlife's summer shows in May 2024. WHAT IS SEPSIS? Sepsis occurs when the body reacts to an infection by attacking its own organs and tissues. Some 44,000 people die from sepsis every year in the UK. Worldwide, someone dies from the condition every 3.5 seconds. Sepsis has similar symptoms to flu, gastroenteritis and a chest infection. These include: Slurred speech or confusion Extreme shivering or muscle pain Passing no urine in a day Severe breathlessness It feels like you are dying Skin mottled or discoloured Symptoms in children are: Fast breathing Fits or convulsions Mottled, bluish or pale skin Rashes that do not fade when pressed Lethargy Feeling abnormally cold Under fives may be vomiting repeatedly, not feeding or not urinating for 12 hours. Anyone can develop sepsis but it is most common in people who have recently had surgery, have a urinary catheter or have stayed in hospital for a long time. Other at-risk people include those with weak immune systems, chemotherapy patients, pregnant women, the elderly and the very young. Treatment varies depending on the site of the infection but involves antibiotics, IV fluids and oxygen, if necessary.
