SCOTLAND'S underworld is braced for revenge attacks after the brutal murders of Lyons gang kingpins Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr.
The double slaying of the two top table hoods in a Spain bloodbath has sent shockwaves through gangland circles - and poured rocket-fuel over an already raging gang war.

Sources are warning of more carnage to come amid fears hired hitmen are waiting in the wings to go after a string of top targets.
An insider said: 'The murder of Monaghan and Lyons has taken this ongoing madness to a whole new level.
'It's been boiling for weeks and everyone was wondering when there was going to be a fightback for all the attacks in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
'Only a few select people would have known something this brazen and brutal was being planned.
'This is the work of professional underworld hitmen and carried out in front of scores of innocent people. It's raised the stakes in this war beyond belief.'
We told how Monaghan and Lyons were boozing in a Monaghan's bar after watching the Champions League final on Saturday night.
Local reports suggest Lyons was shot in the chest at close range without having a chance to react and died instantly.
It's reported Monagahn ran into the bar in a desperate escape bid and was gunned down as terrified staff and customers hid under tables and chairs.
He is understood to have been shot at least four times in the chest and abdomen.
Despite attempts by police and paramedics to save his life, he passed away before he could be taken to hospital.

The gunman, whose disguise is said to have included a hoodie partially covering his face, fled on foot before rejoining the accomplice who had driven him to the murder scene.
Police have retraced part of their escape route to the old N-340 dual carriageway heading towards Benalmadena.
Details about the make and colour of the getaway vehicle have not yet been released.
Officers from an elite Spanish National Police Costa del Sol-based Anti-Drug and Organised Crime Unit UDYCO are heading the ongoing probe, although they are reporting to a local investigating judge coordinating the operation.
The National Police has confirmed two men were killed but declined to name them, saying in the force's only official statement so far:'Around midnight on Saturday an incident with firearms occurred in Fuengirola, specifically at an entertainment venue along the seafront.
'Two males died as a result from gunshot wounds.
'The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.'
A British woman answered the phone at the Irish bar, said to be owned by Ross Monaghan, but said she had been told by the police not to make any comment.
Spanish police confirmed today they had yet to make any arrests.
Career criminal Monaghan, who fled Scotland for Spain after a failed attempt on his life outside a Glasgow primary school in 2017, was tried but acquitted over the murder of notorious Glasgow hood Kevin 'Gerbil' Carroll at an Asda car park in 2010.
In August 2017 he and Eddie Lyons Jr, both members of the Lyons Glasgow crime family, were cleared of being involved in a brutal street attack on three men outside the Campsie bar in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire.
The shooting in Spain comes amid a violent gang war that has ripped through Scotland since March said to have started over a fallout over drugs.
We told last week how a vicious mob waging a gang war on Scotland's streets have DENIED reports of a truce - and have vowed 'we aren't going away.'
It was claimed rival crews from the Lyons and Daniel factions have agreed to halt the violence on orders from Dubai-based mob boss Ross McGill, 31.

Former Union Bear turned Dubaui-based mobster Ross 'Miami' McGill.
But sinister group Tamo Junto (TMJ) - who claim to be waging war against the Daniel's crime clan and its associates - blew those claims out of the water.
And they said they would continue to target the Daniel clan or anyone associated with drugs kingpin Mark Richardson, 38.
They said: 'We have terrorised you since March and we will continue to do so.
'Despite false claims in the media, TMJ will continue to target anyone associated with the Daniel family or Mark Richardson."
Police Scotland has made more than 40 arrests as part of Operation Portaledge - a huge prove into the going violence.
McGill, from East Kilbride, moved abroad in 2022 after skipping court on drug-dealing and gangsterism allegations.
He was said to have fled a nightclub in the UAE bolthole after spotting heavies linked to Steven 'Bonzo' Daniel, 45.
Speculating on the consequences of the killings, another insider last night said: "Whether it's linked to the ongoing Scottish feud or another dispute with gangsters from some other group, this is bound to lead to further violence."

Searches for Madeleine McCann to continue in Portugal

Searches for Madeleine McCann are to resume in Portugal, near where the little girl was last seen in 2007. On Tuesday, fresh searches for Madeleine began, as teams drained a well and cleared areas of dense vegetation near abandoned buildings in countryside a few miles from Praia da Luz. Madeleine, then aged three, vanished while on holiday with her family in the Algarve resort, after her parents went out to dinner and left her sleeping in a room with her toddler twin siblings. German investigators and Portuguese police officers and firefighters took part in the searches on Tuesday, as teams used strimmers, shovels and chainsaws to clear the undergrowth and debris around an abandoned building, and drained a well using a yellow hose. About a dozen officers focused on one abandoned building where digging was taking place, while another member of the search team cleared large rocks. The Sun reported that investigators are also planning to use radar equipment that can scan beneath the ground. It has been variously reported that teams will look where trenches were dug near the resort at the time of Madeleine's disappearance, at wells, ruins and water tanks, and that there are plans to examine 21 pieces of land. The search is being carried out at the request of the German federal police, as they look for evidence that could implicate prime suspect Christian Brueckner, who is in prison for raping a 72-year-old woman in Praia da Luz in 2005. He is due to be released from jail in September if no further charges are brought. In October last year, Brueckner was cleared by a German court of unrelated sexual offences, alleged to have taken place in Portugal between 2000 and 2017. About 30 German police, including forensic experts, are expected to take part in the search, with Portuguese officers, which is expected to last until Friday. The Metropolitan Police said they were aware of the operation but that British officers will not be present. German investigators and Portuguese officers last carried out searches in 2023, near the Barragem do Arade reservoir, about 30 miles from Praia da Luz. Brueckner, who spent time in the area between 2000 and 2017, had photographs and videos of himself near the reservoir. It was previously searched in 2008, when Portuguese lawyer Marcos Aragao Correia paid for specialist divers to search it, after he claimed to have been tipped off by criminal contacts that Madeleine's body was there. British police were later given permission to examine scrubland near where she vanished in 2014. Last month Madeleine's family, who are from Rothley in Leicestershire, marked the 18th anniversary of her disappearance, describing her as 'beautiful and unique', before her 22nd birthday, and vowed to continue the search. A statement from her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, and the family, said: 'The years appear to be passing even more quickly and whilst we have no significant news to share, our determination to 'leave no stone unturned' is unwavering. We will do our utmost to achieve this.'
