But after taking down top-seeded Medfield, 11-9, in the state semifinals Wednesday, the fifth-seeded Sailors (19-5) would not be denied a storybook ending.

'My fear was that we used so much mental and physical energy to play at the highest level we could against Medfield and we had to come into this game and find the same attitude,' said Scituate coach Mark Puzzangara, who guided the program to its last state title in 2009 in his first year at the helm.

'But when Willy [Robinson] tells the guys, 'We got this.' Everybody listens. That's just the seniors we have. There was no panic. We've been here before. We knew what we needed to do, so it's a tribute to them.'
Senior captain Lydon O'Brien (committed to Mass Maritime) made five of his 13 saves in the first quarter, offsetting a faceoff discrepancy and sparking the Sailors offense, even assisting on an early goal to junior Luke Spaulding, who posted 4 points (3 goals, assist) during a 7-2 first half.

When No. 3 Falmouth (18-6) rallied to close the gap to 7-4 in the third quarter, Robinson (2 goals) shut the door with a goal as time expired in the frame. Fellow senior captains Owen Hofford (2 goals, assist) and Quinn DeCourcey (goal, assist) rounded out the offense.
'These guys have been through hell and back and it shows the type of young men they are,' Puzzangara said. 'They're so mentally tough and to be able to compartmentalize all the emotions and just focus on doing the job, I can't say enough. It's a special group.'
Robinson and several of his teammates were instrumental parts of Scituate's run to a Division 4 Super Bowl last fall, avenging a loss to rival Duxbury the previous December.
Closing the redemption arc with another state title, Robinson finishes as one of the top athletes in school history. Before looking ahead to his lacrosse career at West Point, the 400-point scorer took extra time to sign banners and lacrosse balls for the fans and community members that have supported him throughout his career.
'When I was coming up and I would ask about [scoring] records or anything, [my dad] always said, 'It doesn't matter what records you have, it's how you make your mark. And how you make your mark is leaving a banner in that gym,'' Robinson said.
'I've always gone into the gym and looked up at the rafters and wanted to put up a banner, and now we've put up two. So it means the world.'

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been a sponge during the preseason, soaking up as much information from veterans as he can. On Monday, the Browns' social media team shared a mic'd up moment of Sanders asking teammate and star defensive end Myles Garrett how he would plan his pass rush against the rookie quarterback. After their conversation, Hurts gave Sanders a golf cart ride back to the teams' locker rooms. According to the Browns, Sanders suffered an oblique injury near the start of the Browns' Wednesday practice. His decision to stick around to have a conversation with Hurts after practice seems to show a commitment to learning every day, even when he's not a full participant in practice. The Browns are scheduled to play their second preseason game against the Eagles on Saturday. Cleveland had planned for Sanders to start the game if fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, who has been dealing with hamstring tightness, had been unable to go, according to reports. With Sanders' oblique injury, his status for the game is unclear. The Week 2 preseason game is scheduled to kick off at Lincoln Financial Field at 1 p.m. ET Saturday afternoon. NFL Network will simulcast the Eagles' local broadcast to a national audience.

He had stints with two different teams in the NCAA, and entered the NFL Draft with a lot of questions regarding his ability to translate to the pros. Hurts' draft stock didn't take a massive hit, as he ended up selected by the Eagles in the second round. As for Sanders, he slid down to the fifth round, which raised a lot of question marks. At the end of the day, Sanders ended up in a situation with the Browns, where he has a chance to play early. A strong preseason could give Cleveland a lot to consider. So far, Sanders is off to a good start. In the team's Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, Sanders completed 14 of his 23 passes. He racked up 138 yards in the air and threw for two touchdowns. He also rushed four times for 19 yards. While Hurts is still doubted plenty at this stage of his career, his overall success can't be denied. Five years in, he's got two Pro Bowls and one All-Pro honor. The veteran quarterback has led the Eagles to the Super Bowl twice and was the MVP of Super Bowl LIX, when the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs this past season. With Hurts once being in Sanders' shoes, the Texas-born quarterback was more than willing to give the young rookie some of his time following Wednesday's session. Cleveland Browns Training Camp Recap: Day 13 – No reps for Shedeur Sanders vs. Eagles
Day 13 of Cleveland Browns training camp took place Wednesday. Here is our recap of the session. Cleveland Browns Training Camp Report – Day 13 (8/13/25) 1. Practice With the Champs: It's a great opportunity for the Cleveland Browns to get a couple of joint practices in with the Philadelphia Eagles, the defending Super Bowl Champions. It's also great from a mental standpoint, because the coaches can point to the fact of how the Eagles really fell into a rut two years ago with their big losing streak, but they revamped and showed everyone what they were really capable of a year ago. As a reminder, during these joint practices, the media cannot film during team drills, so any highlights during those sessions would have to be provided by the teams themselves (and they are usually close-up shots, if they are provided). 2. Man of the People: A man of the people indeed — here is QB Joe Flacco using the restroom before practice started, a practice in which head coach Kevin Stefanski stated that the veteran quarterback would continue to take first-team reps in. Meanwhile, QB Kenny Pickett would remain limited to 7-on-7 drills against his former team, while QB Dillon Gabriel was expected to see some 11-on-11 work. 3. Re-United: The Browns shaved a tiny bit of salary cap this offseason by releasing veteran long snapper Charley Hughlett, who had been with the team since 2014. I'm sure it was fun for him to re-unite with his former teammates this week, as he is now a member of the Eagles. In a similar manner, the Browns surprisingly released defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo this offseason. Likewise, he signed on with the Eagles, so Browns players were catching up with him before practice. 4. Sanders Exits Early: The biggest headline from the joint practices is no doubt the fact that QB Shedeur Sanders was limited and held out the remainder of practice after he suffered an oblique injury. I'm sure we'll have more updates as time goes on, but at this point, we don't know the severity of it. Like, is it another, 'his shoulder was sore so we held him out a day' type of deal, or did he tweak it, something that isn't necessarily super limiting, but requires a few weeks of rest to truly let it heal? Eagles QB Jalen Hurts had some words with Sanders after practice: 5. One-on-One Action: During 1-on-1 drills, CB Myles Harden's stock takes another boost, as he logged an interception. 6. Tame Action All Around: There wasn't a ton of team reps for all the quarterbacks, but with Sanders out, Tyler Huntley got some work in. Joe Flacco completed a few passes to WR Jerry Jeudy later in practice. One highlight was WR Gage Larvadain snagging a touchdown pass from QB Dillon Gabriel, who might be in line to start against the Eagles on Saturday. 7. Punt Return Reps: The punt return reps against Philly included WR DeAndre Carter, WR Diontae Johnson, and WR Gage Larvadain. 8. Brownies: Former Browns WR Kevin Johnson was at practice. … CB Greg Newsome remained limited as he tries to battle back from a shoulder injury. … Head coach Kevin Stefanski noted that he was extremely disappointed with DE Myles Garrett's speeding ticket. … 9.
