Chilling CCTV shows gangland gunman storm Spanish bar before killing Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr

The graphic footage, broadcast on Spanish TV today, showed the gunman dressed in black fire at Monaghan at point blank range. Horror CCTV footage shows the moment Ross Monaghan's killer chases him round his Costa del Sol pub and shoots him dead after executing pal Eddie Lyons Jnr seconds earlier. The chilling clip taken from inside Monaghan's bar in Spain shows a gunman dressed in black walk inside the boozer and shoot Monaghan, 43, at point black range on Saturday night after the Champions League final. ‌ ‌ The Glasgow hood is seen dropping to the floor in the video as the gunman shoots a number of times. As Monaghan crawls across the floor, he appears to turn round and look into his killer's eyes. He is later seen sitting upright against a wall covered in blood. Two innocent bystanders thought to include a waitress and another man in black, can be seen running for their lives in the footage, which was broadcast on Spanish TV today. The assassin appeared to be wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket and black shorts and a white T-shirt round his neck he is thought to have used to hide his face before striking. He is reported to have got out of a car to carry out the hit before fleeing in the same vehicle driven by an accomplice. Local reports today said Monaghan got the chance to try to escape after Eddie Lyons Jr was blasted outside the bar because the gunman's weapon jammed. ‌ The double shooting unfolded in front of horrified ex pats and holidaymakers in the Costa Del Sol. Harrowing images from the scene showed Eddie Lyons Jr lying lifeless on his back in shorts and a T-shirt by a drinks and meal blackboard on an outside terrace at the Irish bar. A video later emerged showing a passerby desperately tried to save the slain gangster as he lay on the pavement. ‌ The woman was seen giving him CPR but failed to revive him. Police and paramedics were later seen surrounding the body of one of the victims after he was covered under a blanket as shocked locals and holidaymakers looked on. The Record understands the shootings are linked to Scotland's ongoing gangland war. ‌ No arrests have been made. Spanish police said: 'The investigation is continuing into the fatal shooting of two men at a pub in Fuengirola, with nothing new at the moment.' ‌ Officers from an elite Spanish National Police Costa del Sol-based Anti-Drug and Organised Crime Unit UDYCO are heading up the ongoing probe. Court officials are expected to confirm later today a secrecy order has been placed on the investigation, preventing public officials from making any detailed public comment. ‌ Monaghan, who fled Scotland in 2017, to head for the Costa Del Sol is listed as the proprietor of the bar in an online business directory. The gangland figure touched town in Malaga in January 2017, after he was shot twice in a gun attack outside a primary school in Glasgow. Monaghan was reportedly shot twice by a gunman lurking outside St George's Primary, Penilee. The Record understands the horror gun killings are linked to a violent gang war that has been raging in Scotland since March. ‌ The feud first erupted following a fallout between rival gangsters after a £500k stash of cocaine was reportedly swiped from under the nose of Dubai-based Mr Big, Ross McGill. The drugs were reportedly taken by caged Edinburgh kingpin Mark Richardson's foot soldiers sparking a series of violent attacks on homes and businesses. Mr Big, who was later revealed as former Union Bears capo McGill waged war on Richardson and his associates, including the Daniels crime clan in Glasgow. ‌ Mr Big's enforcers, a faceless and frightening group going by the name of Tamo Junto (TMJ), have carried out a series of fire bombings and other vicious attacks on homes, businesses and cars associated with Richardson. We reported earlier this week that a well-placed source said the Dubai-based Mr Big behind attacks on Daniel targets, Ross McGill, had agreed to end hostilities after being leaned on by cartel bosses in Dubai. However gangland enforces Tamo Junto (TMJ) quickly quashed any talk of peace as they vowed to continue to carry out the turf war. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! The double slaying of the two top table hoods in a Spain bloodbath has sent shockwaves through gangland circles - and poured rocket-fuel over an already raging gang war. An insider said: 'The murder of Monaghan and Lyons has taken this ongoing madness to a whole new level. 'It's been boiling for weeks and everyone was wondering when there was going to be a fightback for all the attacks in Edinburgh and Glasgow. 'Only a few select people would have known something this brazen and brutal was being planned. 'This is the work of professional underworld hitmen and carried out in front of scores of innocent people. It's raised the stakes in this war beyond belief.' We told how Monaghan and Lyons were boozing in a Monaghan's bar after watching the Champions League final on Saturday night. Local reports suggest Lyons was shot in the chest at close range without having a chance to react and died instantly. It's reported Monagahn ran into the bar in a desperate escape bid and was gunned down as terrified staff and customers hid under tables and chairs. He is understood to have been shot at least four times in the chest and abdomen. Despite attempts by police and paramedics to save his life, he passed away before he could be taken to hospital. The DOWNFALL of Scotland's biggest gangster - Jamie 'The Iceman' Stevenson Part Two The gunman, whose disguise is said to have included a hoodie partially covering his face, fled on foot before rejoining the accomplice who had driven him to the murder scene. Police have retraced part of their escape route to the old N-340 dual carriageway heading towards Benalmadena. Details about the make and colour of the getaway vehicle have not yet been released. Officers from an elite Spanish National Police Costa del Sol-based Anti-Drug and Organised Crime Unit UDYCO are heading the ongoing probe, although they are reporting to a local investigating judge coordinating the operation. The National Police has confirmed two men were killed but declined to name them, saying in the force's only official statement so far:'Around midnight on Saturday an incident with firearms occurred in Fuengirola, specifically at an entertainment venue along the seafront. 'Two males died as a result from gunshot wounds. 'The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.' A British woman answered the phone at the Irish bar, said to be owned by Ross Monaghan, but said she had been told by the police not to make any comment. Spanish police confirmed today they had yet to make any arrests. Career criminal Monaghan, who fled Scotland for Spain after a failed attempt on his life outside a Glasgow primary school in 2017, was tried but acquitted over the murder of notorious Glasgow hood Kevin 'Gerbil' Carroll at an Asda car park in 2010. In August 2017 he and Eddie Lyons Jr, both members of the Lyons Glasgow crime family, were cleared of being involved in a brutal street attack on three men outside the Campsie bar in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire. The shooting in Spain comes amid a violent gang war that has ripped through Scotland since March said to have started over a fallout over drugs. We told last week how a vicious mob waging a gang war on Scotland's streets have DENIED reports of a truce - and have vowed 'we aren't going away.' It was claimed rival crews from the Lyons and Daniel factions have agreed to halt the violence on orders from Dubai-based mob boss Ross McGill, 31. 3 Former Union Bear turned Dubaui-based mobster Ross 'Miami' McGill. But sinister group Tamo Junto (TMJ) - who claim to be waging war against the Daniel's crime clan and its associates - blew those claims out of the water. And they said they would continue to target the Daniel clan or anyone associated with drugs kingpin Mark Richardson, 38. They said: 'We have terrorised you since March and we will continue to do so. 'Despite false claims in the media, TMJ will continue to target anyone associated with the Daniel family or Mark Richardson." Police Scotland has made more than 40 arrests as part of Operation Portaledge - a huge prove into the going violence. McGill, from East Kilbride, moved abroad in 2022 after skipping court on drug-dealing and gangsterism allegations. He was said to have fled a nightclub in the UAE bolthole after spotting heavies linked to Steven 'Bonzo' Daniel, 45. Speculating on the consequences of the killings, another insider last night said: "Whether it's linked to the ongoing Scottish feud or another dispute with gangsters from some other group, this is bound to lead to further violence."
