Pune: As many as 200 specially-abled students from over 10 schools across the city showcased their talents in an inclusive city-wide cultural event on Saturday.
The vibrant talent showcase was conducted at the Annabhau Sathe Auditorium in Padmavati.
The event 'YOUTH The Power to Change Organization', organized by an NGO, featured performances in dance, music, drama, and elocution, celebrating the abilities and individuality of each participant.
The showcase was attended by Padma Shri awardee Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympic gold medallist swimmer, who praised the students' courage and confidence.

Speaking to the audience, he urged families and educators to support special students in pursuing paths that align with their passions, whether in education, the arts or professional fields, emphasising inclusion and encouragement over limitation.
Eleven students were felicitated for their outstanding achievements. Among them was Shlok Chavir (25) specially abled artist who defied limitations through his passion for music. "I trained at Bal Kalyan Sanstha since 2017 in vocal music, table and harmonium, and passed Gandharva Mahavidyalaya exams in all three segments with first class. Initially, I was non-verbal, but my speech improved through music therapy under teacher Dattatray Bhave.
