ACB summons KTR on Monday in E-Prix case
HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has summoned BRS working president KT Rama Rao to appear before it in connection with the Formula-E race case on Monday.
It may be recalled that the ACB had issued notices to Rama Rao earlier, asking him to appear before the agency on May 28. He, however, sought time to appear before the agency as he was going on a foreign trip. Rama Rao returned to Hyderabad six days ago.
Responding to the fresh notices, Rama Rao took to X to post: 'When you cannot run a government, keep people busy with a circus and distractions! Congress and its clown CM's antics won't deter us.
I have been summoned by the Anti-Corruption Bureau to appear for 'investigation' on Monday at 10 am, in Formula-E case where Rs 44 crore was transferred from Bank to Bank and the money is very much in the Account of FE. As a law-abiding citizen, I will attend and fully cooperate with the ACB officials! (sic)'
Former minister T Harish Rao termed the ACB notices as nothing but political vendetta.
Harish said that notices were issued to Rama Rao as he was consistently questioning the misdeeds of the Revanth Reddy government. He also alleged that in the last 18 months, the Congress government had been engaging in politics of diversion to malign the BRS.

CRPF jawan martyred in IED blast
Bhubaneswar: A CRPF jawan was martyred following a blast during an anti-Naxal operation at Odisha-Jharkhand border on Saturday morning, officials said. ASI Satyaban Kumar Singh (34) of 134th CRPF battalion, who hailed from Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh, was part of a team that was searching Saranda forest at the inter-State border for explosives robbed by Maoists from a stone quarry on May 27. He sustained injuries on his left leg when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded around 6 am near K Balang village in Sundargarh district. He was taken to a hospital in Rourkela, where he succumbed to the injuries. The search operation was being conducted by a joint team of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Odisha Police. About 5 tonnes of explosives were robbed from a stone quarry at Banko in Sundargarh by Maoists. While three-fourths of the explosives have been recovered so far, the security forces are continuing their search for the remaining gelatin packets. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi condoled the death of the CRPF official. 'Deeply saddened to know about the sacrifice of ASI Satyban Singh of CRPF in an IED blast during a combing operation at Odisha-Jharkhand border. He has set highest standard of service and courage by sacrificing his life for the security of the country. I pray for the eternal peace of the martyred jawan and express my condolences to the bereaved family,' he said in a post on X. The incident comes at a time when the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has intensified its fight against Naxals and counter-insurgency operations against cadres of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) and other Maoist insurgents in the Red-belt corridor. Security forces have been targeting hideouts, intercepting movement routesand working to dismantle logistical support networks used by Maoist cadres. The Saranda forest, spread across the Odisha-Jharkhand border, has been facing the brunt of Naxalism for several years. CPI-backed farmers union unhappy over Tamil Nadu govt's paddy MSP
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Farmers Association, affiliated to the CPI, a DMK ally, has expressed disappointment over the state government's recent announcement of incentive above the minimum support price (MSP) for paddy procurement. In a joint statement, the association's president S Gunasekaran and general secretary and former MLA P S Masilamani, said the incentive announced by Chief Minister MK Stalin on June 12 fell short of expectations of the farmers. The statement recalled that at a government function in Salem, Stalin had announced that for the 2025 procurement season, Grade A paddy will be bought at Rs 2,545 per quintal (including Rs 156 as an incentive), while common variety will be procured at Rs 2,500 (including Rs 131 incentive). The association said this contradicted the DMK's 2021 poll promise to offer Rs 2,500 per quintal as the base price, not inclusive of incentives. With input costs rising and other states like Chhattisgarh offering up to Rs 3,120 per quintal, the association urged the CM to raise the procurement price to at least Rs 3,000 per quintal.
