SUPPORTIVE SPOUSE Who is Thomas Frank's wife Nanna? Frank said the decision to take the Brentford job was '50 per cent me and my career, and 50 per cent Nanna and the children'

THOMAS Frank has replaced Ange Postecoglu as head coach at Spurs, despite the Australian winning the club's first silverware since 2008. 3 3 3 Here we get to know the Danish tactician's wife Nanna, who stepped up to support her husband financially during his early career and pushed him to take the Brentford job in the first place. Who is Thomas Frank? Thomas Frank took Brentford from the Championship and turned them into a Premier League fixture with a shoestring budget. For context, Erling Halaand was paid around a quarter of the Bees' entire combined salary during the 2024/25 season. The Dane's style of management has been admired by clubs including Manchester United, who reportedly considered him as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag in 2024. But it has been confirmed that next season his new home will be North London. In his early thirties, the former Brentford boss came close to quitting football altogether. He had even spoken to his wife, Nanna Thiel Frank, about giving up on his dream of coaching and becoming a teacher instead. Who is Nanna Thiel Frank? Nanna is the wife of new Tottenham manager Frank. The couple originally lived in Hvidovre, a suburb of Copenhagen, Denmark. But they relocated to London in late 2016 when Frank joined Brentford — first as an assistant to Dean Smith, before taking over as head coach. Career Nanna Thiel Frank has a background in social work. During the early years of Frank's coaching career — when he was earning a modest salary of roughly £5,000 a year while studying and coaching up to 40 hours a week — Nanna played a crucial role in carrying the family financially. Her career as a social worker allowed Frank to pursue his dreams in football, even during times of financial uncertainty. How many kids do Nanna and Thomas Frank have? Nanna and Frank have three children together — two daughters, Freja and Alba, and a son named Bertram — but further details have not been reported. Back in 2018, Frank told Coaches Voices: 'When I told my wife, Nanna, that I was unsure about Brentford, I could hear the disappointment in her voice. "It was the chance to move to London. But, more importantly, it was an assistant manager's job. "She liked the idea of me not having the pressure of being a manager or head coach… '…Nanna… thought it was perfect. The decision was 50 per cent me and my career, and 50 per cent Nanna and the children. We decided to go for it.'

How Thomas Frank's Tottenham will play: A culture shock from Ange Postecoglou, ultra-adaptable tactics and a secret weapon from set-pieces - and why he CAN replicate Brentford success

If Tottenham 's players were shocked enough by Daniel Levy sacking the manager that brought a first trophy for 17 years, they have another thing coming when they pitch up to training for next season. Levy could barely have chosen a bigger stylistic change in the dugout. 'The best managers adapt,' said new Spurs manager Thomas Frank earlier this year. That's very much not: 'It's just who we are, mate.'
