But despite the Europa League success, it was a worst-ever Premier League finish for Tottenham having ended the season in 17th.
According to talkSPORT, Spurs boss Daniel Levy and the board have not yet made a decision on Postecoglou's future.
It is claimed they will wait until the Aussie goes on holiday before deciding on who will be in charge next season.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank is said to be one of the leading candidates if Postecoglou is sacked.

Frank does has a hefty release clause in his Brentford contract, believed to be in the region of £9million.
But the Dane also has a long-standing relationship with Spurs' technical director Johan Lange.
Tottenham's 4-1 loss at home to Brighton on the final day of the season capped off a horror league campaign.
But Postecoglou remarkably still called Spurs' season "OUTSTANDING."

He continued: "We won a trophy, which we have not done for 17 years, and we're in the Champions League.
"Ask any supporter at the start of the season if they'd take that and there wouldn't be a person in the house that wouldn't."

Postecoglou also fended off "unnecessary" speculation about his future in North London.
He said: "You know my gut feeling? My gut feeling is I feel right now that I've done something that no one believed I could.
"And I shouldn't be sitting here talking about it (my future). That's my feeling, but it is what it is. As I said I am and probably I am talking now because I'm tired, mate.
"I have to [talk] about another game and I just want to go on a break and enjoy my family and reflect on being part of something unbelievably special, unbelievably special.
"I've been fortunate to be in this position a number of times, but seeing those scenes Friday and people have reached out and talked to me about how it has affected them what has happened over the last couple of days.
"It's a beautiful thing and I just want to enjoy that. To be honest, the rest of it? You know I don't even want to be talking about it. I just think it is unnecessary."
Levy also offered no clarity over Postecoglou's future in his end-of-season message to Tottenham supporters.
Levy's letter in full read: 'Dear all, we did it. What an unforgettable night it was in Bilbao as we ended our long wait for glory.
'This is a huge moment for the whole club, an historic achievement that sees us lift our first European trophy since 1984.
You know I don't even want to be talking about it. I just think it is unnecessary.
Ange Postecoglou on his Spurs future
'This club has been on an incredible journey on and off the pitch since we last won silverware, the League Cup, in 2008 – establishing ourselves as one of the biggest in Europe, moving into our new stadium and experiencing some incredible moments – we knew a trophy was the missing piece.
'We've come so close on a number of occasions and never quite got over the line – I have never wavered from the belief that success is just around the corner.
'I'd like to thank Ange and the players for making this incredible achievement possible and thanks to all of our amazing staff – there is so much hard work that goes on behind the scenes and this moment is for everyone to enjoy.
'I'd also like to thank you – the fans – for staying with us and carrying that same belief.
"I know it's been hard at times and I have shared in that pain and frustration along the way.
"But when we all come together, we know we can achieve something special.
'Your support – whether that was in Bilbao, in our own stadium or in pubs and homes around the world – was the driving force behind our team.
'This is one trophy – our clear ambition as a club has always been long-term, sustained success, competing for top honours every year. We have now tasted success and we are determined to use this as a springboard for more.
'Let's enjoy this moment as a club together, finish the season strong with a win today and go again next year.
'Most of all, be proud. Come on you Spurs!'

Swansea City in dialogue with Nottingham Forest over O'Brien as chief clears up transfer links
Swansea City in dialogue with Nottingham Forest over O'Brien as chief clears up transfer links Swansea haven't given up hope of a reunion next season and director of football Richard Montague has now confirmed the latest Lewis O'Brien did well at Swansea City (Image:) Swansea City's director of football Richard Montague insists the door hasn't yet been closed on a possible return for Lewis O'Brien this summer. The midfielder spent a hugely successful six-month loan spell with the Swans last season, starting all 16 games for the club after arriving in January and producing a string of eye-catching performances in the process. The 26-year-old has one year left on his current contract at Nottingham Forest, and the prospect of him breaking into their first-team plans appear slim, despite his exploits for the Swans. Sign up to the Swansea City WhatsApp service to get breaking news and top stories sent to your phone A host of Championship clubs have taken an interest, while Spanish giants Valencia are also understood to be admirers of the midfielder, but his next move remains shrouded in uncertainty. O'Brien is understood to have enjoyed his time in south Wales, and has similarly enjoyed a good relationship with head coach Alan Sheehan. Finances have already been mentioned as a key stumbling block were Swansea to show an interest in bringing him back, but Montague says the door is by no means closed on a possible reunion, adding that the club have already held discussions with his parent club. Article continues below "We have had good conversations with Forest," he added. "They were really good to deal with last season, they sent us a really nice message to thank us for how well Lewis did with us, which was great to receive. "We have a good dialogue with them. The ball is a little bit in their court at the moment because of Lewis' contract situation. He is on a Premier League salary and there needs to be some give in some sense to make it work for us. "But it's definitely an option that's still on the table. "We are talking to Lewis and having good conversations with Forest. We would love to be able to do something. It's just timing and matching it all up with the financial realities." Central midfield is an area the club are targeting in this window, although it seems they are not pursuing a deal for Lincoln City's Ethan Erhahon. Swansea had a bid for the 24-year-old knocked back earlier this month, and club insiders at the time indicated the Swans had ended their interest and moved on to other targets. Reports elsewhere later claimed the Swans were still circling for the Scotland under-21s international. However, those suggestions appear to be wide of the mark for now. 'We have talked about so many players and quite a lot have got to the point where we have spoken to agents or clubs," Montague continued. 'There isn't anything concrete in that one. I am happy to say he has been a player who has been lists but it's not progressing any further at this stage.' In terms of possible interest in their own players, Montague says there hasn't been any approach for midfield pair Goncalo Franco and Jay Fulton, both of whom have been the subject of speculation recently. Franco is understood to have caught the eye of clubs in England, Germany and Portugal, while Fulton has recently been linked with a move to Plymouth Argyle. 'Jay did unbelievably well for us when he came into the team at the back end of the season," Montague said. "He gave us some great minutes and is an unbelievable character. 'He is a senior player, which is probably lacking a bit in that age profile now with some of the key departures we had. 'Jay is an important player for us and there is no news about any offers or movement with Jay.' On Franco, he added: "I am aware of gossip and rumours. There is so much noise around this time of the year which is understandable because need things to write about. 'But until we have anything concrete, there is nothing for me to say about it. As well as central midfield, a centre-back is believed to be near the top of the summer wishlist - even if out-of-contract start Harry Darling decides to commit his future the club. Article continues below Swansea are already set to complete the signing of former Bolton Wanderers captain Ricardo Santos, but are actively look at further options, with Ben Cabango currently the only recognised senior centre-back on the books right now. They are also understood to have cast an eye over FC Sion's Gora Diouf in recent months, but he now doesn't appear to be a serious target as things stand.

Manchester United boost profit forecast after Europa League run lifts ticket sales
June 6 (Reuters) - Manchester United (MANU.N), opens new tab raised their annual core profit forecast on Friday as the club's strong performance in the Europa League drove ticket sales and broadcast revenue. United forecast adjusted core profit of between 180 million pounds ($244 million) and 190 million pounds for the year ending June, up from an earlier projection of between 145 million and 160 million pounds. Ticket sales jumped more than 50% to 44.5 million pounds in the three months to March as the club had a good run in the Europa League, before losing the finals to Tottenham Hotspur. United had their worst Premier League season since they were relegated in 1974 and hopes of participating in a European competition next season were dashed after they lost the Europa League final. "We had a difficult season in the Premier League, which we all know fell below our standards and we have a clear expectation of improvement next season," CEO Omar Berrada said in a statement. United's absence from European competitions, which are lucrative sources of broadcasting revenue, deals a huge blow to the club's future finances and has drawn anger and disappointment from fans worldwide. Jim Ratcliffe, who holds a stake of about 29% in the club and runs their football operations, has taken steps to revive the club's fortunes, including by cutting jobs, raising ticket prices and stopping free lunches at staff canteens. Those benefits are expected to be realised from the first quarter of the new fiscal year starting July, the club said on Friday. United reported a net loss of 2.7 million pounds for the three months ended March 31, compared with a loss of 71.5 million pounds a year earlier. ($1 = 0.7383 pounds)
