
West Lothian man and pet injured after 'incident' involving two dogs in street
A man and his dog have been injured following an 'incident' involving two others dogs in West Lothian.
Police were called to Bisset Place, Bathgate, shortly before 2pm on Wednesday, July 9, after a 44-year-old man sustained injuries.
His dog, a two-year-old Cockapoo, was seriously injured following an incident involving two Staffordshire and Mongrel breed of dogs.
The man was also treated for minor injuries and his dog was taken to a local vet.
Police have since confirmed owners of the other dogs, two women aged 38 and 28, have been reported for various offences.
Both dogs have since been seized by police and no longer with their owners.

Investigation launched after man dies in flat fire in Fenton
A man has died in a fire at a flat in paramedics and firefighters were called to Pool Street in Fenton at 09:00 BST on Tuesday.A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries but later family were being supported by specialist officers, they added, and an investigation was under way into the cause of the fire. 'Completely unacceptable' HM chief inspector of prisons Charlie Taylor said: "Despite clear improvement in safeguarding procedures and some concerted efforts to reduce conflict and violence, the key challenges of weak relationships between staff and children and ineffective behaviour management remained."He added there was a culture of control and separation and that the average time out of cell was just three and a half hours per day."This would be poor in any prison but is completely unacceptable in one holding children," Mr Taylor time was largely taken up with managing the separation of those who had to be kept apart for safety reasons, the report noted, however, that the governor and her team were aware of shortcomings and had enacted an improvement plan to address them the month before the inspection. Jury retires in Christmas Day murder trial
