Steelers' Jalen Ramsey Relishing ‘Fun' Challenge of Multiple Roles

PITTSBURGH — Jalen Ramsey hasn't been tasked with a role like he's been given in black and gold. The Pittsburgh Steelers' defensive back is getting used to his multiple responsibilities. The three-time first-team Associated Press All-Pro has bounced between cornerback, safety and nickel within Mike Tomlin's defense. He played all three during his college days at Florida State and said recently on 'The Pivot Podcast' that he gets bored while stationed solely on the perimeter. 'It's fun, for sure,' Ramsey said after practice at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Tuesday. 'Challenging at times. Just, you know, making sure I'm locked in on the various parts of it, but I enjoy it a lot. … When you go from different positions, you have to know different roles, obviously, know different alignments, assignments and different techniques. 'In a couple of those roles, I have to communicate frequently, whereas just playing outside, I don't really have to communicate as much (and) I can just kinda lock in on one specific thing.' Ramsey prides himself on providing versatility, leadership in the secondary and play-making ability. He's been fostering a stronger bond with his fellow covermen, namely Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay. Porter is in his third season as a pro, while Slay is much more seasoned. Both Ramsey and Slay have won Super Bowls. 'All of us have been connected one way or another in our past, whether that's through just friendships, playing on teams together or knowing each other outside of football,' Ramsey said. 'We kind of already had a little something-something. It's just continuing to grow that.' Alan Saunders contributed reporting for this story from Pittsburgh. Rory McIlroy makes ‘reluctant' confession after thrilling Masters win

Before adding a green jacket to his wardrobe in April, Rory McIlroy was under the impression he'd sport the coveted piece at every opportunity if he ever won the Masters. Now four months removed from his triumphant playoff victory at Augusta National, the Northern Irishman revealed Tuesday ahead of the Tour Championship that he's 'reluctant to wear' the iconic jacket. 'It's not as if I wear it a lot. I have it hanging in my wardrobe in a place where I can see it every day. I always thought if I had one — if I did win the Masters one day — I'd never have the thing off, and it hasn't been that way. I haven't worn it as much as I thought I would,' McIlroy said, according to the Associated Press. Advertisement 5 Rory McIlroy won his first Masters in April 2025. 'There were points in my career where I didn't know if I would have this nice garment over my shoulders,'' McIlroy said after the final round. 'I certainly didn't make it easy. I was nervous. It was one of the toughest days I've ever had on the golf course.' 5 Rory McIlroy had not won a major in 11 years until the April 2025 victory at Augusta National. He finished the weekend at 11-under par. 'A lot of pent-up emotion that just came out on that 18 green,'' McIlroy said. 'A moment like that makes all the years and all the close calls worth it. It's nearly 11 years — not just about winning my next major, but the career Grand Slam, trying to join a group of five players to do it, you know, watching a lot of my peers get green jackets in the process.' Advertisement With the victory, McIlroy joined the elite group of Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Gary Player, Ben Hogan and Gene Sarazen who have won all four majors, which include The British Open, the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. Although the 2026 Masters is still some time away, McIlroy is looking forward to defending his title with the green jacket in tow. 'It'll be lovely to next time go there and go up to the champions locker room and put on my green jacket and feel like I belong,' he said. 5 Rory McIlroy will compete at the Tour Championship this week in Atlanta. Auburn claims 4 additional ‘national championships' on its football résumé

AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn is claiming four additional football national titles and will call itself a nine-time champion moving forward. The Tigers, for decades, boasted titles in 1957 and 2010. They also claimed the 1913, 1983 and 1993 seasons as meeting national championship qualifications. Now, though, athletic director John Cohen is adding titles from 1910, 1914, 1958 and 2004 to the program's résumé. It's laudable by some and laughable by others. 'For too long, Auburn has chosen a humble approach to our program's storied history — choosing to recognize only Associated Press national championships,' Cohen told On3 for a story announcing the decision Tuesday. 'Starting this fall, we have made the decision to honor the accomplishments of our deserving student-athletes, coaches and teams from Auburn's proud history. 'Our visible national championship recognitions now align with the well-established standard used by the NCAA's official record book and our peers across the nation.' The Associated Press, which began handing out its annual national championship trophy in 1936, credits Auburn with two titles: 1957 and 2010. Banners recognizing those seasons hang inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. The other titles Auburn is claiming have varying degrees of validity. For example, the Bowl Championship Series existed in 2004, and the Tigers failed to make the title game. They finished 12-0 and third in the rankings behind undefeated USC and undefeated Oklahoma. Auburn finished second in the AP and the coaches' polls after the Trojans handled the Sooners in the title game
