Wild police chase across Brisbane suburbs ends with six teens charged
Officers spotted a black Mitsubishi ASX on Learoyd Road at Willawong, Ipswich, just before 10.40pm on Saturday.
When they tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver allegedly refused to stop — sparking a pursuit that stretched across multiple Brisbane suburbs and eventually involved Polair.
The car was tracked through Inala and Oxley, before heading west on the Ipswich Motorway.
A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on Brisbane Road at Dinmore around 11.10pm, police said.
But the car kept driving, turning back onto the motorway and heading inbound towards the city, before eventually coming to a stop in Wacol.
The driver — a 13-year-old boy — and five passengers were taken into custody at the scene.
Police allege the Mitsubishi was stolen from a carpark on Eastern Road at Browns Plains on Thursday night, May 16.
The 13-year-old driver has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and evading police.
Another 13-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy, two 15-year-old boys and a 15-year-old girl have each been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
All of the boys have been refused police bail and are expected to face Ipswich Children's Court on May 19.
Anyone who may have seen the black Mitsubishi ASX during the incident, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage, is urged to contact police.

Fred Sprigg, a member of the family who recovered the camper van, posted a comment on the video describing the recovery effort as an 'expensive exercise'. 'Was a community effort. Don't like leaving rubbish in the bush,' he said. It is understood the recovery operation took three days to complete, and Ms Wilga's friends in WA are expected to collect the vehicle so it can be returned to its owners. She said: 'First and foremost, I want to express a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart - a thank you that truly comes from the depths of my soul!' Sydney to Canberra police chase after routine traffic stop

A man has finally been arrested following a three hour police chase from inner Sydney to Canberra after he was found driving an allegedly stolen vehicle. Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were patrolling at the busy intersection of Cleveland and Bourke Streets in Surry Hills about 10pm on Tuesday, when they attempted to stop a white hatchback, believed to be stolen. A check revealed the vehicle was allegedly stolen from Melbourne last Saturday. A pursuit was initiated after the hatchback crashed into marked police vehicle and allegedly attempted to flee the scene, NSW Police said in a statement. The driver of the police vehicle was not injured. The car was followed by PolAir down the highway from Sydney to Canberra. However, about an hour later at 11pm officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command spotted the vehicle on the M7 motorway and recommenced pursuit. Video from AirPolice shows the vehicle zooming past 18-wheelers almost two hours into the 286km journey. Officers from multiple commands, including the Hume Police District, Monaro Police District, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and PolAir, were involved in the pursuit before the crossed the border into the ACT. ACT Police arrested the man about 1am Wednesday in Downer in Canberra's northern suburbs. The 43-year-old remains in the custody of ACT Policing at this time and is to be extradited to NSW. Three arrested in Townsville after German tourist's vehicle robbed at gunpoint
Police have arrested a trio of alleged arm robbers after a teenage German tourist's car was stolen at gunpoint in Cardwell, near Townsville. The trio allegedly approached the 18-year-old German at a rest stop on Queensland's Bruce Highway on Saturday evening. A 27-year-old Ayr woman, a 26-year-old Rasmussen man and a 17-year-old Rasmussen boy allegedly demanded the driver of the white Hyundai Accent to handover his keys, wallet and phone. One of them then proceeded to threaten the driver with a firearm before demanding he exit the vehicle. The German tourist complied to the alleged threats then reported the incident to police. Police later located the car two hours in Townsville – more than a two-hour drive from the alleged robbery near Cardwell. A coordinated response from Tactical Crime Squad officers, Dog Squad and Polair led to the arrest of the three offenders. 'A 27-year-old Ayr woman and 26-year-old Rasmussen man were both charged with two counts of armed robbery in company,' a Queensland Police spokesperson said. The two are expected to front the Townsville Magistrates Court on Monday, July 28. The 17-year-old teenager was also charged with two counts of armed robbery in company. He is expected to appear before the Townsville Children's Court on Monday, July 28. Police investigations are ongoing.
